Poor pet insurance, avoid !!!!! Zero star rating if possible. I was with Healthy Pets paying over £113.00 a month for our Cavalier King Charles. She had meds coming in at around £100 a month due to age related conditions. Kept going in case she needed further treatment end of life. BIG Mistake!!! She required tests and treatment costing over £700.00. A week later Penny deteriorated and had to be put to sleep. Heartbreaking as it is you have to do what us vwst for your pet. Especially difficult with Penny as she saved my wife's life following Penny sniffing out grade 4 cancer before it was too late. They would not cover vet treatment as I paid monthly and was part way through the years premium. Shocking!!!!! Please look elsewhere it will save a heartbreak in later years. Ignore these standard replies to contact customer services after poor feedback. They do NOTHING TO RESOLVE ISSUES!!! Just happy to keep taking premiums Don't get caught out!

Absolutely awful! I haven’t heard from them at all. I’ve put in 3 claims since last July and nothing, no contact, no payment. It’s disgusting. They shouldn’t be allowed to provide insurance as they do not do what they say.

Absolutely appalling service. I'm waiting on a claim for £2600 and every time it gets to an assessor they ask for more details which adds more time to the processing. They also have these hidden SLAs, so whenever I call they say something like 'your claim is on day 11 of the queue so it will be another 3 days' but if I call back in 3 days they say it will be a few more weeks. I'm now in debt and still don't know if they're going to honor the claim. I wish I'd never taken out insurance with them. Avoid at all costs.

I would never recommend this company to anyone, my family and I have had the most shocking treatment from them. We bought a tabby cat and although the cost to get her was minimal, she was our family and wanted the best treatment if it was ever needed. We opted to get their most premium policy thinking everything was covered and we couldn't have been more wrong. Willow (our cat) was a healthy cat which in the 18 months we had her never needed any treatment, unfortunately a neighbour struck her in a car and killed her, we were heartbroken as a family. We had willow cremated and sent back to us in a scatter urn, the whole cost of this was appropriately £250, there were far more expensive options but we didn't want to take advantage of the insurance company. We sent our claim to Healthy Pets and 2 weeks later recieved a letter rejecting our claim. Our premium policy covered death yet they refused to pay. One of the reasons was was because there was no proof of what we paid for the cat, does that even matter? We paid for the cremation and that was what we were claiming for. Appropriately they would have paid for a funeral costing £1000's but a £250 bill we submitted for the cremation wouldn't be accepted. We obviously objected this but this made no difference, and because we were still grieving the loss of our cat we didn't have the energy to keep fighting them. I know it was only £250, but it's not the money that was the problem with this company, its the principle of thinking you have it all covered and it isn't. The policy we had with them was their most expensive, we wanted the best for our beloved cat. AVOID this company at all costs as all they do is lie and take your money. It's a shame there isn't an option to give minus stars.

I was claiming for the death benefit for the death of my 1 year old cat who was killed by a dog. Claim took 3 weeks from opening to me receiving the insurance pay out for his death. The claim form was awkward to fill out but that is most likely because I was using a mac but got there in the end. A few emails back and fourth and a bit of miss communication but I received my claim yesterday and all in all it was fairly straight forward. 100% reccomend getting lifetime policy because you never know what is going to happen to your fur babies. RIP Nacho <3 thanks healthy pets for being fairly straight forward. (Although you did send me a renewal letter after I informed you of my cats death which was kinda insensitive but hey ho)

I received a renewal notice that represented a huge increase in the premium. I requested a quote for Silver and Bronze cover instead of Gold. Although the cover is less I opted for the Silver option. The people on the phone were very helpful, friendly and efficient, however so have received 5 confusing and contradictory E-mails directly after confirming, by phone, the amended policy. It doesn’t impart confidence.

We already have 3 cats (Andre, Paolo & Polly) insured with HPI and have claimed before for Andre, so knowing how good the company is we didn't think twice about insuring our 2 new Fox Red Labrador Pups Milo & Theo with them. Straight forward, good price, life time cover and happy customers. Just hope we never have to use it, but it's there just in case.
