My experience hasn’t been amazing. Far from it. I arranged an appointment to test drive a car, and due to money and time with work it was a week in advance so the specific car had sold. That isn’t the problem however. They found me a car to test drive when I arrived, although it would have been nice to know in advance the one I had booked to test drive had been sold. I was promised a call by the call centre that rung from Preston branch to confirm my appointment. That never came although I was on their system when I arrived. We painstakingly went through the paperwork needed, listened to the sales guys spiel on the optional extras. And away he went to check the finance. It got late, a few minutes past closing. He promised to call the following day, there was nothing. I emailed 3 days later (went on the Friday emailed on the more day) to see if there was an update. I was told they were waiting on one more finance company to come back to them and they would call. The original appointment was 2 weeks today. Still no response. Nothing back from HPL. Not even a no, despite me sending 2 follow up emails since the Monday. Prepair to be ghosted if they can’t find you finance!

I have had my last 4 cars with HPL and even though my most recent experience wasn’t the best due to the car being faulty, Kev was brilliant and restored my faith. Great customer service and went the extra mile to ensure everything was resolved, and that I was happy with the outcome. 3 star overall, but 5 star service from the salesman Kevin.

I will avoid this company in the future. Trying to give me completely wrong information when I can see what’s in front of me. Lying about the condition of the vehicle. A very weird experience from start to finish with the cars all behind a fence and no way to just browse them on your own. Unwelcoming, uncomfortable and not a nice experience for spending £20K+.

Upon arrival at HPL, I was greeted by Lewis who made me feel very welcome. Obviously, financing a car first time will always feel quite scary, but Lewis made it very relaxed and easy. Lewis was very real with me which made the experience much more easy, he had a great sense of humour and explained everything thoroughly so everything that I needed to know, I did. I received the car quickly, after Lewis put it through a valet and an MOT, he kept me updated throughout the process and made sure he was available when I was, so that I could collect it as fast as possible. Well it was only a few days ago I hD a little rant, not so much about the sales guy, but all the bumf you have to go through and on-line signatures, I guess I'm too old in the tooth . Anyway my salesman Charlie Heyes redeemed himself and has gone the extra mile to get my car in tip top condition before I collected it. They did a top service and MOT and even filled out all the DVLA stuff, so top marks to him and his manager should give him a raise!

After purchasing the car, there was an issue but it was resolved very quickly. I was also given a courtesy car for the day until completion of the repairs. Andrew dealt with the issue as a priority rather than pushing me to another colleague or team within the business.

I paid for a warrantee for 4 years. All good if you live close to the garage. Now over 4 years have passed and my air con they have failed to repair and it has been in several times. I also had loads of issues with lies from the sales team when I purchased the car which have now been resolved. However I would not return to the garage and I would advise against using the warrantee as if they can not repair a simple air con job then I dread to think if anything major was to go wrong.
