These guys were great. They were kind and professional. They did everything they said they were going to do and went above and beyond asking if they could help while we were unpacking. I highly recommend this moving company. They made a very difficult job, much easier!

DO NOT USE DUMBO MOVING! I REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM! WHAT HAPPENED TO ME THE OTHER DAY WAS CRIMINAL! SEE BELOW WHAT I WROTE IN MY COMPLAINT TO THEM: Yesterday was probably the most stressful experiences and worst days of my entire life (moving generally is but, the additional abuse and intimidation I experienced made this 1000x worse). The person that you employed to facilitate my move behaved reprehensibly. I am not sure if this mover is a direct employee of Dumbo Moving or a freelancer, but the fact of the matter is I paid a lot of money for this move to be handled with care and professionalism and instead I encountered a nightmare situation that wasn’t needed. In order to identify this individual, the details are as follows: 1. The individual’s phone number is either (I protected it for this review xxx-xxx-xxxx) or (xxx-xxx-xxxx) (he contacted me and repeatedly threatened to walk off the job yesterday while I tried to keep my distance from him). Why he felt that he had to threaten me, I don’t know. Perhaps he just did not want to work. He told me that he was Serbian and that is all I know. I was so distraught over this situation that I forgot his name. 2. I am worried for my safety as he has my name, phone number, and he knows my new address. Details of what happened: This individual demanded he have access to my unit early to do a pre-inspection of the old apartment and told me that he would not move any of my things unless he received his 20% tip and pulled out his phone to calculate what the total dollar amount would be. He also told me that I had too many items and that he would refuse to do the move. I told him I found it rude of him to tell me how much tip he gets and that he demanded a tip before the job even started. His intimidation continued to escalate as he started to become more aggressive. He then proceeded to swear at me, and declared "bye bye”, I’m not moving and then took off and drove away in the truck leaving me speechless. I then had to reach out to Dumbo moving directly to ask what was going on and that I paid for a move and the mover threatened me and abandoned me. They told me he was coming back with a different crew based on the inventory in my apartment. He did return with one other person. This individual then returned to berate and swear at me and again, refuse to move certain things. I told him I had an updated list that had gone to Dumbo but he refused and continued to refer to a much older list from before when I was putting things on and off the list. He started the job and continued to assess what he would move and what he wouldn’t.. Again, I referred to the correct printed list that he refused to accept. He eventually did start packing things up but he was pretty careless with the items and I am worried there is damage—which I have started to review today. I wanted to get the move over faster so I offered to help move certain boxes and items into the truck which they said okay. He then proceeded to use this against me and said I was a “expletive" who was sneaking items that aren’t supposed to be there according to the false list he had (again not the correct list) and that I better not move anything else or he will throw it on the street. Lovely! I left the apartment as advised by my family and an individual from Dumbo moving and to give them space to move the items and that I didn’t need to be there. I was very nervous because of this dangerous individual that he would either steal or sabotage some items I had. I agreed however and left. I then received a phone call from this mover, saying that he was done, and would be driving to my new location. I arrived back into my apartment to see SEVERAL items such as boxes, heavy items like my table, TV Console, another TV, and several sets of Dumbells as well as other items. I told him the job wasn’t done. He declared another expletive, repeated " bye bye "and drove off. I immediately phoned Dumbo Moving who advised me they would take care of it. They did not. I had to call back again to get Peter and he eventually took care of the situation and they had to hire a separate crew to finish the job that wasn’t completed and that I would have to tip this separate crew. Again very unfair to me as I paid over $1100 for this move, and I had budgeted only for 20% tip for ONE crew NOT TWO! I received another phone call from the this abusive individual, that he was at my new apartment and that I was to meet him there or he would simply throw my items on the side of the road. This was terrifying again but I told him I would be there in 5 minutes and desperately biked over to make it in time. He sarcastically said thank you for the 5 minutes and that I better be there or items get thrown on street. I raced back and he was not there. As a former actual customer I can emphatically say that their organization's business principle is based on Bait and Switch. The prices reflected on their website is merely an incentive to "get you in" then tell you, as their salesman Kevin told me "oh that's not the right price" before marking me up with an abundance of added "built-in" costs. Initially I requested a truck which per their own specifications should have been suitable for a 2-3 bedroom move which was priced reasonably - the Bait. Then upon calling them to finalize the arrangements my price was immediately doubled - hence the Switch tactic. Specifically these guys care nothing about customer loyalty during a move to try and build good relations with the hopes that if they treat their customers well those very customers will in turn convey that to others. All they care about is maximizing the amount of money they can take from you. As such they prey upon the fact that the moving process comes with some deadlines which must be adhered to and use this to their advantage. One is the many things that they do is charge you for how many stairs you have at both of your moving locations. Additionally, they also charge you for what they term "specialized" equipment which is anything that they deem to be different from their norms of standard equipment. What this means is that any high-end furniture you may have will incur additional costs for your move. They also have undersized trucks so when you think you're getting a particular size truck you are wrong because the length may be the correct size but not the other dimensions such as width and height. Now let's say that their undersized truck doesn't fit all of your items for the move and you try to negotiate what should be a reasonable price increase, you can forget about this because they will double the overall cost of your move (in my case from $2000 to $4000) on the basis that "their guys can't go to another job" knowing full well that their guys and doing 1 job for the day because I don't know which moving company allows one crew multiple jobs in one day. As a result of this, they were only able to do half of my move whereby I had to complete the remainder on my own for added expense. Another excuse that they use for justifying themselves is the typical "it's the end of the month" nonsense which we all know doesn't always apply but they figure they can get away with it. Simply put: these guys are schemers and scammers - with the exception of the 2 amazing guys that did my move who were professional in every sense of the word - if only they were the owners of the company. My recommendation therefore is to use a traditional moving company who will come to your home to see exactly what you need and assign the appropriate sized truck to allow for all your belongings to fit. Also one that has superb customer service relations and value you as a customer and not just as a means for collecting a large payday. If I could give them zero stars for this review I certainly would.

