Great experience from start to finish at the Newcastle Branch. Laura H took care of me from the start explained everything perfectly and the surgery went great. Unpleasant experience having it done but it's over in 5 minutes and the recovery for the LASIK was amazing.

Having visited a few other other opticians, we were unsure what service we would experience at Optical Express Westfield (White City). But I can honestly say that it was fantastic. We were impressed with the attention to detail and warmth we were shown throughout the entire appointment. I was especially impressed by Amina who took great care of my mother and was so welcoming and attentive the entire time. An exemplary member of the team. The Optometrist Bobby was also fantastic and engaging, providing explanations throughout, whilst performing the eye test. He answered our questions, including providing general advice on eye care. We didn't feel rushed at any point and staff were accommodating. Even offering to provide tea, coffee and water whilst we waited. Thank you Amina, Bobby and the rest of the team. We have already recommended our family and friends to go to Optical Express Westfield for their next eye tests.

I recently had laser eye surgery at Optical Express Birmingham, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, the process was seamless and professional. The staff at both Leicester (Pretti and Neeta) where I had my consultation and check ups and the Birmingham team were incredibly welcoming, answered all my questions, and made me feel at ease throughout every stage. The procedure itself with Mr Mughal was surprisingly quick and painless, with the team ensuring I was comfortable and informed at every step. The aftercare has been excellent, with clear instructions and regular follow-ups to check on my progress. The results so far are amazing and no longer needing glasses or contact lenses is incredible. I can’t recommend Optical Express enough. I wish I’d have done it sooner!

Wonderful experience both prior and after surgery. Both myself and wife had new Multi focal lenses. Friendly, painless surgery at Westfield. Already later on the same day we could see near on perfectly. It's now 1 day after and when in bright light we are both wearing sunglasses as it's quite bright. Wonderful experience I would definitely recommend to anyone.

In response to my recent review Optical Express state 'Our multi-layered process of Informed Consent ensures that potential risks, side effects, and complications are thoroughly discussed with you during your pre-operative consultations, in line with our commitment to patient safety and informed consent.' This is simply not true. Yes, I was given an information pack to read through, however there was no mention or discussion of any of the risks, side effects or complications during any of the three consultations I attended. Optical Express might want to look into their procedures around this as it clearly is not what is actually happening! Also, I have already contacted the customer service team in response to my complaint. This was over 3 weeks ago now and I have no reply, or even an acknowledgement that my email has been received. At least the service is consistently bad all the way through the process! I am now looking into other options to take my complaint further. *UPDATE FOLLOWING RESPONSE FROM OPTICAL EXPRESS* You state "Our records indicate that at your last visit, your vision was recorded as better than 20/20 in each eye individually, as well as when both eyes are tested together. We are pleased with these positive results but recognise that you may still have concerns." You fail to mention, or perhaps it wasn't recorded, that I stated in each appointment that my vision was blurry and I have trouble focusing at all distances. If this is classified as 20/20 vision then that is incredible! You stated "we would like to clarify that our customer services team has provided a response within the timeframes outlined in our formal acknowledgment email sent on 6th January 2025" Again this is simply not true, just another in a list of lies. I have had no formal acknowledgement or response of any kind from your customer services team! (and I have checked my junk email folders too).

Made a free appointment at Optical Express Salisbury For my wife regarding cateracts. Met with Mohammed first who was extremely polite and helpful. Discussed details with my wife and also did a few tests. Very happy with it all. Then met with Troy who was also brilliantly helpful and during more tests explained everything to us. Happily answered all our questions and really helped my wife feel at ease. We both felt very pleased with everything. So polite and friendly, couldn’t have asked for more Can definitely recommend!

After woken with a really swollen eye, and GP, and nhs24 wouldn't see me due to red weather alert. But managed to get an emergency app withing 30minutes after phone optical express. Really helpful and was seen quickly

Rafia was so professional and knowledgable. She gave us plenty of information, and informed us of details on all of the tests we were doing and why, as well as details of her professional experience. Rafia was also very friendly, making us feel at ease. Overall a very positive experience at optical express

I was given a pre-examination before seeing my Optician where staff talked me through every stage of the process. When I saw my Optician he talked me through every stage of where my sight was at present, he was very kind and patient and answered all the questions I needed to know which gave me a lot of re-assurance. I found the atmosphere very relaxing and comfortable, due to this I wouldn’t go anywhere else giving full recommendation with Optical Express.

Came for an eye test after my cataract surgery and had my YAG done with optical express and now coming to get my second one. Amaan and Amandeep took great care of me and made me feel at ease and now ready to see clearly again

Update on my awful experience with optical express . After writing my review they replied with a telephone number to ring so we could try and resolve the matter . I did ring up but it’s like they all have the same script to read then a sorry we can’t help you . All I wanted to do was cancel my appointment without getting charged a fee it’s truly unbelievable that nobody was able to do this for me . I did attend clinic today I was adamant they wouldn’t charge me as it was them at fault for misleading me and giving wrong information. It was a total waste of my time and their time . There are plenty of very good clinics out there I would highly recommend to avoid this one . In response to optical express it was not I that didn’t agree with your terms & conditions I was quite happy to book an app until you started changing starting price put me at unease right away . After attending your clinic yesterday Iv received an email & 2 text messages saying I didn’t attend clinic and would I like to re-book . Very unprofessional .

Had lens replacement surgery at the end of November. The before /during and after care was superb. Everything was explained thoroughly and surgery was painless. My glasses and contact lenses are a thing of the past! Should have done it years ago. Highly recommended!

I made the best decision ever to book a consultation at the Uxbridge Clinic last year, and I just had my surgery yesterday, and it was phenomenally quick, thoroughly explained and safe. What stood out to me was the level of professionalism, courtesy but more importantly, the CARE of the staff members in both Uxbridge and Harley Street. These people genuinely have a connection with you and your journey and will absolutely tailor to your needs. Uxbridge was where I started my journey, and a big shout out and thank you to Vina who debriefs everything honestly and openly and always goes the extra mile everytime, Humaira who also has a warm presence and listened to my every concern, and of course Gulfam who conducted my main eye tests and suitability, answering all questions and doesn’t worry about himself, only his customers. All 3 of you are the KEY players in my journey. Without these 3, I don’t know if I would have the confidence to go forward, and even after the surgery, they have been so warm and gentle to me, you stood out to me in the last few months, even today at my aftercare, the newer team were very welcoming and made me relaxed, you rock. Amani I spoke to one time also made me feel calm on the phone. I’d also have to mention the lovely staff on the day of surgery at Harley Street, namely Fiona who explained my aftercare procedures like a living encyclopedia and a personality queen, Olivia, Anna, Denise, Shaltiel and of course the exceptional Sajjad Mughal, my surgeon who made me feel so comfortable before and after surgery. This man knows what he’s doing, anyone who gets operated by him is in the best hands, he cares for your eyes as if they are his own. Will be bringing my Dad this year for his consultation too, thanks Vina for the heads up x
