United Kingdom | 06 October 2024My original review - edited as well: I used two lancets, got a reasonable amount of blood but the dropper just stopped at a quarter of the way up and refused to fill up any more. So all in all a pointless waste of time. I did try with the tiny bit of blood I did get out - and that also was difficult to extract without hitting it several times against the cassette - so I have no idea if the result it provided (negative) is correct or not. The team at My Health Checked immediately reached out to me to talk to me about my experience, offer advice and also straightaway offered to replace or refund the kit. I opted to receive a new test kit which I received in a couple of days. Their customer service is very attentive and if you had problems like I did, don’t hesitate to speak to them about it as they are more than happy to offer a lot of support. For this reason, I would definitely give these tests a try as you can be sure, from my own experience anyway, that support is on hand.

United Kingdom | 28 September 2024Edited down to 1 star from 2 stars After making me send them "more details regarding what I want to know", the sent me a message that had the gist (direct quote) "while some recommendations may sound familiar, their true value comes form how they are personalized based on your genetic result" and then proceeded to copy paste the same thing in the profile. Now I'm really done :)) Fully avoid! --- Original feedback Nothing wrong per say, just quite a disappointing amount of information. I got a few dimensions I was meant to monitor and some that are apparently ok, but it was so vague and high level it's like reading the horoscope: it's not wrong, and if you squint it fits, but it's not very helpful either. I was going to try some of the other tests, but it's really not worth the time and money. Sorry :(

I recieved my results but no real explanation to help me understand what my results mean. I expected more. Was a quick service though. Update: Health checked contacted me to give me some further personalised information which was fab. Thank you for taking the time to assist me.

United Kingdom | 05 September 2024I bought this product which promised "a range of rapid tests" at "our UK based lab" on 10th August from Boots who disclaimed any responsibility for it despite advertising, stocking, selling and distributing it. The product website showed doctors and lab staff. However, the lab Acculabs Diagnostics (AL) is not part of HMC and the lab staff do not work for MHC. AL acknowledged receipt of my sample but did not process it, later claiming that I had only sent one tube, which is not true. They made no attempt to contact me over this. My excellent customer care agent helped me with this and the poorly constructed system, which frequently required information I had already provided, and arranged another kit. Despite extensive physical preparation my second sampling was more difficult and I was not surprised to be told that it had homolysed. I have since discovered that finger sampling is more difficult with my low blood pressure and pulse, also that the instruction to "Position the lancet on the side of the selected finger" is probably wrong and I had been misled by this. Today, 5th September, I decided not to make a third attempt. The product is very worthwhile but Boots could and should provide venous sampling where necessary. I was very satisfied with MHC's mature response but very disappointed with the outcome.

Results came through quicker than expected it was very insightful, a lot of interesting info all very helpful. Would definitely try the other DNA tests in future.

United Kingdom | 16 August 2024They sent out a test which I completed and sent back after following all their instructions. They said due to the hot weather the sample was invalid and asked to send a replacement. I confirmed that this was okay but would be time sensitive as I was leaving the country in a fortnight. This never arrived. I then received an email asking for me to reply to their request to replace it which I already had responded to. Then another email saying the replacement would be delayed due to the heatwave. I have now sent multiple emails asking them to cancel and refund as I am no longer in the country, none of which have been answered. Their customer support only seems interested in sending out emails telling you they are having problems but then does nothing to actually resolve those problems.

United Kingdom | 07 August 2024MyHealthChecked have asked me to share my feedback of their Cholesterol Testing kit on Trust Pilot. One is given 3 attempts in the kit to draw sufficient blood to meet their requirements, but unfortunately I was not successful with this, and had to abandon it. I didn’t get passed obtaining the first drop which needed to be wiped away. To their credit, when I emailed them this, and asked for my online account to delete the “awaiting sample return” entry, they sent me a new kit free of charge. On the second attempt, I reviewed their instructions, which explained about how to get really warm, especially in the hand of the finger(s) to be used. The issue was, that having told you to do this, they then suggest you go online and activate your test, fill in a health questionnaire, including needing to know your height and weight in a format I had to go and work out the answers, and then set up the numbers for postal tracking. You are also asked to fill in information on the labels in the pack. Included in the online instructions is to tell you how much water you needed to have drunk the day before. Strange place to tell you this, as it doesn’t come up until you alert your account you are about to do the test. Anyway, I decided to put aside all this paperwork the second time around, and just concentrate on getting warmth in the fingers and getting a sample, without stopping for 20 minutes or so form filling. Happily, this was successful. I then went online, filled out all the questions, and wrote out the labels before posting. They undertake to get results back to you in 48-72 hours. I gave them some leeway, but eventually after two weeks, I had to email them to chase up the results. They acknowledged my query, and I received the results three days later. They never told me why the delay occurred, so I can’t say if long delays are a common occurrence. UPDATE: The company tell me they had a process change at the time of my test and delays resulted. They are refunding the cost of the kit because of this. The results themselves were satisfactory for my requirements. I can’t compare my experiences with any other companies as I haven’t ever done a self test before, but the end result was what I needed, albeit it was not a straightforward journey to get there.
