First experiences were excellent with a friendly phone call and explanation of the process. Then I was referred to a solicitor who never contacted me in March 2021. I chased a month later and the referral email was resent, still nothing. Eventually I got my searches through in the post. My building work was delayed so when my flat was ready in mid September I chased for my paperwork and was told I was 'not a priority'. There were several issues but long story short today I finally completed. My solicitor was rude to both myself, my mortgage advisor and the buildings company. I am lucky I am buying a new build and not in a chain or this would have fallen through. On top of everything, I have about £200 of extra fees on the final quote. I contacted homeward legal several times, asked for a new solicitor, never got a phone call back from them. They were apologetic on the phone but never got anywhere. Go somewhere else, pay a bit more and don’t delay your move.
