United Kingdom | 18 November 2016My partner and I stayed in a New Town apartment billed as "Beautiful Flat With Private Garden". On Fri 16 Sep 2016 - Fri 23 Sep 2016 (7 nights). This was the second accommodation they found in a week as the one we had booked five days before this in Marchmont and fully paid up front was re-rented by the owners, who were also advertising on another website, for a fortnight at a higher rental to someone else. They returned the money immediately except for Edlets' commission. Edlets only offer was to find somewhere else,which to their credit, they did the next day. Once again we paid up front. when we got to the flat we found all the owners' personal belongings in the flat, including a laundry room and 'dressing room' which contained a lot of their washed and unwashed clothes, an open make up bag and half a can of cola. The fridge contained food,including some out of date milk, and the kitchen shelves had the owners' food on them. Edlets admitted that they had never inspected the flat. When the owner arrived he said he actually lived there and they were going on honeymoon. He also said he rented the flat out in its current condition all the time on AIRBNB. Edlets were also unaware of this. And made no offer of compensation or alternative accommodation. Then the owner asked us where we were going to park our car. It turned out all the parking in the area was permit only. Any public parking spots were £2 per hour for a maximum of 4 hours, so the car could not be left all day (if we could be lucky enough to find a spot) for a trip to town. I asked Edlets for help on this and their curt reply was that if the flat was not advertised with parking (it wasn't) then that had nothing to do with them. Eventually we reached an agreement with the owner regarding his belongings, and made our own parking arrangements. But Edlets were absolutely no help at all. They basically did not want to know.

Canada | 09 November 2016I had tried to find accommodation in Edinburgh for a few nights in August with another company but was frustrated when the apartment I wanted didn't get back to me. Places were booking up quickly and my anxiety was rising. Edlets phoned me at home, in Canada, and offered to help. I was shocked, surprised and so relieved that there was someone out there looking out for us. That afternoon I had a list of 10 places within our price range. I found a perfect fit for our family of 5 and booked it that day! When you are planning a month long European vacation it can be very stressful trying to get all the parts of the journey to fit together. Thank you Edlets! I know this trip will be the journey of a lifetime!

Lovly on the phone and email. I have seem reviews about the deposit being non-refundable and having a low rating. The non-refundable deposit doesnt concern me as i definitely will be attending the property that i booked. I also assume that all deposits everywhere are non-refundable. So definitely cant give a lower rating based on that!

We also wanted somewhere in central Edinburgh. After looking through lots of properties, Edlets finally came up trumps. Very pleased!

The owners then responded quickly to offer availability and total cost and the choice was then up to me. Apart from the speed I liked that I could respond to each offer individually and quickly and either 'decline' or 'book' from the same page that linked me to the property details. I'll definitely be using this site again.

I enquired about several apartments which seemed to meet our requirements. Then a member of Edlets staff telephoned with an offer of further help. She sent through information about a few more options which were selected with our needs in mind. I booked one of them.

After I sent a number of requests through the website I had a call from Dan the next day to tell me he was looking at others he thought may interest me. He also rang at an appropriate time despite me being in New Zealand. The day after I had another email from Mark saying that the office would be closed over the weekend but they'd be back on to my queries early next week. The website is easy to use and unambiguous, unlike some others I'd tried. Well done, Edlets, great job!
