United Kingdom | 07 August 2023I recently had my first experience purchasing a DNA kit, and the process was surprisingly simple. All I had to do was swab my cheek, send it off in the post, and the lab received it the very next day. I was impressed with the speedy delivery. Soon after, I received my personalised report, and that's when the real magic happened. The report provided valuable insights into my food sensitivities and preferences. It accurately flagged that I have a lactose intolerance problem, which was quite eye-opening. With this newfound knowledge, I now have a better understanding of what foods I should avoid and what I can incorporate into my diet. The entire experience has been enlightening, and I'm glad I decided to explore the world of DNA testing. It's been a fantastic journey of self-discovery!

United Kingdom | 07 August 2023Recently, I decided to explore how my body responds to food by using a DNA kit. After watching the instructional video and carefully reading the provided instructions, I collected my samples by pricking a new finger for each of the two tubes. The process was straightforward and not at all uncomfortable. Within just 48 hours, I received my results, and I must say, the report was incredibly intriguing. It shed light on how my body is currently performing and highlighted areas where I can make improvements for better health and well-being. One aspect that impressed me was the personalised recommendations based on my genetic profile. With the valuable insights gained from this test, I plan to implement the recommended changes in my diet and lifestyle. I'm curious to see how these adjustments will positively impact my body over time. In fact, I'm already considering performing this test again in three months to track my progress and fine-tune my approach to better health. Overall, it's been a fascinating and enlightening experience that I highly recommend to others who want to optimise their well-being based on their unique genetic makeup

United Kingdom | 07 August 2023I thought there was a missing part to my test but I emailed customer services and Denise walked me through the kit and there it was. So I completed my test easily after that.

United Kingdom | 07 August 2023I recently purchased your DNA kit, it was really ease to use, I used a soft swab to swab the inside of my cheek, posted it in my local post box and I had my report back the next week.

United Kingdom | 03 August 2023No result given! Wasting my money. I bought 4 and only have one booking reference code instead of four. I am very disappointed.

United Kingdom | 01 August 2023I bought Iron deficiency test which proved my tiredness was probably down to lack of Iron. I did find it a little difficult to extract enough blood as the lancet didn’t really go as deep as it could have but I got enough with the second lancet. It wouldn’t allow us to view the video but to be honest didn’t need it in the end. Great product and worth trying instead of going to GP in my opinion.

United Kingdom | 31 July 2023Recently went down with Covid just before going on holiday. we were told by the travel company that we need a test but not a self test to cancel. My wife went down with Covid a day later so we need to test kits. being of an age and feeling like **** I made a mess of sending the test kits! at £162 for the two test I expected to have to do them again BUT they were fantastic especially Denise who went the extra mile. So you me 5 star +

United Kingdom | 28 July 2023I firstly bought the iron deficiency test from Boots as I was concern of my levels following surgery. The test was easy to use once I watched the video. Which can be found using the QR code on the instructions. My test showed my iron levels were below what they should be which I suspected. I am now taking supplements. Test result given in 5 minutes. I then bought the Vitamin D rapid test. The test was again easy to use once you watched the video on how to do the test. My results showed my levels were fine. Test took 10 minutes. These test are very straight forward to do and results in minutes. It gives you a peace of mind about your health and much quicker than trying to do them via your GP surgery.

United Kingdom | 08 July 2023I purchased the vitamins and minerals DNA test from boots. The sample collection and postage was easy and painless. Communication from the company was good when they recieved my test and the results were ready (results were ready within the 10 days that they stated it would take). The results were insightful. They tell you what genes they are looking at for each area (e.g vitamin D deficiency) and what alleles you have for each. The report tells you how this can affect you and what foods/ activities you can do to improve. I was flagged as having a high chance of vitamin D deficiency. This matches with my experience of previous blood tests which found that I was very low in vitamin D. I therefore take a supplement each day now for this. You don't have to be an expert in genetics to understand the report, however, as I have a bit of experience in researching scientific papers and articles, I was also able to look up the SNP's I have for further information on them (for example i found a study that suggests that one of the polymorphisms i had was associated with a much lower risk of colon cancer). Very interesting and worth the money. I will likely purchase further tests from MHC in the future.

United Kingdom | 01 June 2023Bought a MyHealthchecked Iron Deficiency (Ferritin) Rapid Test to do a quick screen for Iron deficiency, a common issue I have due to Crohn's Disease. Before I found this kit in Boots, I would have to go through the hassle of contacting the hospital IBD team and asking for a blood test form. Then have to drag myself down to the hospital and get a blood test. Then wait more days for the results to be ready and then a couple more days for them to be reviewed. Obviously these rapid tests ARE NOT replacements for the full bloods BUT they are good at settling the mind or giving an indication if you could do with a further test. Pricing point is perfect, the test was very clearly explained and easy to do. All nicely presented, it felt clinical and safe.

United Kingdom | 25 May 2023General Health Test - I would describe myself as middle aged and have an annual check up and tests for hypertension. This also includes a blood test. However, all I get back is if there are any issues. Getting an appointment at the doctors just to go over results is difficult and not a priority for my clinic. So I decided to try one of the new products by Myhealthchecked. I decided on the general health test as it seem to cover the areas I was looking to be reassured on. I ordered the test kit online and it arrived by Royal Mail 24hr in a few days. The pack was well packaged with clear instruction. It is, however, important to read them carefully. These are lab samples so have to be done correctly. Firstly, I had to activate my kit. This was simple. I went on to Myhealthchecked website and set up an account so I could access my portal. They required a barcode number from one of the sample viles. I then had to answer a few basic health questions about height, weight, age, exercise, diet and drinking and most importantly, current medication. This makes complete sense as a doctor will review the results and needs to know a bit about you and your lifestyle. Next came the blood sample taking. I received my box on a Saturday but noted that I should take my samples on the day I was going to post them and ensure there was a post Service. So I left mine till Tuesday. The box contained 4 automatic lancets, alcohol wipes, plasters plus 2 blood viles and packaging materials. Following the instructions, I washed my hands and dried them. Then set the lancet on the side of a finger to draw the blood and fill the first vile. I have good clotting so found that I didn’t get enough of a sample at first attempt. So after warming my hand under a tap and going up and down the stairs a few times (similar to the guidance) to get my heart rate up, it was a lot easier and no problem getting blood to ‘flow’. I repeated this on two fingers on my other hand for the other vile. Both samples were then sealed up and posted in a post box. I checked the post was being collected that day. The following morning I had an e mail from Myhealthchecked to say my sample had been received. I received e mails at each stage of the process from ordering to activation and receiving. Later that day, I had an e mail to say my results were in. I clicked on the link to log back in to my portal. I had a covering report by a doctor, then results of 28 different readings covering cholesterol, Full blood count, glucose, kidney health and liver health. I had a two ares that were described as ‘borderline’ but the rest were fine. Each test gave specific readings and I was able to click to read about each test, what it meant and what high or low readings could indicate. Also what action could be take to change the levels or if I should seek further tests. Personally, I found some areas more useful to me such as cholesterol levels as I take statins. I was told many years ago I was pre diabetic so it was also reassuring to see my glucose levels were normal and in the right place. White blood cells were borderline in one area so something to keep an eye on. In summary, I found the kit easy to use and the service very efficient and professional. The results were informative and helpful and filled that gap that the NHS struggles to. I found it very good value for money.
