Engineer had a puncture on way to 1st visit. So rearrange a new day. Arrived when he said he would and recommend I buy a new one. I needed a heat pump. Which would have been £150 and a bit more plus £99.54 call out charge. Being an old age pensioner I think £99.54 was a lot of money just to tell me my5 year old dishwasher was old. He was a nice gentleman and was very polite. I have since purchased new one. Just sad old one which still looks like new will becoming more landfill.

Excellent first contact with Chippenham base to go through what I thought a washing machine fault was and if a spare part may still be available. A part sourced for a near 30 year old machine and an engineer visit arranged. Contact and updates made throughout and four working days later, the washing machine was up and running again. The engineer only lived down the hill from where I live.

The two engineers that came were knowledgeable and efficient. They gave me great advice and treatment and although not able to fix my dishwasher that was beyond rescue, I was very pleased by their visit

I was very dissapointed with your company, when I rang to explain what was wrong with my tumble dryer I did tell the operator that the tumble dryer was 16 years old, that it was working but there was a noise, we arranged for an engineer to call on Monday morning which I had to pay £93.54. The engineer arrived he put the tumble dryer on listened to the noise and said it was a plastic part which would need to be sourced, he texted a message to the call centre and said if you haven't heard from them give them a call tomorrow. He was in my house 10 minutes at most, he didn't pull the machine out or check inside to be sure that was the fault. No one called me so I rang the call centre the next day to be told they were unable to source the part as the machine was to old, I asked if I would get a part of the fee back as nothing had been done, and the engineer had only been in my house for ten minutes and was told no that is the call out fee. When booking the appointment I had said the age of the machine surely you should not have accepted the call. When I asked the engineer what happens now he said they will call you for the payment for the part, and I will call back and fit it that is in your initial fee.

The young man arrived when scheduled, swiftly diagnosed the problem (a badly leaking washing machine) and fixed it in short order. Can't ask for anything more really.

The guy who came to repair only put an insulation tape and charged £118. When asked the problem he said I’m not a doctor I don’t know the problem.

There are various circumstances where you get bad service, but they take it to the next level. My freezer stopped working. Unfortunately it is a brand that only them can fix in the UK (Kuppersbush - stay away). They advised me to buy a new compressor which duly arrived - £800. After months trying to send someone to the property, when they finally did they realized it was the wrong compressor which would fit the appliance. They did not install it, did a regas only and took the new compressor away in any case so they can keep it, which is theft. The freezer still does not work and they recommend buying a new one for £3000 Customer service is completely defensive and keep saying that the purchase of the compressor is not refundable because I was advised the service, which they never did, would not fix the appliance. By the way, I forgot to mention that while trying to do the work they even manage to break one of the wood panels, as it is a built in appliance.

Whilst glotech provided a swift experience after my fridge freezer became faulty sending an engineer within a couple of days the diagnostic was a terminal one and no repairs were made. On the initial phone call I quoted the make and model number and that I thought it was a failing compressor due to noise, the person on the other end stated that there were plenty of spares available for this model but NOT that this could also lead to terminal diagnostic such as ours, so after a brief visit of only 15 mins and £120 pound down I checked their terms and conditions and it is in there that sometimes a repair cannot be made so please be aware a total fix is not always guaranteed with this company.

One thing I've learnt from decades of procuring tradespeople is that a weak link can imperil a company's reputation or glow. And so it is with Glotech where sadly the overall experience is distinctly dim. Strongly recommended by my environmentalist friends, I called upon Glotech to fix my dishwasher. (Job No. 1210058, Customer Order 225325) which was flipping into drainage mode at the start rather than the end of a cycle. I had an 8am -1pm slot (the engineer arrived at 1.45pm on 6 January) and his diagnosis was that I needed a new pressure switch £42.27; air break £48.25 and power cord £21.83. These were duly installed and along with the £99.54 labour charge, I congratulated myself on extending the life of my machine and avoiding a £500+ investment in a new one. Unfortunately, within a week, the exact same problem occurred. This time a different engineer came out and within 5 minutes stated that the new parts would never have addressed the issue because the machine was a write-off, and needed to be replaced because of ongoing water ingress from the main casing interfering with the electrics. I truly appreciated his honesty but asked why he thought the previous engineer had effectively upsold me three parts totalling £112.35 which did not address the issue and potentially placed me in danger with the ticking time-bomb of electrics being compromised. He speculated that perhaps he had come at the machine from "the other side" and had not spotted the leak compromise. Two observations on that. Firstly, one would expect that if you have a machine problem, resolution diagnosis should be holistic and look at the machine from all sides and angles. More specifically, the replacement power cord goes into "the other side" so engineer one could not have failed to spot it unless he is overdue for an eye test. When it was pointed out to me by engineer two, it was really obvious. There seems to be a training issue here for engineer one. If only engineer two had visited on that first day, not least because he was also on time and far more descriptive about the health of my machine. In conclusion, I feel badly let down and deeply underwhelmed by Glotech. They sold me £112.35 of equipment that was misidentified as solving a problem that according to engineer two, had no chance of ever being fixed. Perhaps I have just been visited by a Glotech version of bad luck and if you are a gambling environmentalist, Glotech could be for you. You might just get the right engineer for the job who doesn't feel he is under pressure to sell unnecessary parts. If you are not prepared to gamble, head to John Lewis, get a new Bosch with a free 5 year warranty and let them recycle your old machine. If anyone needs a new pressure switch, air break and power cord, let me know! Re reply from Glotech: Thank you but as you know, I reached out directly yesterday and am awaiting your reply. I've sent you a further email this morning. Having spoken to the Consumers Association (Which), I have some thoughts on how you can make things right. I look forward to hearing yours.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! My fridge freezer broke down so I booked an engineer online to come next day between 8am-1pm. I took the day off work especially being self employed if I don’t work I don’t earn. Got a call at 9.15am on the day of the appointment from the engineer who said they can’t make it. Absolutely furious seeing as I took the day off work without pay. Tried to call head office to make a complaint but no managers available. The lady on the line shrugged it off. Shocking service if this is how they treat their customers. Please use other companies and avoid Glotech Repairs.
