United States | 16 July 2021I went into the Gardner white furniture store in Auburn Hills Michigan on July 14,2021. I was there in the store for at least 50 minutes and yet not one sales person had approached me the whole time I was there because they was either sitting around on the floor furniture talking or on their cell phones to notice that I wanted to be serviced. The reason for this review is because the same thing happened to me last month in June and I thought well it was kind of busy that day plus they was having a meeting, but it was the same thing again. So I will never ever go there again.

United States | 15 July 2021We purchased a new couch from Gardner White and after it was delivered we found out The cushion was torn it has been a COMPLETELY NIGHTMARE trying to get through the phone with someone and they put you on hold 15 - 20 minutes ALL YOU DO IS ASK A SIMPLE QUESTION FIRST THING WE WHERE ON A CALL AND SOMEONE GUY CUT ME OFF THE PHONE WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS ARE YOU RUNNING I TELL YOU WHAT ITS SOO UNPROFESSIONAL 😡😡😡😡😡 I WOULD NEVER EVER COME BACK TO GARDEN WHITE

United States | 12 July 2021BOUGHT A MATTRESS 48 MONTHS SAME AS CASH.MADE 2 PAYMENTS 3 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WERE DUEAND THEY CHARGED ME A LATE FEE AND INTEREST.I WAE TOLD THE PAYMENTS WERE OUTSIDE OF THE BILLING CYCLE SO IT COUNTED AS THE SAME MONTH.I TOLD THEM IT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING ANS THEY SHOULD REMOVE THE LATE FEE AND INTEREST.THEY REFUSED TO REMOVE THEM.I WILLNEVER DO BUSINESS THERE AGAIN.

United States | 10 July 2021A recent purchase of a dining room set at Gardner-White furniture in Taylor, MI resulted in delivery of a broken table top (delivery of this was refused), a damaged server, and five dining chairs now sitting in our family room. After contacting the store on 7/2/2021 (delivery day), the customer service representative informed me that they would set up service to fix the buffet and have someone call me back that day regarding the table. After receiving a call about service, we waited patiently for a call about the table top but nothing. I called the store again on 7/6/2021 and spoke with a sales person, she called me back later to let me know that there weren't any tables in stock and that they could fix the broken one and deliver it or I could wait for another shipment which may be the end of July or later. Since I have been waiting for a chair from Gardner-White since March, 2021, that has been on back-order per monthly email updates, I asked about returning the set as the pieces I had weren't going to be useful by themselves. I was told that a refund would be no problem, just come into customer service and request the return. On 7/7/21 we went into the store and requested a return, we were informed that someone would call in 24-48 hours to schedule pickup. Again, we never heard from Gardner-White so I called and was told that a return was never put in and the service call wasn't canceled as requested. I was given corporate contact information to see what could be done. I called corp. customer service & was informed that they could set up a pickup and that there would be a 25% "restocking fee" since I decided not to take the furniture. After explaining that I did not change my mind about the purchase but was left without the ordered and paid in full furniture due to a company/product problem, I was told that they would only charge restocking fees for the 5 chairs and damaged server which will be more than $500 and makes no sense to me. I've asked to speak to a supervisor and was told someone would call me, I'm still waiting for this to happen. Terrible business practices, customer service and overall a slimy company! Go elsewhere to buy furniture!!

United States | 10 July 2021Is the worst company I’ve ever worked with in my life. I ordered a bedroom set only part of that arrived. Three weeks later I have a mattress on the floor I’m 74 years old I can’t get up off of that mattress. I sleep in my car at night because I don’t have a bed to sleep on. I called the company they said that they would That they that I could pick another one I go to the store and they say oh no you didn’t buy the insurance you can’t but you’re stuck with it. Now I’d like to know where the bases to my bedroom sad so that I can put the mattress on the adjustable bottom they said that it will be delivered sometime this week I bet?? Very unsatisfied customer I did vies no one to shop in the store.

