The Canvas online process was simple and efficient. When I had questions (3-4 times) I was able to speak with Cynthia who is outstanding. She was kind helpful and organized and always had the correct answers! I picked Canvas for its terrific 7-year rates and I'm looking forward to compounding! The funding process questions were handled by Brody efficiently and Amanda was really a star getting me the new Canvas rates on my Annuity.

I went with Canvas/Puritan Life for the fixed interest rate. The rate Is 75 bp higher than any other company I researched due to the "do It yourself" platform. Puritan Life's BBB+ rating by AM Best is acceptable but unfortunately there is no Comdex rating for Puritan. I would prefer dealing with an agent but for 75bp it's worth doing the legwork. Canvas needs to do a better job marketing their product. Unfortunately I rolled my wife's 403b about 10 months ago into a lower interest rate with a different annuity company.

I just received a notice from this company that our account information including our birth dates and social security numbers were hacked almost 4 months ago. When I called to close my account and withdraw my funds, I was told that I would have to pay a 7% penalty. Because of this negligent act and breach of my personal information I would have thought a company that prides themselves on customer satisfaction would have made an attempt to wave the surrender fee and not further penalize me. I am now in fear of someone being able to use my information and the company that made that possible is holding my money hostage. If I were a consumer looking to invest in a company, it would not be this one.

Very easy to set up

As a recently retired person, I've been purchasing MYGAs (multi-year guaranteed annuities) over the past year or so. I've bought from several places, but out of all of them I found Canvas not only to have the best rates (by cutting out the broker), but to also have the easiest process, hands down. I'm done purchasing annuities for the time being but if I do decide to put more into MYGAs I'll shop Canvas first.

The rates from Canvas are about the best I have found anywhere. The website was very informational and answered most questions up front. Only issue I had was that it appears the chat function is not monitored. I got no response after a day and a half of trying. The phone system is often backed up and I never received a callback. However, I just kept calling until I was able to reach a live person. I expect to be satisfied with my Canvas annuity investment.

Easy application, good rates and good customer services

Just took out the 7 year Future Fund with the option for monthly interest payments sent to my bank account. From start to finish, the process was Unbelievable!!! I called about 3 times throughout getting funded, and each time I spoke with Lida who was nothing short of amazing! Having taken out multiple CD's over the years, I have never received such concise and easy to understand explanations to the questions I had. Their rates were far above industry average and their customer service went hand in hand. Kudos also goes to Puritan Life Insurance, who I called after being funded to check on when my monthly interest would be sent after filling out the forms a week prior. After being placed on hold for a short 3 minutes, I was told it would be processed immediately and funds sent to my bank. Well, how many times have we heard that? Since it was late in the day, I checked my account the next morning and low and behold it had been sent as promised!! Canvas and Puritan are a great team with the best customer service I have seen in a very long time!!!

WOW! What great interest rates and variety of annuities you can select from. I also like that they are backed by a strong Puritan Insurance Company and not some company you never heard of before.
