joth, I
Australia | 20 February 2025Although the pricing for the things that most registrars would charge for, like domains and web hosting, is pretty much average, please reconsider if you are planning to use this registrar. They try hard to sell you their products, charge money for basic domain DNS records that pretty much every other nameserver with any other registrar will give for free along with the fact that you still can get better value from other registrars. Firstly, they try to upsell their stuff quite intensively, often by trying a bit too hard to make there products as obvious as possible. Although it may not seem like at first, once you go to your domain management page for a domain you own, it becomes quite evident as they place all their products at the top forcing you to scroll down all the way all the time to mange your dns records. Another example of their intensive attempt to sell is their “Domain Club”. Basically, it’s buy a big amount of domains and get a small discount and some cheap products and It sounds lucrative but please don’t be fooled and please do the maths first, you can still find better value elsewhere. Simply, Crazy domains tries to upsell a lot. Secondly, Crazy domains are indeed, in a way, crazy. They charge for a lot of basic things that many other registrars will give FREE. Basics like SRV and TXT records are paywall locked with their nameservers forcing you to pay for their “premium DNS” service which is $26AUD per year (basically the price of another domain) for EACH DOMAIN. Personally, extremely disappointing as a teenager hobbyist that just wants to specify a port of a self hosted Minecraft server for my domain. You have to spend the price of another domain to simply use a SRV record to specify a port or use a TXT record, which are often used for domain ownership verification. Respectfully, to me, it just looks like an attempt to milk as much money from you as they can. If you don’t want your address and phone number to show up on whois, a place to find info about owners of a domain, you have to pay for “Domain Guard” which is $9AUD a year for a service that most good registrars will do for FREE, while charging less for domains too! Crazy domains paywalls the basic things that most registrars will provide free like, DNS records. This is also the main reason why I transferred my domain out of Crazy Domains. Thirdly, There are some other registrars that provide better value than Crazy Domains. If you research a bit more, you will find some registrars who will provide cheaper domain prices (sometimes the price only marked up by just a few bucks!) along with that they might even provide free whois privacy, free email forwarding, literally all the features of Crazy Domain’s premium DNS and/or free SSL certificates WHILE still having cheaper domain prices than “Crazy Domains”. Please try searching around a little more, as some registrars will give better value than Crazy Domains and more free services. If you are considering going with Crazy Domains, Please consider another registrar. Crazy domains will try to upsell intensively, Paywall basic services (especially DNS records) and there are a lot of other registrars that will provide better value than Crazy Domains. TL;DR: Just don’t use Crazy domains and please consider another registrar. They try to upsell a lot, charge for, and paywall basic services and you can find better value with some other registrars. Extra stuff: If you are stuck with crazy domains and need to use something that is in their “Premium DNS”, simply just switch your domain’s name servers to other name servers from other providers that will give you the crazydomain’s “Premium DNS” features for FREE. Note that changing your domain’s nameservers is different from transferring your domain to another provider. You’re simply letting another nameserver hold your DNS records in which you will manage them from there, but you domain would still be registered in Crazy Domains.

Australia | 20 February 2025Been with Crazy Domains for decades, with hosting email, and roughly 50-70 domain names over the years. NOW they start charging $26 per domain, per year, for "PREMIUM" DNS!!!!! Seriously? Never charged this before, so now you need to pay DOUBLE just to forward a domain to a website. CRIMINAL. I will be moving ALL domains, slowly but surely.

Australia | 18 February 2025Constantly moving me to a new server. Every time it breaks my site. I'm expected to pay for it to be fixed. They've cut off my services before they expire because I didn't pay three days in advance. They try force you to pay for two years renewal instead of one. They extort you for more cash for subscriptions to fix issues they create. I've wasted days on end calling to fix issues over the past year, which has costed me time and lost revenue.
