Had my Lasek surgery at the Chelmsford branch, professional, kind and caring. Looked after me and made me feel at ease at all times. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone thinking about getting Laser eye surgery!

I recently had laser eye surgery performed by Optical Express, and I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. My initial consultation and follow-up appointments were conducted at the Preston branch, where the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and made me feel completely at ease. They answered all of my questions, provided excellent advice, and ensured I had all the information I needed to make an informed choice about the procedure. The surgery itself took place in Manchester, and it was absolutely nothing to worry about. Once again, all the staff were thorough, friendly, and highly professional. I was amazed to have better than 20/20 vision in less than 24 hours after the surgery! I highly recommend Optical Express to anyone considering laser eye surgery. They provided an outstanding service, and I couldn't fault them at all.

Lovely staff all answered all my questions and put me at ease setting up and recieving laser eye surgery. Called the office a few times with extra questions and when i was out of eye drops and they were super helpful

I booked in for a laser eye surgery consultation at 11:15 on 28/02/2024. I arrived at 11:00, 15 minutes early. I was told to wait and someone would be with me shortly. At 11:25, a member of staff came out and told me that they were running late. I asked how late they would be and they told me 25 minutes. I went out to get a coffee and returned at 11:40. I then waited until 12:10 to be seen, at which point I complained to the member of staff only to be told that they were short-staffed. I said that it was disrespectful as I had taken time off work and now wouldn't be able to get any lunch. I asked how long I would need to be at the appointment and the member of staff told me I was with them for another 'couple of hours'. At which point I said I wasn't interested. Ridiculous service, why would you not reschedule appointments if you cannot keep to time. People have lives and children to work around and the level of disrespect to assume someone will just sit in a waiting room for an hour is outrageous.

I have already emailed previously twice actually with no response on my laser eye surgery as to what an absolute shambles this full process has been for me with optical express. Let me start at the beginning, my eyesight has been awful for a while and it was starting to really get me down. I have honest issues with anything near / touching my eyes so even going to my regular opticians appointments were a struggle. I had My little boy and have thought since then I need to do something about it so I can actually enjoy life with him being able to actually see, so opted for laser eye surgery after a lot of humming and hawing. I’ve never been one to worry about anything really but this was particularly a big deal for me. I had my pre op video call and went over everything that was going to happen. I then a few days later arrived at the surgery for my surgery, After being up literally being sick about this I’ve came into the Glasgow clinic on the 25th and was told I couldn’t get my procedure because apparently someone from customer service or head office hadn’t booked me in correctly.. and no one really knew why.. I have all the emails and texts to say I was booked in so that was a big blow. I was genuinely almost crying at this point my friend brought me to the surgery and had left to go get lunch whilst I was in, so I had no choice but to just wait for a couple hours for her to come back for me. At this point I was told I could be squeezed in on Saturday the 1st of March, but it would be a different surgeon. So here I am waiting in the waiting room.. then approached and coincidentally told there was a cancellation for 15:30. A card machine was brought to me to pay for the procedure quick enough. It then gets to 16:10 and I’m still no further forward as to what’s going on. I’ve sat there since around 12:30noon. I have severe anxiety about this full procedure as it is and I’ve watched numerous people go in and out and I was still waiting. I’ve had to rearrange childcare for my children twice as well as a way home & I hadn’t had anything to eat. On a more positive note I’d like to point out that Charlie & Donna (I think that was her name) were phenomenal and probably influenced me not just walking out all together, they are really lovely people and colleagues you have so I hope this is recognised. But overall im disappointed by this experience in a whole from optical express, I did a lot of research into who I was going to use as like I said I was really nervous as I’m not a fan of anything near my eyes funnily enough & had the day planned out to a T which went considerably wrong. The procedure itself wasn’t bad and I can’t complain about that but the stress of the overall day would put me off recommending to family and friends. Considering the price I paid, I spent all day worrying & stressing about something I was really looking forward to the outcome off. So if you are a worrier or have anxiety about your eyes or anything like this, I’d advise really looking into things and making sure to double check everything so your day will run smoothly before it goes wrong. Update: changed to a 1 star as haven’t had any reply on my complaint at all, quick enough to take the money but now don’t care. 1 star is for the surgeon and surgery itself. The rest of the service is ridiculously poor. Appalling, wish I’d went elsewhere especially with the money I spent!!!!!

I had my surgery at Milton Keynes surgery, it was really easy and everything was explained to me clearly at every stage. Andrea was great in my consultations, and my surgeon Dr Haq was absolutely fantastic, the surgery was quick and painless.

Staff in the Kirkintilloch branch have always been polite and helpful I have been using them for well over 10 years. I Booked an appointment as I had been having issues with my distance vision as well as my reading glasses needing replaced. Louise took me through all my options and explained everything very clearly, so I could choose which option would be right for me. Blair the optometrist tested my eyes and explained what had changed and why I was having issues with my sight. The whole process was quick and easy. Great service as always.

Had total lens replacement surgery for cataracts in both eyes a week ago. Vision now excellent and improving. A problem was detected at the post-operative 24-hour check-up. The left eye pressure was low which was traced to an incision in the cornea not healing. This was fixed and I was seen multiple times and monitored until the incision healed. I cannot recommend Optical Express more highly and especially Mr T Morssouni, my optometrist, who went out of his way to care for me and Mr S Siddiq my surgeon who answered every question I asked in a straightforward way and calmed my anxiety. The care I received from everyone was excellent including from Nicola Hill who took my readings on the many modern optical instruments at Optical Express. Vision is precious to me and I chose carefully where to have my first eye surgery. Looking back, I could not have chosen better. The sometimes long wait to be seen has been worth it for the extra care I feel has been given to me.
