I called and actually got a person who said they were working on it and would call me back when the issue was resolved- they actually did! I was impressed with the customer service. I feel better knowing if I need assistance in the future I will get it.

United States | 15 June 2022I followed the instructions for an electronic transfer. After a week, I called my bank because the money hadn't been extracted. They told me there hadn't been a request. I called Puritan and although I showed my account established, they hadn't received funds. After several more calls over a week period, they told me to send a check. I sent one certified and tracked it to Puritan. After 3 days, I called Puritan when I saw the funds had been withdrawn because the account didn't show up again. Then they told me the account was "closed". The agent finally reached a processor and said they would work on the account today and would date it as of yesterday. So the money, $200k sat in a non interest bearing account for 3 weeks and I still don't see the account. I imagine it will show up over the next few days. The process started fine and went downhill fast! Update, still not showing up on website. Called and on hold trying to get information. They do a horrible job of sending any updates or information. As of this writing, the folks at Puritan reached out. They apologized for the confusion. In order to make things right, they backdated the policy and paid the interest that would have been earned. I appreciate their response and action. I understand any company can have some mistakes, but the real test was whether or not they follow through and correct them. Puritan did and I'm grateful.

It was easy to find the fund that I wanted, applying on-line was quick and the electronic deposit worked well. There was a delay in completing the annuity and for 2 days I had no idea if the transaction actually took place, where my deposit was or if there was a problem. Being able to have a fixed end date for the annuity is a big plus for me.
