November 2024 I was still waiting for a replacement - despite chasing every month I still did not receive anything. Asked for a refund (c. £1,000) in early November 2024. No action taken by TattaHome. It is now mid December 2024 and I haven’t received a refund and the company isn’t replying to my emails. Truly an awful experience. I would never buy from them again.

United States | 03 December 2024I ordered my Smeg toaster oven on October 8, 2024. The website indicated a 4-5 week delivery. You charged my card on the day I ordered the item when, typically, I should be charged when the item SHIPS, NOT WHEN IT IS ORDERED! You held my money for over 7 weeks before delivering it. I was forced to pay an import duty which was unbeknownst to me when I made the purchase. Thus, DHL held it a few more days while awaiting payment from me (which at first I thought was a scam!) Then, to top it off, you send me the oven with a European plug so I have to buy an adapter!! If you ship to the USA, you should ship what can be used here!! In short, I should have ordered it from Williams Sonoma (where I ordered my Smeg coffee machine and toaster) and saved myself a lot of headache! In the end it wasn't worth the $100 I saved - lesson learned.

This is the only shop which both ships to Cyprus and has reasonable prices. The delivery is FedEx, so it was pretty quick too. The package and the items are totally fine as well. This is definitely not my last time shopping there. Grazie mille!

United Kingdom | 03 December 2024This is a difficult review to place, but the fact is, as a customer, the price you see is not what you will pay. Tattahome along with other foreign importers advertise cheap prices, and in the details they state 'no duties to pay'. Weeks later (and this is fair, there is advice about how many weeks it will take to receive the item) you get a flurry of emails saying your item has been dispatched, etc. Then you get an email from Fedex, the carrier in our case, requesting payment of VAT. VAT is not a duty, it is a tax, so Tattahome are not being dishonest. But it would be so much more honest for Tattahome to state that you will not only have to wait, but also pay 20% VAT plus a small (around £10) fee to Fedex for the pleasure. So one star, or four stars? We all understand we have to pay VAT, but it's the concealment of that truth re VAT in Tattahome's marketing info to customers... Tattahome have been very good in responding to our emails querying the VAT and trying to explain how despite their original assurances, there's a significant extra cost you will have to pay if you want the item. We initially ignored the requests for payment. But once you have taken receipt of the goods, the carrier will send you an invoice by post. Don't get me wrong, it's still cheaper than paying full UK list price on the item we ordered. It's the lack of transparency. In the end, for the relatively small amount you save in the end (for us it was less than 20%) you have to decide whether it's worth the wait, and the aggro of unknown extra fees. Or just go to a UK retailer and support UK businesses. 'Experience' on this review is dated here 29th Oct, we're placing our (only) review on 2nd December, once the process has been completed and the dust has settled.
