When I phoned them up and described the problem, they assured me that they've been in business for over 30 years and will aboslutely certainly fix my washer dryer. The person who showed up didn't have experience with the brand of my washer dryer and had to call his colleagues to find out what the problem *might* be! Charged £95 (£79 + VAT which they haven't mentioned over the phone) and left without even giving us a reason for the breakdown. Absolute scamers.

United Kingdom | 19 May 2022I asked Capital to send someone to repair a blocked gas jet on our Rangemaster cooker. Then, without asking, Gabrielle also checked and cleaned the other jet. Then he checked and fixed the oven door. Also, checked and fixed the extractor fan. Even gave me advice about why one of my fuses was tripping elsewhere in the kitchen. Really, I couldn't have asked for any more. Really friendly and helpful, and feels like I've got a new cooker. I am cancelling my BG Homecare and will just use Capital in future

United Kingdom | 19 May 2022Called Capital because our Samsung fridge freezer wasn't getting cold enough over the last 3 days. Gent came today, after poking around a bit said that the compressor was shot because of a gas leak which he said he couldn't track down. He recommended a replacement compressor which he said they wouldn't get from Samsung - me fearing a cheap clone unit declined, especially when he told me even with a new compressor they couldn't guarantee the leak could be found and remedied. Fearing I would lose any hope of claiming back the cost of the 10-year warranteed invertor compressor (Samsung fridge was 5 years old, so 5 years outstanding warrantee) would be lost, I declined. He then told me he'd broken a pipe so most if not all of the remaining gas had now escaped - the excuse given was that was the way he checked for low gas! Now our fridge was worse than before he arrived! Eventually we arrived at the point where he installed a "bullet valve" and when I asked for, and agreed a refill hoping that would see us through until we can afford a replacement he proceeded to do that. Total cost to us now is £222.00. 2 hours after the man from Capital departed, the fridge stopped cooling altogether, assumedly loss of refrigerant. The compressor still runs, quiet as it ever has done so I doubt the "compressor is shot" story but no way of proving that. I wish I'd never called Capital. We now have a defunct fridge, out of pocket by £222 and little hope of getting a comparable replacement.
