United Kingdom | 17 May 2022Just took my delivery in this morning, the driver was very very helpful (Jason) received a phone call half hour before just as I asked, helped unwrap the item and explained the companies policies, was very informative, I came to view the item a couple of weeks ago before deliver in which the office team directed me to one of the warehouse staff who was very helpful and polite. Will be using again and recommend to anyone looking to buy an appliance💪🏻

The office staff have been super helpful even advised me on the best hood to get for the range. I was kept me well informed with delivery times. Even the delivery driver went out of his way to be helpful, i wasn't at home when my delivery arrived and was a little worried, as my partner was at home alone and she is disabled. But i needn't have worried as the delivery driver put it in my dining room for me. Will definitely be using these guys again. Please pass my thanks to the driver with the beard.

United Kingdom | 05 May 2022Purchased a SMEG dual fuel cooker from their clearance line. A Smeg appointed engineer visited following contact with Appliance Depot. Damaged parts had been fitted in error by The Appliance Depot . SMEG fortunately authorised the replacement of these parts which are currently being fitted by SMEG Authorised engineer. Although there was a substantial delay to my written complaint, I have received an apology directly from the owner of The Appliance Depot and agreed compensation for the inconvenience. The matter of how this happened is under way and I have been reassured that I will be informed of his findings. It is a pity that my complaint was not taken seriously at the beginning, but the matter has been resolved amicably after the owner had contacted me and the matter was discussed in detail. As stated the owner is very apologetic and providing I receive an explanation of what went wrong, the matter will be closed at that time.

Very quick and clear communication with Jess from start to finish and the delivery driver was really nice and helpful. Very happy all round.

I wasn't in a position to help with getting it over the threshold, so I asked the delivery guy if he'd put it behind my side gate - and he ended up bringing it through and inside to the back of the house, which was much appreciated! He seemed like a nice and helpful guy. Nothing to sign and no hassle! No issues with my Hotpoint and I am so glad because we have had 3 orders and 2 washing machine deliveries since February - all disastrous, all via Argos. Might work for other people, but it didn't work for us, so I had to research 'outside the box' to finally get the machine I wanted in the hope that it could be delivered safely and was not a faulty machine. So far, so good. Good enough for me to write a review anyway!

United Kingdom | 29 April 2022Buy from this shop at your peril. If you're lucky enough to get a working appliance that's great. However I was sold a faulty appliance (range cooker) which was described as refurbished and fully working but never actually worked as it should for me and they refused to acknowledge my consumer rights after they failed at attempts to repair it. Only on being served by the courts did they agree to a full refund. I finally did get my full refund, however the shop is now trying to claim my qualified electrician only used a 13amp capacity wire to install the cooker and this is where all the problems stem from - infact my reputable and very well qualified electrician used 6mm wire and installed a separate cooker ring from my consumer unit to provide enough power needed for an induction hob. One of the main reasons you buy from a shop rather than an individual seller on gumtree is because you feel you have some recourse if you turn out to have not quite purchased what was described. But this shop don't seem to understand this is why we pay extra for a refurbished appliance from a shop. When it became clear I needed a refund the sales team got intimidating and rude, falsely telling me there was nothing they could do as it was second hand. This is not true under consumer rights which equally apply to used goods. I have glimpsed the same type of attitude in other bad reviews so my opinion is this seems to be a shop culture, as I'm not the only one who has had trouble when an appliance has been faulty. But this is just my opinion, you can make your own mind up reading the reviews yourself. Obviously if you get a working appliance you've got yourself a bargain, but you're playing a game of roulette because if it's faulty you're not necessarily going to have an easy ride securing your consumer rights. I'd say it really wasn't worth the headache. I also didn't have a functioning hob and was cooking on a camping stove for months while trying to get my refund. What is of note here is the after sale service. I was more than happy to give them several attempts to fix my appliance, after all I buy second hand for eco reasons so a fixed appliance would have been my preference. When they couldn't fix it I would have at that time been happy with a like replacement. I would not accept a like replacement from them now because all trust had broken down, they're attitude left a bad taste, as did being hung up on (I gave them no reason for this, unless stating my consumer rights is offensive). I get it that sometimes faults can get through the refurbished proccess undetected, so wasn't so bothered about it being faulty as long as it was fixed or replaced, which is why I buy from shops not individuals on gumtree. Also, since they have now tried to pass off the issue as an installation problem I have further reservations. To think a 6mm cable is a 13amp cable does not bode well for their refurbishment abilities. This has put me off buying refurbished- not the refurbished item itself buy the fact that it's such hard work to get your consumer rights upheld when it's not actual refurbished as described. Defective machine returned and new machine delivered. Things don’t always go that smoothly when customers have problems or no and but the Appliance Depot was truly professional. Thank you!
