When considering putting your property on the market we had a number of estate agents in to value the house – the big boys and some of the locals. Of everyone who attended we felt that only McEwan Fraser Legal really had a feel for our house. Valuations fluctuated by £100,000 – literally! That is not why we picked McEwan Fraser Legal - we picked them because we thought they knew what they were doing. They were not the cheapest but we felt they were likely to be the most effective. Over the course of the time we received several offers. Ultimately, we received an offer in excess of valuation which turned out to be considerably more than other estate agents had said we would receive. The feeling we had is that other estate agents would be more than happy to sell at a low price in order to gain commission whereas McEwan Fraser Legal really went out of their way to ensure we got the best possible offer. It seems to us that their ethos is totally different and that they generally act in favour of their clients. In short, we felt we were very well advised and that everything was done in our best interests. If we ever have to go through the hell of selling again, we will definitely use McEwan Fraser Legal – and I can give no higher recommendation than that!

We recently used MF for both our sale and legal representation and were disappointed with both sides of the company. Lack of communication and not delivering what they promised were the main issues. We lost our sale after nearly seven weeks and heard about it, not from MF, but from our purchasers. An immediate request to attend a viewing as we were on holiday was refused. Our purchasers quickly secured a second sale but again we always had to contact MF for information regarding progress - we heard nothing from the sales side during the whole process and solicitors would only speak to their immediate colleagues rather than interrogating further down the chain. All in all an extremely poor service and we would certainly not recommend this firm.

She sold it within a week and at more than the Home Report value. She then proceeded to sell my buyer's own property for them thus completing the chain seamlessly and quickly. I made an offer on a house on a Friday afternoon and after frantically calling around five other solicitors offices, who were either closed or unable to help, I eventually found McEwan Fraser Legal who were brilliant from the start. My solicitor was Barry H. He was fantastic at guiding me through the ins and outs of the official offer/ paperwork I needed to provide/ contracts. I'm not well versed in the property process but Barry was always available to answer my questions and offer words of advice. Buying a property is nerve wracking but Barry kept me updated throughout and was available by phone or email- he always got back to me super quickly, which helped to steady my nerves! There was a dubious clause in my contract which I probably would have brushed over but Barry worked hard to make sure it was tidied up and in my favour.