Pick Crew #48! These guys did a terrific NYC HRA Emergency Moving Job for me. These guys showed up on time and immediately went to business, no small talking, no joking. The delivery was quick as well. I give em five stars anytime.

I had to book the movers super late, so I wasn't too worried about their delivery on schedule. Even on short notice, they are exactly on time. I'd like to thank them for such a wonderful experience and suggest it to anyone out there.

Dumbo movers were able to act very promptly. They did it on concise notice and did a great job. The four guys who came for my move were so professional, wise, and caring. They did all the job very well and on every step of my move were accommodating and responsive. I highly recommend them!

Our tenants moved out of the rental unit and used Dumbo Moving & Storage for their move. The crew from Dumbo Moving & Storage caused $16,000 in damages to the newly stained floors of the building entry and the apartment, the walls - including a custom tile wall. It's been 2 months since we initiated the claim with their insurance company and we just keep getting the run around. Dumbo Moving & Storage is unprofessional, unresponsive, and avoids accountability for their errors. Do yourself a favor and book a different company.

Brilliant from booking to pick up and delivery very professional throughout. Driver on time, efficient, and helped with the moving process. No hassle, fantastic job. I would highly recommend it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company was recommended to me by the building I was moving out of. The set up process was rather easy but upon moving day the movers were rude, did not speak English and kept charging us extra fees for simple tasks. They offered to do these tasks on the side to avoid extra paper work and were allegedly cheaper than going through the company. (red flag #1) Hey Dumbo, what kind of people are you hiring? They were very rough with my items and when I calmly and nicely asked for them to be more careful they smirked in our faces and brushed it off. For example, they taped all of the wood pieces of my bed together. After questioning if it would ruin the wood when the tape was removed, they said "no no of course not", and now the wood is ruined. (red flag #2) The same goes for my beautiful glass lampshade which is now in pieces. Despite all this, we gave them a nice 20% tip. They frowned in our faces and stomped off. (red flag #3) They were completely unprofessional, not grateful and extremely demeaning to women. This last part I cannot stress enough. They made us feel extremely uncomfortable and belittled. To be honest, I can let all of that go. Not a pleasant experience but is moving ever really pleasant? What I cannot let go is the fact that all of my items were placed into a storage unit and now upon removing the items we have noticed my flat screen 55" tv and glass round table top are gone. My assumption is they broke the glass table top during transit and THEY STOLE MY TV. Knowing I was moving my belongings into storage and would not notice the missing items right away, they took advantage of the situation. (red flag #4) Absolutely 100% unprofessional, slimy parasites parading around as professional movers. I would recommend to any person thinking about maybe using them to RUN and AVOID this company. To the movers who are enjoying my 55" flat screen tv, I hope Dumbo fires you! They should know the type of people who are working for them. Update: They are well aware of the type of employees that are working for them and don't care. They offered me money for my items or told me I could go to the police but they would not pay me anything if I did that...

Everything was spot on, pick-up and drop-off both on time. Mike, the driver, was genial and helpful. Booking was easy and quick online. Very happy. Dumbo Moving was legit a lifeline. Recommend using them.

The men who showed up for the move were very quick and professional and did a great job wrapping up all of my possessions. Not one thing was broken or chipped in this move. Everything arrived in perfect condition, and they were fast.

Very appropriate name. The guy spent 10 minutes asking me specific details about each item (how long is the couch? What kind of kitchen table?) to then put me on hold and come back with a $975 quote for 4 items going 5-10 miles down the road. Said the reason it was so expensive was because their truck had to come from 2 hours away? Why would that factor into MY cost? My move is under 10 miles apart? Why advertise/quote in an area where you don’t have any nearby trucks and if that’s the case, WHY NOT lead with that fact instead of wasting my time with all the other questions? Once I heard the price (and worse; The explanation for it) I felt the entire process was an incredible waste of time. The guy I spoke to shouldn’t be the 1st voice of the company if you guys want to make some $.

The crew arrived one hour earlier than scheduled. They offered assistance to make it a smooth and organized experience. They we’re willing to wait but assisted me to get an early start. They were careful and thorough with the preparation of my furniture and all of my items. When they unloaded everything they asked where things could be placed and were very respectful and considerate. The foreman on my job, George, clearly demonstrated that this was not his “first rodeo”. I was amazed at how swift and painless loading the unloading the was. I would recommend Dumbo to anyone looking to have as smooth an experience as possible with such a difficult task. They made it so easy. So efficient, accurate and competitively priced. Kudos to all of you.

Extremely disappointed in Dumbo moving. Had positive experiences in the past with a few glitches but the last move was a terrible. Everything from scheduling bin drop off, bin pick up and the move itself was a disaster. Bin pick up and drop off times kept changing despite multiple confirmations. Complete disregard for people's times to be hours late for an appointment. The actual move was late. The movers were inexperienced and unprofessional. The rented wardrobe boxes were all broken with no metal bar. The movers said the company required them to buy wardrobe boxes at their own expense? My nice clothes were dropped into dirty boxes. In the past I had recommended Dumbo to various friends and family members. It's sad the company took a turn for the worse. Will never use this company again.

Dumbo moving pays attention to service. They packed up our belongings; and delivered right on time without a problem. The price was appropriate and all the people in the system were courteous. I can recommend Dumbo Moving.
