Customer service was great. Elena contacted me several times during the process to keep me updated. Recovered data was received day after they completed work.

Experience was great, but service IS costly. No problems at all, executed as promised. Thanks.

Top Notch service and customer representation. Within 24 hours of receiving my hard drive, not only did they tell me what the problem was, they step-by-step instructed me on what they would be doing and how long it would take. 10 stars out of 5 stars

I would to thank Fields Data Recovery because they they did an excellent job. I think it was a little overprice, but I learned my lesson.

Do not trust this company. Communication was poor throughout my experience. Questionable charging/quoting practices. Not actually sure if they really did anything, or just took the money and sent me pictures of a disassembled drive. Sent a solid state drive in that was no longer detected by BIOS. They asked for $1600 up front, then $100 after the repair was done. I was able to "talk them down" (although I think they just grossly over-quoted to make me think I was getting a good deal) to $800 up front. After I sent my drive in, they performed "diagnostics" and said there was a 90% data recovery chance. After some time, they said they had to perform more advanced methods and that this method (something about connecting the drive to some board they have) had an 80% chance of data recovery. I received zero meaningful updates over a period of a month. I had to keep asking for status updates. Once I finally got a meaningful response, it was an email with pictures of the drive taken apart, a vague description (PDF report) of what was done to the drive, and a "Sorry, we couldn't do anything". Following this, I asked for some sort of refund on good faith. In their agreement, there is a line stating that they can refund partial or whole amounts at their discretion. I thought since they did not actually do anything for me, this would be no problem at least getting something back (I was willing to take the new hard drive they would have sent with my recovered data and be ok). That was not the case. After being instructed to fill out a "formal complaint", I was told I would have a response in 5-14 business days. Nearly three weeks later, I emailed the person who sent me the link to the "formal request" for an update. 5 days later, I finally received a response. The response essentially said "We did what we were obligated to do". No hope of any good faith with customers there.

They basically stole my social security money. They said they could get the photos off of my tablet. They wanted $500 to start. I paid and sadly got nothing except a broken tablet. They claimed to have to take my tablet apart to do the process, but they refused to give me so much as an invoice. My credit card company said too bad, because they claim to have returned a disk with the tablet. Told scam job, then I got hit with a foreign transaction fee. This business is located in St. Louis, Missouri. Once I questioned this fee they cut off communication.

Their Google ad says starting at $199 and was also told if I didn't use their service, my drive would be returned quickly. 5 weeks later I finally received my drive with case damaged. Their customer service is awful and they will hold your drive hostage if you choose not to use them.

Friendly staff. Good service. A bit too quick to call you for my liking (even after stating to prefer contact over email due to travel).

Another company wanted to me 2500 then came back & Said wasn't possible to recover anything. Fields Data recovered 100% of everything and didn't charge me NEARLY what the other company wanted. Perfectly satisfied. BEYOND happy. My life was on that drive, things my about my son that passed that couldn't be replaced. THANK you so much

After providing the Fields Data Recovery with my computer hard drive for recovery services I was provided an outline of fees and services that would be performed. I felt that the offered services were not adequate and requested my drive be returned. At this point, the Fields Data Recovery representative stopped responding to my email inquiries and could not provide clear direction into if or when my drive was/would be mailed out. After numerous phone calls and almost a month of back and forth about where the drive was, I've finally been told that the drive may be lost, and they were not responsible, deeming the value of the drive being only 1 dollar. While the drive may have been broken, it was still valuable, as it was under warranty and was scheduled to be returned to the manufacturer and replaced with a similar value, drive (in this case a 1TB drive roughly $135). So, essentially, as far as I'm concerned, I've been robbed of $135.

Terrible Company. Total rip off. I paid to have my data expedited and it took them 2 weeks to respond. I ended up paying $1800 for nothing. They said they could not do anything after they took my money. It was a basic procedure with a small external hard drive.

I sent them my hard drive and they said it would be a free diagnostic. When my hard drive arrived there, they said I’d have to pay $200 for the diagnostic because they had to send the hard drive to a clean (specific) room to check it. They said that if it were unrecoverable I’d just lose that $200. After finding out that I’d have to pay for the “free” diagnostic I asked them to return my hard drive. After 3 days I sent them an email asking for the tracking number and they didn't answer my email. Later I called them and asked them if they had sent my hard drive back and they said no. I asked again if they could send it back to me and the guy said I’d have to wait about 2 weeks because they send all hard drives back in bulk so I’d have to wait until they had more to return. Then I asked him if it was possible to send it that day or the next and he said I’d have to pay $35 for express shipping. Final conclusion: They are scam company with little knowledge on hard drive recovery. I don't recommend them. They just want to get your money and after they will either say an expensive amount for recovery or that it’s unrecoverable.

Fields earning the stars based on the definition "decent treatment" very litlle friction. Did what they promised though not quite as quickly. Keep me informed but mostly when I asked. Recovered lots of data but not as much as would have hoped for. charged their original estimate but a bit pricey

Fields Data Recovery was easy to work with and they did a great job recovering the data on my "deceased" hard drive. I felt like the cost of almost $1,000 was extravagant but the pictures recovered were priceless. That was the only down side of the experience.
