This is a feature that was never previously set up and we were unaware existed. We were extremely happy to be made aware of a feature that enables us to fully maximise our alarm and grateful to the two lovely engineers who attended.

United Kingdom | 10 February 2025I paid an up front charge of £288 for a Banham visit to simply re-set my smoke alarm system (I was told you had to pay the service charge fee upfront). All the alarms, panels and everything were already in place. Two engineers arrived (one trainee) and replaced about 7 batteries and re-set the alarm pad. I was told the service charge had already been paid but I would be charged for the batteries. They were here for about an hour. I have now been sent a bill for £630 so an extra £342 for seven batteries.

The reason that I have reduced that response to 4* is that I needed to speak to your "Maintenance" department about the timing. I rang both "Maintenance" and, separately, your operator twice each - hung on for about 20 minutes in total. Finally, I rang an engineer, whose number I happened to have from a previous visit, and he was able to sort the matter out.