United States | 10 July 2021I attempted to buy a love seat and a sofa online, but for some reason they make you provide a picture of your ID and your credit card front and back, when I did in hopes to confirm my order. I got a terribly vague email denying me. When asked why I was declined I got zero help over the SMS service and when I called they put me on hold twice before they took my my number then hung up with no call back. Absolutely terrible service with little clarity and little assistance. Then they had the gull to ask me to come into the store to finish my online order? Then what is the point of having online ordering in the first place.

United States | 09 July 2021Poor customer Support. Received damaged furniture in April and still have not received replacement. No on at Gardner White is responding to our inquiries. All contact made has been by me to them. They keep saying they will inform us via email or phone but never do. Still NO idea when we will receive the replacement.

We definitely will NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM GARDNER-WHITE!!!!! I almost fell for their appealing advertising & went there. Thank you so much for saving us from a horrible experience!!!

United States | 02 July 2021Ordered a living room set - sectional, side chair and ottoman - in July, 2020 from the Macomb Twp. store. Picked the fabrics I wanted (special order). 4 months later it was delivered WITHOUT THE OTTOMAN. First Gardner White said there was no ottoman on my order so I showed them my receipt. OOPs - guess they didn't order it. Expecting another 4 month wait they said they'd handle it. Here it is, July 2021, and still no ottoman. They've pushed out the delivery date so many times I can't count. I left a message at the manufacturer (Bauhaus) to see if they even have an order for this piece. I should give GW my resume - they need a manager who knows what they are doing.

United States | 01 July 2021I have been waiting 4 months for the rest of my beach Croft patio set, was suppose to be here 5 different times, no call to tell you what’s going on, you have to call yourself. I’m not sure why they would promote a product that they don’t have…..No discount, no extending the warranty, I have to pay on it but yet they don’t have to keep they’re part of the bargain. They’ve already deleted my other review on their site because they don’t want their customers to read unpleasant experiences. I have been buying my furniture from there for almost a decade and they have never made me pay for my furniture until I’ve received all of it but now since they can’t keep up with demand different story. They’ve lost my business!

United States | 29 June 2021Debacle. Scam. Unethical. Liars. Bought dining set November 2020. They told us delivery by mid Jan. End of Dec they called and let us know that we should prep for delivery. We sold old table and waited. Never showed up. We called back and were told that parts were on one truck and parts on another so it would be a few more weeks. Weeks turned into months. Husband went into Brighton store and spoke to sales rep and was told April. We started to wonder if they were in financial trouble like art van. So I went Into the store in Jan. and asked our SAME sales person about the table. He didnt remember me. (Masks and all). I told him I loved this table and asked how soon i could get it. He said March. I called him out for lying and cancelled our order right there. By Feb or so we decided to try order again as husband went into the novi art van and they assured him it would come but he had to pay all the money upfront otherwise we would "lose place in line". Wait, what? He did and they told us April, then May, then June. And now everytime I call back I get a two week update. The call center just gives you a two week update. So they transferred me to Novi where the average age is about 23, and I spoke with a guy and asked why I was given a new date in July. Another 2 week extension. I said, hey, if there is a hold up give me actual dates. He said August. Also said he had "no idea who I was talking to who'd be giving me these dates." They are all deeply full of it. I think canceling may be the wisest at this point as they are behaving like a company that may be going belly up. Either that or they have a nice little ponzi scheme going. Worse part? I google the table and they are hawking it on-sale. Redlined prices. Feel free to call me. I run a chamber of commerce 248 444 2420

United States | 29 June 2021Worst experience I have ever had - nothing was on time, quality horrible, no accountability, no manager call backs - no call backs from anyone who promised one actually. Ordered living room 5+ weeks ago and every week, deliver was pushed a week. Still don't have it and now they say it will be another 4-6 weeks - MAYBE. Nightmare - I have probably made 40 calls and talked to 35 different people and not one of them fixed anything or followed up. They just keep quoting policy. Buyer Beware - estimation on their website ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE.

