It has taken 2.5 months for Huddle to agree a move to another energy supplier for my daughters student house even though my daughter never had a contract with them. I raised a formal complaint through their complaints process about a week ago because I have to before contacting the ombudsman, I fully intend to take this matter to the ombudsman as they have tried every trick in the book to keep my daughter and her housemates as customers and wasted hours and hours of our time and caused untold stress within the household. If everyone did the same, maybe they would no longer be in business.

United Kingdom | 13 October 2020Had a few issues with errors and miscommunications over our contract but in the end Huddle called and a helpful man called Dan sorted out our issue and we have been reimbursed us for the money owed. In the end satisfied with the experience received.

United Kingdom | 12 October 2020Was with them for one year and was awful. I've done all the bills myself this year and I have saved £17 per month!! I have been hassling for a refund now for 6 months from our contract finishing last year. I am on the phone to them now and waiting for over an hour just to speak to someone, do not use them, do it yourself. Would be one star but they did actually pay our bills so I guess they did their job in that sense but over charged us massively. Update: I finally got our refund back which I was happy about to then be smacked with another bill (which I have paid) but now a possible late charge because they sent everything by post which we never received until October and won't answer my emails !!!

United Kingdom | 03 October 2020Definitely would not recommend this company for WiFi. We didn’t have wifi for a number of weeks after moving in because they sent the wrong router?? When we finally got it, it was slow, would drop often and didn’t reach beyond the ground floor of a three storey house. Upon complaining huddle did absolutely nothing but tell us to contact the WiFi provider ourselves and we had to buy our own extender so you’re probably better off cutting out the middle man and saving money. With regards to utilities I would probably avoid them for that too. We were told we’d have to be ridiculous with our usage to be charged extra yet we were struck with an extra charge of £125 each in a 7 bed house at the end of the year. Meaning they claim we used around £1k extra in gas water and electricity on top of the already expensive £4k we paid under our contract. Given we weren’t in the house for Easter or Christmas and we had a broken boiler for a lot of the year they either set the tariffs extremely low or just take advantage of students who can’t fight back.

Notified them of my desire to switch to a different provider, got a response within 5 working days, trying to persuade me to stay, but allowing me to leave. Then, as new tenants, I sent the details required to end the agreement, and did not get a response. The email was certainly sent as I got an automated response. I have tried emailing them again, and still no response. To make matters worse, they are not on U-switch, and repeatedly blocking the switch to a new provider. They are also threatening us with an exit fee, despite never agreeing to a contract. Furthermore they asked us for a tenancy agreement to prove when we moved into the property (which I provided), yet still charged us for the 2 weeks before we moved in. They are by far one of the worst companies to deal with. Avoid

United Kingdom | 03 October 2020I only did a quote on their website and they've sent me an email welcoming me as their client and asked to complete the "application". After finding a provider I was interested in (Octopus) I couldn't be switched as I was registered already with truenergy (the company huddle works with). I called them to let them know I'm really not interested in their services and the guy on the phone told me that he cancelled the "contract". Well, I tried again to switch my provider and the guys from Octopus couldn't switch me because of the same problem. Don't even try to access their website, is incredible how far they can go. I hope they will sort out this matter very quickly or I'll find myself in position to take further actions against them.

United Kingdom | 01 October 2020Complete and utter scam. Do not know how companies like this are still legally allowed to operate. My first encounter with huddle was within the first month of my tenancy when I enquired about my current tariff rates and about a potential switch. They made it rather difficult by sending me forwards and backwards between themselves and TruEnergy (who they use as their supplier) to the point where an operator at TruEnergy was quite evidently confused as to why huddle had even asked me to ring TruEnergy. I have finally switched through Uswitch (highly recommend) and during the process, my operator stopped as she genuinely was amazed about how high the costs of my current tariff are. The standing charge of my electricity tariff was more than 350% higher than what she has now switched me to and the gas tariff wasn't much better. Huddle is quite clearly a dishonest company that preys on enticing students under false pretences. They are nothing more than a shoddy cowboy company that has a reasonably good marketing team.

United Kingdom | 21 September 2020As a student I thought Huddle would be the best option to pay bills that needed to be split between others and I. The front page of their website states 'Internet within 48 hours'. NOT 48 DAYS! My housemates and I have waited over SIX WEEKS for broadband. We have emailed and called Huddle weekly, after being promised our internet would be installed at a different date and time each call. It seems as if not a single person working on customer service has any idea what they are doing. As a company they are absolutely appalling! Supposedly a business made for students but they are purely a business made to con and snatch students money. Taking money from vulnerable, young people. Disgusting. We are leaving ASAP, livid would be an understatement. Also to add - they decided to double charge us for the first month. It took us weeks to be refunded for this.

I requested a smart meter and instantly i received a call and the gentleman was so polite in explaining what are the actual pure benefits and scheduled the appointment so it suited my needs. Great customer service team also who are always so friendly and understanding.

United Kingdom | 12 September 2020Seriously don't recommend this company. After recently moving into our house around 3-4 weeks ago huddle haven't been a pleasure to deal with. Several problems, the first being the internet/WiFi situation, their website states "Internet within 48 hours" however this couldn't be further from the truth. It's been 3 weeks since we signed up for huddle and requested broadband and we are still without WiFi. University starts up in just over a week now and we have no internet, this is extremely problematic when most of our Uni lecturers and Seminars are online, which again won't be possible to attend. They claim that the delays for the broadband are a result of them trying to arrange an engineer to install the router. Who needs an engineer to install a router? We're living in the 21st century where I think everybody has figured out by now how to plug in a cable into the wall...All other internet providers simply send out a router with a set of installation instructions, this is all that's required... Alongside this they are almost impossible to get a hold of by both email and telephone. I've had emails from over a week ago which still haven't been responded to. And regarding phone calls, I was on hold waiting to be put through for over an hour. They also delete any negative comments that have been put on their social media pages without addressing and fixing the problem. Take this as a warning to any University Students looking for a bill splitting company not to go with them.

Huddle then again sent a letter claiming they supply the electricity. Again false information. Awful sales tactics here, surely this must be a breach of the law! Huddle have reached out for a response but have offered no reasons for this. Still suspect dodgy sales practices here
