I have called three times to speak to whom sold me my product and three times they stated we are writing a note to have them call you back. I never once got a call, almost a week later. My suggestion, shop elsewhere, bad customer service

United States | 30 December 2023I went to Gardner White to purchase a new mattress. The mattress I was looking at was a medium to firm. The whole experience was nice. They were delivered next day no problem. Until I went to lay on the mattress. I hadn't looked at my receipt. The salesman had put in an extra furm mattress. And now I've spent over 700 dollars for rock hard mattress feels like laying on stones but I've got to take responsibility for not looking !t my receipt. I'll always pay attention now.

I called to confirm and change my delivery date And found out that they had not even Assigned one withe the department!! I am expecting company for the holiday (It would have been a terrible disapointment had I not received my funiture on time! ) Katrina, Checked and made me another appointment right away via phone. United States | 19 September 2023Purchased a recliner and the Platinum Advantage warranty. The chair was poorly made and was not fit to sit on. Called to have padding added to the chair to see if that would help. Unfortunately, it just created more problems. The chair was slanting to the left when you sit in it. I was unable to even use the chair. Called and had service numerous times. Told mechanism needed changed and that would correct the problem. Changed mechanism and it did nothing to the correction of the problem. Called again and service said that's the way it's suppose to be go to the store and check out the recliner. I did and it was nothing like my recliner. Called again and they said the mechanism needed replacing again. This time they took it to the shop. Bought it back a week later and no change to the slanting. The delivery staff saw the problem and I refused the recliner and they took it back. Again they brought it out a week later and the same delivery staff told service the problem was not fixed. They brought to me and I refused again. Now they just returned to me again and slanting is adjusted but not totally but they raise the seat cushion so much the adjustable head rest now pushes my shoulders not my head. Still waiting to hear back from service staff. Can't believe they treat their customers this way. Still not resolved waiting to hear from service department. Asked to speak to managers numerous times and never a call back. Service came out again today 10/7/2023, i showed the slant in the seat again. The head rest has broken also. The front feet were brought back with no floor guards and has scratched my floor. It has been 6 months of not being able to sit in this chair. Now told they will contact me.

I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP AT THE SOUTHFIELD STORE EVER AGAIN 😒 ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING A SALE. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM IS NEED OF SOME"HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS " TRAINING, THEN THEY PROMISE YOU A DELIVERY ON SATURDAY BUT I DIDN'T IT GET UNTIL TUESDAY !!!! THEN FOR NOT GETTING ON THE PROMISED DAY THEY SAID THEY WOULD GIVE A 100 DOLLAR IN STORE CREDIT....NOT!! THEN I WAS SUPPOSED GET A PHONE CALL FROM MY SALESPERSON...NOT!! YOU ARE THE WORST FURNITURE STORE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH!!!! PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU WANT BROKEN PROMISES PLEASE GO TO GARDNER WHITE!!!!

United States | 18 March 2023I have had one of the worst experiences with both a product and customer service and it was with Gardner White. AVOID GARDNER WHITE unless you are ok with low quality, terrible customer service, and PAYING a 25% RESTOCKING fee even if the product is absolutely unacceptable. We were scammed. The product in the showroom was decent quality but the product that was delivered, a sofa and loveseat, were bad. The cushions were uncomfortable like cheap foam and the fabric was separating in multiple places. The frame of the couch was creaking and we are not overweight people. They DO NOT disclose the 25% restocking fee on any of the paperwork. BE AWARE, Gardner White will keep 1/4 of your money when you are not ok with their low quality product. Other competitors like VALUE CITY ONLY CHARGE up to a 15% restocking fee. I spoke with Mikayla at their corporate customer service number who was supposedly a manager but she failed to provide any resolution or at least a lower percentage to restock given the terrible product.

Walked in and was greeted immediately by a nice guy named Troy, he showed me a few options and it wasn’t long before he pointed out the Serta iComfort hybrid! He went through all the features and in no time at all I walked out owning an amazing bed! Delivery was a breeze! In and out and they were very respectful of my home and belongings! This experience was probably the best one I’ve had from start to finish!!

You are not 3 feet in the store entrance when the salesperson jumps on you with a big smile in the face.. during the whole tour they offer al kind of credit, protection plan..bla bla.. but conveniently avoid to mention that " by the way we keep a quarter of your money for any exchange" .. never in my life will buy anything from this store

United States | 17 November 2022On 9/29/22 I received a sofa from Gardner-White Furniture. On 9/30/22 I contacted them to start a return process. These people are running like chickens trying not to be to be helpful and process the return. I sent a e-mail on their web-order email a month ago. I made at least ten phone call. Do not buy from this company. They are not honest and will take your hard earned money and run with it. Stay away from Gardner-White. I had a seven day window for return. I tried to return within 24 hour of the delivery. No such luck. Good customer service is hard to find. Companies just want to make a quick buck these days. Also a request for return and pick-up was sent on Sept. 29,2022 to web orders. Several phone calls were made . No one ever returned my calls ever. I spoke to Faith at TOV Furniture. She told me that Gardner-White would return my call. Still waiting on that phone call. I followed all the right steps and no one has contacted me. This is a horrible way to do business. I should have read the reviews before making a purchase with Gardner-White. What is that saying "buyer beware".

United States | 28 October 2022Minus a half star because the box came all beat up and I got nervous to the point of taking pictures and preparing myself to battle for a new shipment. But holy cow, the chairs were flawless and shipping was FAST! Like 2 days to get them. And the price was outstanding, literally 1/2 price versus what Ashley was asking. We have the ashley ralene dining set and my wife wanted 2 more chairs. GW's price was unbeatable. I couldn't be happier. I almost feel bad not giving 5 stars.

