I had ordered from SD before, and had no complaints. This time I placed a somewhat larger order, which was fine, except for one unfortunate but annoying detail. In this order, along with other coins, was 12 1oz coins of SD's choice . . . OK, seemed like a good deal, except, what arrived is NOT what was pictured. On the website, it shows several example coins, implying that whatever type(s) of coins arrived in the order would be of the type(s) of coins in the picture. It was none of those, but in fact an unattractive type not even pictured on the site. This is rather disappointing, as I was hoping (and paid) for a more credible selection as pictured. The other coins ordered are fine, just as pictured. If I could do so, would send those 12 (10th anniversary) coins back and exchange for coins of the type(s) pictured. I may try to do this, if such becomes possible, will update this review accordingly.

After doing business with this company since about 2012 it is time to part ways. The latest purchase, the General Patton coin, has proven to be a nightmare. First, if your considering buying this coin - don't. The case is too big and the coin floats around inside the case scaring the helmet, face and chin strap. It rattles like a baby rattle. Second, I made a change to my original order of one coin - I increased the order to two coins. This should have negated the shipping cost. I didn't realize it was my responsibility to remove the shipping cost when I spoke with one of the sales reps about increasing (changing) my order. I did ask if there would be a new order number and the sales rep said "no that it would remain the same". When I called to ask about crediting the shipping amount back to my credit card - which they did - the customer service rep was so rude I told him that he has broken trust and that I would not being doing business with SD Bullion any longer. Then, I called back to find out about replacing the coins - more than $320 order for two coins - and the sales rep said that I needed to take photos, a video of the coins moving around and submit those for review so they could determine if the coins would be replaced or what the next step would be. I never mentioned the fact that one of cases, during shipping, had broken. The coin seemed to be unharmed from the breakage so I let it go - it's hard plastic and hard plastic breaks. This is not the first time this has happened with a 5oz coin so I didn't think much about it. Like I said, the coin did not seem to suffer any harm from the cracks and scallop. So, I now own two coins that I was very excited about acquiring and it has turned out to be one of the worst experiences of my 14 years of collecting coins. It's a real shame, too, at one point I had an amazing relationship with the owners of this company and now it comes down to this. It breaks my heart to see such a failure in a family operation. It's okay, because there are other small businesses that will do the right thing to keep my business for the next 12 years.

They are a scam and con artists, they will rip you off. They took $900 for me for an order that was canceled. You can’t reach them by phone or email. I wouldn’t buy a used bag of dog feces from them go with a more reputable company that doesn’t have several hundred Better Business Bureau complaints mostly all about the same thing. Scamming people for cancellation orders when they can’t be reached to be canceled.

Definitely happy with the recent purchases. Love buying first30 tubes. Always mint sealed and in packed so well that I believe handled with great care in the shipping process.

ThIs experience has completely turned me away from precious metals altogether. All the exchanges offer criminal exchange rates, I couldn't get over $3 under spot while you turn around and sell for $3 over spot. That's criminal, I will never buy precious metals again. You take advantage of the fact most people don't have a reliable exchange he nearby and have to resort to larger online exchanges. You should all be ashamed of yourselves, this entire industry is corrupt.
