United Kingdom | 07 February 2025Absolutely disgusted! Where do I start!! so called "free consultation", you have to give them your card details even before the appointment! Which they charge you £50 if you don't turn up! that part I don't have a real issue with as I hate it when people don't turn up for booked appointments but still £50 is a joke! False advertising to get you there! on there website prices start from £695 per eye. when I arrived at the clinic I conveniently was told I'm not suitable for that treatment! surprise surprise, that I would need lens replacement which starts at £7500! Funny they could tell me that before even looking at my eyes!! On that note I said to the staff lets not waste each others time, I'm not spending that sort of money as I only wear reading glasses with a strength of 0.75, the laser was just for convenience really. I was then told if I don't go through with the examination I would be charged the £50!! WTF I turned up for my appointment!! Then was told that's the way head office works you have to be put on the system!! So I had the consolation, which was a complete waste of both our times as I'm not paying that sort of money. I will be reporting this to the trading standards. I would of been happy with a few grand but over £7K I don't think so!!

United Kingdom | 07 February 2025All of the staff at the Chelmsford branch were brilliant throughout my consultations and laser eye surgery. The reception staff were fantastic at making me feel comfortable and the surgeon and nursing team were very supportive and reassuring. I have only not given 5 stars as the surgery itself was a bit more difficult than I had expected. But if you are thinking of having laser eye surgery, Optical Express in Chelmsford is the place to go.

United Kingdom | 06 February 2025Had multifocal lens replacement two days ago at Newcastle best decision ever. I was made comfortable and relaxed during the whole procedure the team was brilliant. The first few hours I had some discomfort but by the next morning all felt well and my vision was great. Went for my next day check up and my close up reading was better than average and distance was average for what was expected after 1 day and it will get even better as the next few weeks pass. It's a great feeling not needing glasses or contacts anymore. Yes it is expensive but it was well worth it wish I had done it earlier rather than at 66 years old Thanks optical express it's changed my life

United Kingdom | 06 February 2025Firstly the staff at the swansea branch, Jo and Rebkah the Zahra were amazing , so professional and made me at ease, Jo was also involved in the cardiff branch and due to her humerousand bubbly personality I really felt at ease, Zahra was really professional and answered every question I threw at her which made me so relaxed and ready for the eye surgery. Then the Egyptian eye surgeon and crew were superb, I highly recommend having lens replacement done "IT DOES NOT HURT WHATSOEVER".

Best decision I ever made! from being extremely shortsighted so that I couldn't even see the chart, to 20/20 vision straight away is amazing! the staff were all amazing and caring and my surgeon was great at keeping me informed and at ease with the procedure, thank you all so much. I highly recommend this branch for anyone considering lens replacement surgery.

Abrasive, evasive, kept me on the phone for £40 billing time and then said I wasn't entitled to an escalation as I refused to be interrogated and then put the phone down. The mere fact this organisation is wanting details from me - clearly a standard generic response, but does not provide any details from their side, indicates this is still a call centre response, which is really not appropriate at this stage. And again indicates their poor level of customer service. You owe me money. Happy to go all over social media and small claims court. United Kingdom | 05 February 2025Unfortunately one of my biggest regrets. I had laser eye surgery last summer. My presciption was fairly simple however unfortunately I have been left with a prescription in both eyes. One eye is severe enough that it has been recommended that I have an enhancement surgery to improve it. I was repeatedly reassured by the optician not to worry as this is covered for 12 months etc. What I hadn't realised is that the clinic were adding £100 charge to each of the appointments the optician was requesting I attend. I was only told of this on the phone a few days before christmas by accident! In the small given print prior to surgery although it states they provide aftercare for 12 months, this is chargeable after 3 months. I spoke to customer services who stated that it was my responsibility to read the small print. Whilst this is correct, their wording and approach was not pleasant. Even though the clinic keep ringing me to book the enhancment appointment, I am stuck with very little options. If I want to have it done to achieve what I wanted in the first place (near enough 20/20 vision) I must commit more money to this at £100 per appointment or I give up and walk away with eyesight the optician has stated is 'a standard we would not have aimed to achieve. Unfortunaltley financially this is not something I can do. On reading terms and conditions, Optimax provide 12 fully free months of aftercare and therefore I wish I had gone with them. After years of saving £5000 for my procedure, I honestly thought the service would be different. I don't like to leave a review and this is the first one I have ever done but I feel it is the only way to have my voice heard. During your consultations you are given a patient survey to complete but this is done right after the surgery when everything seems fine! Update from 4th March 2025 - I have now just had my FOURTH appointment cancelled last minuite with the clinic. I just want to see someone to discuss my aftercare. After making work arrangements, securing a family member to drive me, again its cancelled just hours before. Please please stay clear of this company. I have been unable to get aftercare since Decemebr
