United States | 05 May 2024Gave them another chance and they screwed it up again I had four lines, asked to add two lines back after an attempt to leave to what ended up being an even worse service (hello mobile)... But when I came back I was forced to use another credit card. Then with my exact same personal red pocket created a separate billing account. After spending more than hour with their support trying to avoid this... we gave up for the moment. Then came the real nightmare over the next three weeks trying to get the two phone numbers ported in. FIVE TIMES I had to ask hello mobile to unlock the numbers, because RedPocket could never get to the number transfer within the 72 hour window before the number was locked again by Hello Mobile. I finally asked RedPocket "What's the plan?" in an email, they didn't respond so I unlocked the number again to have it transferred to Boost. Then without replying to my email, RedPocket intercepted the first number and added it to the RedPocket account. The timing was insane. You can't make this stuff up. They can't do what you want them to when you want them to, and when you no longer want them to do it, they then magically within a few hours intercept the number and charged me, right before going out of town for three days!!! I was then left with no cell phone service for my trip. Was using wifi to look up directions and writing directions on paper. Took me back to the early 2000s. Not a big deal, but still somewhat comical timing. So I had no choice but to call them and get the cellular service going. Since I needed hotspot during the trip I then asked for hotspot to be added to the account... after no less than five calls with RedPocket support, they couldn't figure out how to get the hotspot to work on my phone. So I was getting on unsecure public wifi. I'm sorry, but it has been hell to get anything done with redpocket. The cellular data at RedPocket is poor too with some key sites I need to access "timing out." The only reason to keep trying to make things work with an existing carrier, is you know that every carrier is a pain in the butt to work with. Leaving one pain for another is the only thing that keeps you with the current pain. Once upon a time I worked with metro PCS and before they were bought, their support was awesome, every time, even on the hard issues. But they don't exist any more.
