United States | 31 January 2025What bothers me is that MyUS always increases the original weight of packages or when inspecting a package contents MyUS always finds a way to add cost to items that have no cost like catalogs. When sending packages to my suit at MyUS using DHL, UPS, FedEx or USPS the weight is listed on the shipping manifest of the shipping company but MyUS always gets the package and increases the package weight 2-3 times its original weight listed by the original shipping company’s manifest. After inquiring about the boost in weight the answer from MyUS is MyUS apologize and claims that the cost would be the same if I’m shipping something that weights 0.44 lbs or 1.00 lbs, but the truth is that the package ends up with 1.35 lbs vs the its original 0.44 lbs and that increases the shipping cost and import taxes charged at the destination. The weight increase is surprisingly odd and must be because of the “heavy” label sticker with the employee’s face processing the package on it that probably explains increases in the original weight by 3x. I use other package forwarding companies outside the US and 1st they don’t charge me a monthly membership fee and 2nd they honor the original weight with some tolerance (little more or little less) but not 3x the original weight… I shared this fact at TrustPilot to make sure others aware about MyUS weight boost practices they will get when using MyUS…

Your credit card details are stored by them and there is no way to delete the card details in the event that you want to stop them using the card and they have used my card to ship items to me that I have not requested them to and have used my credit card without my authorisation! The only way to remove your credit card details is to cancel your credit card from your bank.

In all honesty, if myUS did not bother offering express shipping and expedited services, it would have been a different story. Probably even 10 out of 10. But the fact that I paid for all the rush order options available and still not receive my goods on time has really affected my perception of the business and its services. I likely will not receive a refund due to the nature of the logistics business where everyone just points fingers but there are several ways where operations can be improved. For instance, simple things such as the offering of expedited services should be removed automatically as soon as issues that would highly likely hinder such services arise. Automated systems can be refined to better identify the goods being shipped. I found it very surprising when correcting the value of the goods I was shipping. MyUS’s system was able to automatically determine the product was a Nerf Toy yet was not able to believe that it cost less than $300. Anyone can search Nerf on Amazon and you can literally buy one for $10. That was a costly delay as the toy was a birthday gift and it didn’t get to me in time in the end. On top of that, I also reached out to MyUS 3 times and only received 1 response. Proving that your following up procedure is nothing more than a tick a box on the list exercise for their customer service kpi. Another service offered with no real need to deliver. Very disappointing and unfortunate that it might not change as this isn’t the first time over the many years I have been using MyUS. As a solution provider, fair enough, they can help ship things that you’re having difficulties with. But make sure to avoid any upselling services they offer. They aren’t reliable.
