However, i needn't have worried, the experience of buying a used car from John Banks Honda Ipswich has been positive and satisfying. This was mainly due to the excellent service provided by sales specialist Kymberley. Friendly but professional, eager to help without being pushy, efficiently and patiently answering all my questions, Kymberley has been a pleasure to deal with throughout and ensured the whole process was smooth and straightforward. With a service, a 12 months MOT, warranty and breakdown cover included, I'm set up for the year ahead and should i require any after sales care, I'm confident John Banks will provide it.

She explained the details of the car as I had never driven an automatic or hybrid before. We were invited to come back the following week to go over some more details which we did. United Kingdom | 16 January 2022I paid £500 to reserve a car and completed an 80 mile round trip to view it with the intention of purchasing it the same day, only to experience the most shockingly rude and unprofessional customer service. I noticed some damage to the vehicle that wasn't disclosed prior to my visit, despite me asking. The damage meant that the bodywork surrounding the front nearside headlight was out of line by about 4mm and the headlight had a build up of condensation where there was obviously a gap somewhere. I questioned what could be done to rectify this damage only to be told "it's a 7 year old car, what do you expect" and "well I've got two other people who are genuinely interested" in a very sarcastic, rude tone. I was then told that there was no damage because it wasn't on the inspection report done by the service team. At this point I obviously decided I didn't want the car because of the damage and the salesperson's rude approach to customer service. The salesperson then slammed the card machine in front of me to issue a refund and there wasn't even so much as a goodbye, although the didn't say hello when I arrived either so I shouldn't have been surprised by that. As some constructive feedback I'd suggest that the manager invests in some additional training for the salesperson so that correct communication skills and sales techniques can be taught.

United Kingdom | 22 December 2021Tried to phone Cambridge John banks and of course got a rude salesmen who was nice to me when buying a car oops sorry 2 cars . But quite the opposite once money has been done . Cant name and shame but if I could I would But so I asked for the sales manager of John banks Cambridge and he said . No worries will phone you back later today . WELL THAT WAS A WEEK AGO AND STILL WAITING . Very poor company. And to say out and out lies about my behaviour is totally wrong you weren’t saying that when I was buying 2 YES 2 cars from you biggest mistake I made

Cancelled the transaction, Promised refund, never got one, sent complaint, no answer or reply. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

United Kingdom | 29 August 2021I have had an absolutely disappointing experience with the service and staff there. Their engineers did not test my car carefully and delivered a faulty car to me. By the time I noticed that there was something wrong with my car, I was trying to drive back to their garage but it was closed. I had no choice but had to contact to the closest service to bring my car back to them the next day. In the next day, they first said there was nothing wrong with the car and then admitted that there was a fault with the car. There was absolutely no apology and they also refused to refund the service I paid for to bring my car back to them. I contacted the manager but he again was just like his staff, no apology. I was trying to contact the CEO to go to the bottom of this. Absolutely disaster and definitely would not recommend them to anyone.

United Kingdom | 25 August 2021Incompetent and dishonest. Gave my wife's Jazz and MOT last year but failed to provide a certificate ("You don't need one these days Madam"). When I looked up the certificate this week on the DVLA website there were several advisories that we knew nothing about because JBH hadn't told us. So my wife has been at risk all year. Edit: Asked me to send them the details, which I did, and never heard from them again.

United Kingdom | 19 August 2021The purchase of a new Honda CRV hybrid was straightforward - having bought several Honda cars before I knew what to expect. However when it came to collecting the car from the dealer, it was a very very poor service. I was given the keys and expected to get on with it, as the car was the same as I had before, which was not strictly the case. It is an automatic and a hybrid which I have not had before. The salesman said he couldn't show me any of the functions due to Covid - he was totally not interested in me or the car once it was sold. He went off and was walking about the forecourt on the phone, my wife had to call him back to remind us how to even start the car! He said anything I wanted to know would be on a video link from Honda which would be sent to me. At the time of selling the car, the salesman said several times that he would ensure there was a full tank of petrol in the vehicle on collection, my wife was there and also heard him say this. We assumed he would be good to his word, and not being familiar with the instrument panel we did not notice on the day that the tank was not full. Subsequently we realised that there was probably actually on a 1/3rd of a tank petrol in the car when we collected it. I have since spoken to him twice, about this when we have had subsequent problems with the car and mentioned that he had not provided a full tank of petrol, that had been promised - he was going to look into it and contact us. Obviously we have heard nothing further - the full tank of petrol was his offer as part of his sales pitch. I also want say that the Honda Owners Guide provided with the car is not user friendly it does not use straightforward terminology for someone who is not a car mechanic or a computer geek! The Honda video is extremely good but my car is parked outside my house and my computer is indoors - by the time I have gone out to car I have forgotten what the video was showing - I am one of the many people who do not have everything on a mobile phone.
