I was so impressed by this company when I used them for the first time recently. Great service, fast delivery and really enjoyed the fish and shellfish but the amount of SPAM they are now hitting me with is mental. 3 emails a day and whatsapp messages. I am happy to hear about deals etc but this is over the top. Actually making me want to unsubscribe and use another company.

First time ordering. Main part of my order was mussels for a Saturday evening dinner for six. DPD texted delivery by 4pm but didn’t arrive and now promised for 5 pm today Sunday. I want to give my family freshest possible mussels but my order is already a day older. It’s not convenient to prepare mussels for family members coming in at different times during the week. So if these don’t arrive today, they will have to be thrown away. Discovered today website says orders might be delivered the following day. My learning from this is not to order again and not try to order for specific meals. Very disappointed and irritated.

Way over priced for what it offers. In particular the pair of dressed lobster were tiny and almost in the rip off category. Won’t be ordering again.

Again - as other reviews very poor delivery ( and it is not the first time either ) Order placed 8th February and is now 14th still no delivery by DPD. Customer service Fish Society, sadly, did not even have the courtesy to reply to my email.

This was my first order from the Fish Society and I am really disappointed, not only in the fish I received but in the fact that I wrote a review for their website and, despite my chasing, it has not been published. Had it been published, I might well have given them another chance. Instead I looked at the reviews on Trustpilot. I wish I had done so before ordering! I ordered the butterfly red mullet fillets. But they weren't filleted! Not only were there many bones throughout, but there was a "spine"-like row of bones down the middle. I had to cut this spine out, leaving me with four tiny fillets (after I had filleted them) instead of two nice sized butterflied fishes. The bones were huge! The fins along the back of the fishes were still intact! All in all a messy and disappointing experience. Especially so as Fish Society is one of the few suppliers were one can buy "naked scampi" - although they required thorough cleaning and a couple of them were clearly well beyond fresh.

Being a fish/shellfish lover decided to give this company a trial. I was aware of the mixed reviews but ordered rock lobster tails/crab fishcakes/whole cooked crabs. Arrived within 24 hours (without any 'quick delivery' payment.) Within a strong box with plenty of frozen gel pouches - so completely frozen. Have defrosted/cooked crab cakes and lobster tails - both were great. Whole crabs are for later in the week for crab bisque from scatch. I can only give my experience but noticed negative reviews often referred to customer service which I have had no need to access. So 5 stars unless cooked crabs let me down! ...

We monitor courier deliveries via the courier's website - that’s their claim but I informed them 3 hours before delivery date that DPD had my order in Basingstoke- 160 miles from me.If they were monitoring they would have know there was a problem. No response to 2 emails so I phoned at 5.00pm and they confirmed that my order was still in Basingstoke and would now be destroyed. There are other suppliers of fish so will reorder elsewhere. Customer service was pleasant on the phone but I couldn’t be certain the next order would be received- so no first time tasting of scallops for my daughter in law- yet. I’ve changed the rating to reflect immediate refund.

I ordered a chicken with giblets. There were no giblets. I got my hand right up in the ol' chicken cavity and not a giblet to be found. I had promised my dog giblets for dinner. She was very disappointed. It may take some time to rebuild the trust between us.

I admit I was regretting to have ordered from them as per the bad reviews below. However, my fish arrived fully frozen and included explanations on why it’s not a problem if it wasn’t fully frozen. I haven’t tried the sole yet, but looks great.

The lobsters were watery, not in any condition that should be sold as reasonable food. Both lobsters were the same. I believe that they had previously been defrosted and refrozen, possibly several times. I defrosted them as instructed, in a fridge. The lobster was in terrible condition, watery and grey. When cooked, it was as expected - bad. We cooked the product according to the recipe, we then threw the lobster and meal away. I suggest that your company should not continue to sell this product, or maybe any others, if this is your normal level of quality. You could possibly be putting people in danger of food poisoning, for which you would be correctly responsible.

I was supposed to receive my order on 29th December but it still hasn’t arrived 2 days later. I’ve contacted them twice via email - no response and I’ve called but no answer. I want a refund asap. I appreciate at Christmas it is more difficult but any communication would be good as it feels like they’ve just taken my money. Would not buy again.

missing items - order 795385 arrived without the peeled crab claws £24.60 - when you call the customer service number it asks you to email their customer care team - understandable as its new year's eve today but really disappointing experience so far - never again for me I think. - Update, the refund arrived as promised - I’ll chalk this one down to ‘mistakes happen’ and have adjusted the rating accordingly.

Absolutely awful experience. Placed an order on 9th of December for delivery on 28th for a new year’s meal. Two items, both premium products costing over £60 each. Delivery arrived on 28th but only one item was in it. No sign of tuna saku blocks that were supposed to be the centrepiece of a new year’s meal. As of writing this, despite trying to call them (please email us) and emailing them several times I have had zero response. They’ve stolen £65 off me as things stand, and I want my money back. Do not order from this company. At all. Update: finally they respond after almost a month. Avoid them like the plague.

They choose when to answer complaint emails. Delivery was left on my doorstep in full sunshine. After finally getting them on the phone a replacement was agreed. The quality of the product is very poor. Smoked salmon is dyed, when it defrosts the pink dye runs out and stained my white worktop and it appears synthetically smoked. Its almost like they covered it with a flavouring instead of actually smoking it. The Lobster fell apart, that's a sign it's old. Lobsters enzymes break down when old and the meat goes mushy. Overall really poor quality and I do not recommend. Poor customer service, poor product and should be avoided at all costs.

I had a couple of deliveries which were fine but then the last 2 were not. My fish appeared to have defrosted a little before arriving which I was told was ok (but I wasn't so sure). I had ordered a pack of frozen clams and they seemed to have defrosted and when consumed I did have a bad stomach for the next couple of days. We also ordered some prawns (which we had ordered perviously) but when these were defrosted they looked like they had been dredged up and were gritty and unappealing. I threw most away. Am going to look for a different supplier

I bought a wild whole monkfish tail advertised as membrane removed £64.80. The membrane was not removed and it had a tail and a fin still attached. I wish I had taken a photo of it as this was one for trading standards. I have tried to contact them but got no response. My black lab Cara Mia (15 years old) enjoyed her fish supper as it was inedible for us but a lab will eat anything.

I would give four stars to my first order, but only one star to my second. All the products in my first order arrived perfectly frozen. However, in my second order, everything arrived thawed. I contacted them repeatedly, but received unsatisfactory responses. I will not order from them again. Below was their response... "We do appreciate your concerns - as long as you receive your items cold to the touch, as if they have been in a fridge, they are safe to consume and to freeze. We do try our best to get items delivered hard frozen but we do not guarantee it." "As my colleague Cassandra highlighted, we do always aim to have our products delivered frozen but inevitably there is always the possibility that things may arrive partially or fully defrosted. If they were still cold to touch then they are perfectly safe to eat/freeze."

The fish that we ordered arrived ok. However it cost us £44.70 for 362g; we considered that to be very expensive. The digital log in has gone haywire; it allocated a named person from near Maidstone to my account -- I live in Cambridgeshire. My account has since been deleted completely, and my order details have gone. I asked about this and I was stonewalled. I now get multiple marketing messages from Amy, who turns out to be a bot.
