United Kingdom | 26 April 2022Original salesman very pleasant, attentive and helpful, but the actual job was delayed twice -3rd time lucky! We ordered a spy hole which was missed and still not been fitted. We are pleased with the finished result but too many hiccups on the way.

United Kingdom | 25 April 2022Sales person spoke competently compared to other companies, price reasonable and fitting occurred in timely manner. However, there has been continual problems with the door with lock mechanism not working and when working draft from edges of door. Mechanism replaced (lengthy process with different fitters visiting). Also damp appearing under the window on internal wall. Fitters resealed window but has not resolved the problem and concluded nothing more they can do. As a result I would state that after sales service is significantly below acceptable levels.

Small matter with faulty front door lock that took three differernt visits to rectify but these things happen. Point was, calls were always answererd and dealt with promptly which is all one can ask for! Would reccomend!

A follow up visit was needed to tweak the hanging of one of the doors but this was arranged speedily and without problem.

United Kingdom | 17 April 2022This review is based on the experience of getting a quote. I have placed an order but time will tell if it is still five stars. We needed a new front door and I contacted two well known national companies. We have used both in the past so were happy that they could produce a decent product. We were aware that our door was narrower than the norm and we also wanted a particular make of automatic locking to fit into the existing system we have. The first rep arrived and spent some time on sales pitch telling us how wonderful their windows were including carrying a large sample and going through the details. This despite me repeatedly pointing out that I wanted a door. We eventually we got a price but not totally convinced he really had a handle on the requirements. Then the Britelite guy arrived. Measured the door and immediately identified a problem with the size which would also have applied to any supplier. Some time was then spent checking which doors would overcome the issues and their pros and cons. He was a also able to discuss the fitting of the remote control we wanted to ensure the door would be compatible. Overall the guy came across as knowing what he was talking about. We came to a decision on the best options and a price was calculated. Britlite was actually the more expensive offer but my wife and I had confidence in what was being offered so Britelite got the order.

United Kingdom | 16 April 2022My rating is for the whole experiance. I chose Britelite because they came out near the top of a Which survey of customers. One thing I dreaded was a visit from a hard sell salesman. I did my interview on line. I provided pictures and measurements. It was a pleasant experiance and worked well. The surveyor seemed to take a long time to turn up so I contacted Britlite. Apparently the surveyor for my area in Essex had recently retired. Surveyor did not have a ladder so lucky for him I had one. I was having a new front door and window and landing window. The latter is higher than many houses , the surveyor took photos of access. I was given an installation date and was also updated by emails of what was happening in the process of manufacture. The installation team of two arrived when expected but had no access equipment for the landing window. For the outside I had been told by the surveyor to expect a portable scaffold tower, they just had a ladder. For the inside they really needed some sort of decorators ladder on the stairs but mearly had a low platform to allow the installer to sit on the window sill and work, not good really. I think this lack of access made the job more difficult to do but the installation was good. When it came to removing my old front door the team chose to lever the door from the frame rather than simply undo the screws on the hinges...why? It took them ages. I noticed during the installation that there were some holes in the plaster and brickwork around the whole frame. I later discovered that these had just been hidden behind wall paper. The caulking around the frame was unsightly as the paint from the old door was on the edge of the wallpaper and was visable if that makes any sense. I am now filling in the holes and gaps myself with sand and cement and decorative fillers. I think 'Dartford Crossing Anxiety' was creeping in. To do a good job they really needed a day and a half rather than the one day allocated. I will be redecorating around the front door but to be expected I think.

United Kingdom | 11 April 2022Window was fitted well but all the gaps and cracks were filled with clear silicone sealant instead of wood filler as it should have been. This made it impossible to paint without removing the seal and replacing it with filler. The finish was not expected and cost more time and money than anticipated.

United Kingdom | 10 April 2022my name mis-spelt on contract which was delayed as agent did not use email/internet. surveyor mocked agent for not using technology on day before fitting, morning appointment delayed till pm and I accepted. Then fitter not arrived within timescale I was given, so I rang office. I was told she would call back to let me know what was happening. No call back 1-2 hours later but fitter had arrived. I called office again, and still no answer as to lack of communication. I was going to be put through to a manager, but they were in a meeting till end of day. I said I would be at work from a certain time when told someone would call in the morning.......they called 1 hour after I had said I would be at work! I called back at end of day and spoke to assistant manger who said he had not seen any internal email or message about my issues but would get back to me the following day and I requested that be by email (which I given to BriteLite at the start of the whole process. The following day he called again when I was at work and said he didnt know my email. The whole thing was totally ridiculous, no customer service, no internal communication!

The window fitters arrived on time and all looked well, however when he had finished and I was looking at the finished product I found I couldn't close the door, the fitter said that I had to 'slam' it shut, which he did, this must have broken something inside as it wouldn't lock, after fiddling with it for a while he finally admitted that he couldnt fix it. He said he would have to get someone else to fix the lock as it was obviously broken, but it was Friday afternoon and he couldnt get anyone today and they don't work on a Saturday, I said are you going to leave me with a door I cannot lock? Basically the answer was yes, so he gave me a lump of wood to wedge in the door so that it couldnt be opened! To cut a very long story short, they then sent someone to look at it who told me that he fitted conservatories and not doors so he didn't know why he'd been sent, another visit by the Manager followed (all this happening over weeks) he said that the door had been put in wonky and that was why it wouldn't lock, but in between visits I had noticed other faults, a hole in the beading where it had been cut at a wrong angle, another cut that looked like he had gnawed it with his teeth and the beading had not been finished off around the outside leaving huge globules of filler showing. I did eventually get my door fixed, but had to keep taking days off work and going through stress of having a door that didn't lock. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND I eventually was given 10% off after I asked.