I received damaged furniture from you. I reported the same day that I received it. Sending pictures and videos. As well as someone advising that someone will follow up. That was on a Saturday, no one called so I called on the following Thursday. I did not receive an apology from the people that I spoke to no empathy. I was treated as of it were my fault. Because I requested the door delivery that was the risk that I took. When what I was told would be an inspection of the damage. The person showed up with a stapler and then informed me that they were only here to repair the dust sheet on the sofa that's all !!! He was almost nasty and told me that " i was being pessimistic because I don't know what he can do" that was disrespectful. Now you say that it will be replaced which that should've been the plan of action all along. Be no I've been disrespected, disappointed, made to wait, no one followed up in an appropriate amount of time. Now I have to look at damaged furniture until you can replace it, if you can replace it! And when will that be. Where is your responsibility is this situation and what consequences do you receive. When you come and get this furniture whenever that is. You will be reimbursed for whatever you paid to the manufacturer. Me I'm just supposed to wait patiently and respectfully. Thanks a lot Gardner White

United States | 20 July 2022We were originally very pleased with the purchase of a couch, love seat, and ottoman. However, within 6 month the couch cushions were worn out as if the couch was 10 years old. We called in on the manufacturers warranty, they took THREE WEEKS to send someone to investigate the claim. They determined we were eligible for new cushions. They still have NOT ARRIVED. That was SIX MONTHS AGO. I've since called THREE TIMES to see what the hold up is, to no avail. They simply tell me, it's a 'supply chain issue and they will call me when it arrives'. Meanwhile, my pregnant partner and I are sitting on a couch that we can feel the springs and the frame through. I'm at a point where I will likely have to purchase or make my own until the arrive (if they do). I even questioned, to Customer Service, why I purchased the Extended Warranty, since the 'guaranteed' Manufacturers Warranty doesn't work, and implied that refund of that purchase may be warranted due to poor business practices. When I did this, I was all but told that's not their problem and I could contact that extended warranty company if I felt that way. So, we started using the love seat more, and what do you think is happening? By the time I get the cushions for the couch, I will have to start this process over again for the love seat. Except I won't be able to, because it has taken so long this time around, that the manufacturers warranty will be up along with part of my extended warranty and I will then be dealing with another company, as it was explained to me. This experience that started nicely has turned in to an expensive, long, nightmare.

United States | 12 July 2022WARNING - DO NOT BUY FROM GARDNER WHITE! It is not worth the risk! Our sectional came completely broken and our loveseat came torn. We called immediately to return them. My husband insisted that he did not want them replaced as the tears showed how cheap the product was. We are still being charged OVER $500 for fees, pillows, and the random gifts they insist on giving you when you purchase the furniture! We feel completely scammed! Avoid Gardner White at all costs!!!

United States | 09 June 2022I purchased a bedroom set in September 2021. The nightstand was missing a part and the dresser had a broken handle. I called and they sent someone out within a week. They did fix the nightstand but had the wrong handle for the dresser. I was told the handle would be here the following week. It is now June 2022 and I still don't have the dresser handle. Every time I call, I'm told it's not in and they'll send an email to the repair department for an update on when to expect it and they will call me with that update. I've yet to receive a call from them and when I do call they are rude. I've asked to speak to a manager and was told they never have a manager in the store. It seems once they get your money you are nothing to them.

Canada | 02 May 2022I just bought a new house and needed something for my living room and family room and one of the kids bedrooms. I spent 13k. The wrong couch set arrived. At the time it looked strange not as nice as I thought but thought ok it looked nice in my room but something was odd. A chair arrived and another item arrived that I didn’t want but was charged for. One item was from a set that I didn’t order from. A love seat I ordered came damaged but I didn’t notice until the movers left. The chair to my kitchen table is so wabbly that you can’t sit on it without falling off. The carpet they sent me was the wrong one.. It was thin and curly. The carpet was not opened at the time the furniture was dropped off. Patti and her partner charged me for a mattress cover over 100 dollars but failed to give it to me. I went in to see them at the store expecting an apology and a plan to make things right. Instead I bumped into Lui who identified himself as both manager and CEO. He had a big Cross on his jacket which I found so disrespectful since everything out of His mouth was a lie. I was told if I wanted the couch set I wanted I had to pay a re-stocking fee. I had to suck up the damaged goods and live with it. Patti the sales woman I worked with called me the next day yelling at me telling me I couldn’t walk into the store and yell. I would like to point out it was Lui who started yelling and telling me to suck it up after I paid 13k in cash. Lui also said to me..I have cash too you aren’t special. I almoat said if you have cash why are you working here. There were several items that were back ordered and no confirmed date of delivery. I immediately cancelled them trying to recover some of the losses of all these sub par items. The salesperson who works with Patti decided to stop the refund and told me he would use the money towards my next purchase. I said to him. I told you to refund me. It took a week for them to agree to refund me on items back ordered and not delivered. On the refund however I do not see the extra warranties I purchased returned. The salesperson working with Patti also told me that I was questioning his integrity In his Job and he has a very good memory. I asked him why he ended up putting 3 different sets of furniture on my bill and charged and sent items that I didn’t want or order. He had no explanation. Once they get your money they won’t deal with you and you will be made to wait. They will do everything they can to keep your money and they will lie to you to get your money. Stay clear of Patti and her partner and the so called manager Lui. Buy at Good Will you will get better service and quality. I would like to note here that I indeed contacted the customer care email and as of yet no response. This is a bad company with vultures who work for commissions. They give you all the attention you want while buying but there is no customer care post purchase.
