Bought a second hand car from HPL Preston. Was reassured that the car had a 128 point check and that there would be a 28 day guarantee for any other problems. The car proved a problem immediately as there was an intermittent problem with the clutch and it was difficult to put the car into reverse gear. Got HPL to look at the car and they would not agree that there was anything wrong with it, even though myself, my daughter and my partner all experienced the same problem. I took it to a clutch expert in Manchester who confirmed that there was a problem, so I knew I was being fobbed off by HPL. I was told the clutch did not have any transmission fluid as it was a cable type, yet on the 128 point check, the box for transmission fluid was ticked, which puts doubt on the validity of this check. There were other problems too, the driver electric window kept trying to wind up even when up and the demister switch was broken. Eventually HPL agreed to buy the car back as a loss of £500 to me - what a cheek, I only had the car for one week and the problems were immediate. Don't do any business with them as they are crooks. They are not interested in anything but making money and they made a lot of it because of the car shortage during the pandemic, in the region of about £6 million profit. Go to Arnold Clarke instead, I had a much better experience with them.

I normally avoid buying from this kind of outlet, but I was pleased I made the choice. The sales advisor, Chris was not pushy, he took the time to explain everything so I fully understood the details..... sometimes twice so I could be in no doubt! His approach was relaxing and removed any thoughts I may have had about dealing with HPL when arriving. A big thank you......

Bought my car today from HPL motors, Oldham branch, and from start to finish the customer service has been brilliant across the board. Howard made sure that the whole process went smoothly as possible, even coming into work on his days off, and with such a short time frame for collection was able to get everything complete in time, the backstage team in the garage working twice as hard to meet deadlines of not only other cars but to fit mine in also. Brilliant staff, brilliant service, will 100% recommend to many friends! Very happy customer!

Excellent service at HPL. We went to just browse cars and was greeting by Brian Kaldy. Brian explained the layout of the car lot and advised us to look round with no hassle. We did so and picked out 5 cars we liked and he went to get the keys for us to look inside them. This was then narrowed down to 2 cars which he facilitated us having a test drive. Whilst doing this he valued our car for part exchange and offered a very fair price (more than we buy any car). We made the decision to purchase a car with ours as part exchange. There was no hard sell of any cars or finance packages but he did explain all options open to us. I'd made an appointment to collect my car however something came up and I had to change the appointment at short notice and Brian ensured this could be completed. The showroom was sparkling and looked extremely professional but all staff were friendly and welcoming. I've never been to HPL before but Brian made the experience enjoyable (I find buying cars, stressful) and I won't hesitate to go back there when I'm ready for a change.

We previously came to HPL in Preston over a year ago and dealt with Brian who was amazing. As we had such an amazing experience we decided to come back this year for our next car, Brian wasn’t in on the day we came so we dealt with Alan (who had big shoes to fill!) and he has been just as amazing. I’d honestly give this company a 0 star rating if it was possible. Knowingly sold me a faulty car and refused to recover the car. Actually advised me to drive the car an hour away from my home with a failing ABS to have the car looked at by their other branch. We missed out on our first family holiday since pre Covid and the process for returning the car has left my disabled child without transport for over 2 months. The car has now been returned to the dealership so if your in the market for a grey Jeep Compass I’d steer clear of these con artists. Would not recommend to a friend.

I recently changed my car due to having a baby and needing more space. I saw a model that I had shortlisted at HPL motors (via Autotrader). The advert had lots of photos and was competitively priced. I called the branch for more information and spoke to Leah. Within 20mins of the call I was at the showroom test driving the car. I was impressed with the showroom, the staff and the quality of vehicles on offer. Leah was fantastic. She was professional and able to answer all of my questions. Leah arranged for a part exchange valuation on my car and gave me a fair price (which was much higher than we buy any car). I agreed to purchase my new car and was given an estimate completion date. Leah even arranged for some minor cosmetic repairs to be completed. I collected the car on the agreed date and it couldn't have been simpler. Leah handled all of the paper work and her communication throughout the transaction was excellent. I am very happy with the service that I received, the car that I purchased and I would certainly recommend HPL motors to my friends/family
