United Kingdom | 15 October 2024The worst renting experience I have ever had. I have rented through Stirling Ackroyd (Bermondsey branch) for the past 2+ years and have dealt with several individuals. I have constantly been met with unprofessionalism and unhelpfulness. The worst of our situation during our tenancy was when our boiler broke in January and Stirling Ackroyd left us without hot water and heating for 30 days due to their lack of communication and urgency. This resulted in us reaching out to the landlord directly who dealt with the situation immediately. I genuinely do not know what they do on the daily as it does not seem to be managing properties. They also cannot read their own contracts they drafted and tried to take out money unnecessarily from our deposit at the end of our tenancy. Would never use again.

In a flourishing, fluid market, some of the agents are young, slickly competitive and as fast as Flash Gordon. Others are more measured, experienced and steady. I have learned that all of them are incredibly dedicated, hardworking and inevitably successful, but it was the latter set of qualities that drew me to Stirling Ackroyd. That may say more about me than it does about them, but as one complication after another surfaced, I learned to appreciate their solid advice and innate wisdom – especially as I was a complete novice in the business of selling a house. The process took at least two months longer than it should have due to the problems we faced! But we got there, and the date of final completion was a wonderful day and cause for great celebration! I want to thank the Stirling Ackroyd Sales Progression Team for their hard work but, more especially, the amazing bunch at Streatham! Wayne and Anthony, thank you so much for walking me through a daunting process, answering my panicked cries for help – sometimes outside of office hours - and for your grace, humour and integrity in dealing with my ignorance. Thank you to your colleagues, too, for their efficiency in handling my queries. I would not hesitate to recommend Stirling Ackroyd to anyone looking for help in selling a property. Thank you again!

It took their surveyor six attempts to write a satisfactory report for MHBS before funds were released, causing a long delay and issues with our New builders having to find other financial routes to keep our new build project going. There were no issues with the LTV but poorly written report caused delays

Kuwait | 19 September 2024The agents were ONLY unbelievably helpful BEFORE YOU SIGN THE CONTRACT. After that they just disappeard. One area manager even tried to violate one clause in the contract, trying to make a view for potential buyers 3 months prior to the end. We reported that we need small fixes for the lights and NOBODY CAME. Horrible service. Complete fraud.

Then it was Harry who again was so helpful friendly that we dealt with mostly, very professional, he really was on the ball and nothing was too much trouble for him. He Mostly looked after us all the way through it .He was always willing to go above and beyond to help us in anyway. Every time I phoned I was greeted with a friendly and helpful approach. The sale of the property and the buying of our new property was made so much easier by having the trust in these guys. I never felt anything was too much trouble for them. Also Ben Was a delight to speak to and very professional. Johnathan again, was very professional and assertive and reassuring. What a great team, I highly recommend sterling Ackroyd and these guys made our experience as stress-free as possible. Can’t thank them enough.

United Kingdom | 07 September 2024***RENTERS BEWARE*** I am posting this review as a sincere warning to anybody thinking of renting a property with this grossly incompetent organisation. At the end of me and my partners tenancy we were disgusted to be informed that we would be only be receiving just over £100 of our £1600 deposit. The reasons stated were that the flat was left in an 'uninhabitable' condition. A statement which was completely at odds with the check out report. We were also informed that the place was 'riddled' with bed bugs. These bed bugs were supposedly situated within the sofa bed, one small issue (I'm being generous using the word 'small' here) is that we were never informed that the sofa was a sofa bed and never used it as such. This means that we moved into a property with a sofa bed that wasn't declared as such that was supposedly filled with bed bugs from a previous tenancy. We were charged over £1000 for fumigation services, sofa removal and purchase of a new sofa. So, this bombshell was dropped to us in a cold and informal email shortly after our tenenacy and we were informed that if we disagreed with their assessment we would have to follow the arbitration process. Me and my partner spent countless hours on this form providing irrefutable proof of lying, gaslighting and pointing out numerous instances of gross incompetence over the 12 months we had the displeasure of dealing with this trash company. The arbitration process was an unnecessary and extraordinary mentally taxing process which I will never forgive Stirling Ackroyd for making us go through. I'll end on some good news. The arbitration process was a success and we were found in the right and recovered the majority of our deposit. I really hope that someone reads this and decides to steer clear of renting from this company. I'd actually love more than anything if someone we had the displeasure of corresponding with during this process is reading. Thanks for returning OUR money (under duress) we're going on a nice holiday x

The landlord lied about charges when I left the property and they did nothing to help in the dispute. After asking me for the evidence which I provided they still did nothing. Be very wary and the are saying that I cannot get the money owed back

We were having some issues with this company that were not being resolved and it was becoming increasingly frustrating. David happened to pick up the phone when I called in again and even though the issue we were having was absolutely nothing to do with him, he was brilliant - not only did he take my issue seriously, he dealt with it immediately and also followed it up until the issue was actually solved. We had been having problems resolving the issue since April/May, I tried to speak with 4 other people, but made no progress and David resolved it within 1 day. Not only are we really grateful for the issue being solved, but the speed and manner with which it was done - he was polite, calm, efficient and just a really nice person to deal with - thankyou!

Not only did he sort my viewing times out rapidly, he also recommended another property that I actually liked even more than the first, his colleague who picked up on the lead was also really helpful during the viewing tour that David organised.
