Rocket mortgage made me feel like they are out for me and my success in homeownership

Worst experience ever with a mortgage company and I've dealt with several. Lies from my initial contact to get your business and then canceled closing date 5 times due to their errors. Once interest rates drop within next couple years I will, without hesitation, refinance yet again so as to never give this company another penny. I will never recommend this company to anyone.

Real estate broker of 20 years. Working with buyer. I referred Rocket Mortgage, after working with Quicken loans many times. Rocket Mortgage Pre-qualified the buyer for an incorrect amount. I had to figure this out, and call and go over the figures with the lender, and was told that my buyer would just need to bring more money to closing. Poor communication. Rocket Mortgage did not explain anything well to the buyer. The buyer received the closing disclosure with a seller concession of $1600, it should have been $6340.00. How do you make this mistake, it is in the contract. Then the buyer received a corrected closing disclosure with the seller concession completely missing. Another corrected disclosure was sent missing a credit from the seller included in additional provisions, that was discussed with Rocket Mortgage before the contract was written, to be sure this credit would be allowed, was NOW not allowed. Now we needed to lower the price to cover the credit at this very last minute in the transaction. Then the fourth Closing disclosure had the lowered price with a seller concession of $4740.00, WHAT???. Remember the figure is $6340.00, how hard is this? It took many phone calls on my part to get this mess cleaned up. I have never had such trouble with a lender and I haven't even mentioned everything. Never again. I do not know how to reply to Rocket Mortgage reply, but I will email the loan number so that they can follow up on this.

Every person we dealt with from the very beginning of the loan process to the closing agent was a complete joy. They were not only professional, but were kind, understanding, helpful and patient in all aspects. I would use them again and would recommend them to anyone for their mortgage user.

Very informative.

I was in the market for a home loan and turned to Rocket first. Our credit scores are in the high 700s and mid 800s and we wanted to put down as little as possible. With Rocket I ended up with a 7.75% rate loan with assurances that no one was getting below 7%. Due at closing? Nearly $9K. I was also assured that I could refi for "free" in 18 months. A practice I highly suspect is churning. I went to PNC and I have a 6.25% rate and a grant for $15K toward the purchase of the home. Due at closing? $300.
