United Kingdom | 13 January 2025BEWARE! What may seem like a good price may not be, and you may wait a LONG time for your item. I failed to consider that my item could be coming from outside the UK, and have today had to pay an extra GBP58.91 on the price advertised on Tattahome's website in customs duty and VAT. I am also still waiting for my item 1 month after ordering it. In fairness, Tattahome's small print does say that the customer is responsible for import duty and vat, so I must take the blame for not wading through the T&Cs. Since placing the order I have been bombarded with emails, including one in Italian. These have mostly been about changes in status for my delivery, on what has felt like a repeat loop (item is coming, item is on hold). With hindsight that's probably because of the duty and VAT needing to be paid, though the mails don't say that (and duty and VAT aren't payable until an item arrives in the UK anyway - when I checked with DHL what was going on, my item was still in Italy!). Then today I had a phone call from DHL UK to tell me what to do at last. Altogether a VERY unpleasant experience. I will not be buying from Tattahome again. Update, 14/1/2025: Yesterday I received an email from Tattahome saying that if I was willing to leave a 5 star review, they would pay the VAT for me. I have declined. I have kept the email if Trustpilot wish to see it.

I’ve emailed the customer service numerous only to be told very rudely that they are still awaiting their smeg shipment which will arrive in the December? It’s now January and still no sign! Please avoid!! They are liars! The lead time on their website states 3-4 weeks bunch of scammers!!

Nothing is happening. I fear they will never send me the appliance and keep my money. You cannot trust these people. Stay away from this company. It is a scam.

Their prices appear competitive, however be prepared to pay VAT fees upon delivery. I wish I had read other customers’ reviews prior to purchasing as several people have mentioned this. I’m not saying don’t purchase from Tattahome, however be prepared to pay additional fees upon delivery - the first I heard about this was a phone call and several emails from DHL. Tattahome need to update their website to advise customers of these fees!!!