United States | 24 June 2021I bought a couch in May. Didn't get it til the end of June. Spent Father's Day AT HOME without seeing my dad, only to get a BROKEN couch at almost 7pm. THEN, the truck showed up on Monday at 11:30AM AFTER, I was told I'd be at the end of the day. THEN the delivery drivers showed up on Tuesday @ 7:30 AFTER I was told by Lantz told me I'd have it before 7pm. THEN the delivery workers in 15 minutes: dropped my couch off the truck, dropped it in the driveway off the dolly, unpacked my couch in the middle of my walkway, left my pillows on the lawn on plastic, tore off my valance to my blinds, almost tore my ceiling fan out the socket, then left me door wide open, WITH PAINT on my NEW couch. I was told by India that Dejane (both from Auburn Hills) will give me $50 gift card. So 3 delivery dates, 1 holiday missed, time off work early, a damaged blind, AND damaged NEW furniture. Oh, and to get help?, I need to take ANOTHER day to wait OR they can take it back and charge ME 25% restocking fee. REALLY Gardner White? Thanks for telling, and showing me how you really feel. The Taylor store, Ashlyn told me oh well. She was right. Monique from Auburn Hills was helping me but now she's disappeared. This, mind you, is a summation. I also have photos and videos that I did provide as well.

United States | 22 June 20216 months ago we purchased a bed for our 'big' autistic adult son. We were guaranteed by the salesperson that this 700.00 memory foam bed would be more than enough to accommodate him. We noticed a slouch in the mattress after about 4 months after we bought it, and heard a distinctive crunch one night when he went to bed. Later we noticed that the box spring was broken on one side. We called Gardner White to have them come and look at it. The man that came out to look at it turned the box spring upside down, and showed us where the wood was broken and the springs were bent. He said the bed was 'abused', and it would probably not be covered. Today Gardner White confirmed it. How on earth do you abuse a bed??? He slept on it, he didn't jump up and down on it! He wouldn't have any idea how to abuse it! My husband, who has 35+ years of construction looked at it again. The wood that was broken was the worst possible (half rotted junk) wood you could use on anything. It was shoddy construction that broke the bed, not consumer use. Last time EVER we will patronize Gardner White.

United States | 16 June 2021Won't shop here again. Purchased a hightop table and chairs set, and a sectional. Table and sectional arrived, no chairs. Told chairs were on backorder, should come sometime in April (order was placed in late February). Ok, no problem, we aren't in a big hurry. April, and I get an email that they will be here beginning of May. Ok. Another email: end of May. It's now Mid-June and I'm being told the chairs will not be here until AUGUST 22ND. This is 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. If I had known that, I would NOT have purchased these. Also, we were supposed to get free gifts (bike) that wouldn't come until the order was completed. So now instead of being able to have a bike in the summer, we won't get one until the end of summer. This is utterly ridiculous and I wish I would have seen the negative reviews of this place before placing any orders.

United States | 28 May 2021My husband and I purchased a sleeper sofa in January of 2021 from the Taylor store. Our salesman Kenny was great, Our couch was considered special order because of the color. We had to wait 6-8 weeks for it. We got the call late March to set up delivery. When the guys left, we looked at the couch, something didn’t look right. We opened the couch and guess what, no mattress. We contacted the store, which I might add, did not act like they cared. We were told another 6-8 weeks for the mattress. I am so annoyed, and disappointed, that no one gives a crap. My couch is going to be ruined before we get the mattress, it needs it for the support of the cushions on the back of the couch. I received a call 3 weeks ago that it was in, but it wasn’t. I then received a text a week ago telling me mid July. What is even happening. I will NEVER go back after this and I will continue to speak up about this awful service. Making money off of people while our couch is getting ruined. If it wasn’t special order, they would be getting it back!

And does everything correct not just to make a sale or commission!! I couldn't thank Winston enough for making things right for me and my situation. He listened to my concerns, tried to understand, and correct the awful situation from Taylor location. If your headed to the Warren location ask for Winston!!! I will only recommend him, even if it is a drive it worth dealing with such a professional salesman!!

United States | 14 May 20210 wasnt an option. Spent over $12,000 one afternoon. I was told everything is in stock and would delivered next week. Delivery came and I have parts for each room. Not sure when it will be in, they can tell me. I had 3 deliveries so far, 3 days off work and still missing furniture. To top if off I had furniture damage and home damage during delivery and I cannot get anyone to return a call to come fix anything. CROOKS...If you need furniture, Go to a reputable company this is a gloried garage sale. HARD PASS
