Excellent service ever since I started going to the Inverness branch. Emma and her team have been fantastic. Can't recommend highly enough. Every aspect of the eye test is detailed and explained. All the staff were friendly and engaging.

Went in for routine eye test to get an updated prescription for my glasses. The check up seemed iffy throughout, with various tests skipped as equipment not working. At the end, when I avoided the sales pitch and said I just wanted the prescription to order my own glasses, they rushed through writing up the prescription. I later used the prescription to order on line, which I've done many times in the past successfully with other opticians. This time the glasses came back really blurry. When I checked the prescription against my historic ones, many of the measurements were completely inconsistent (left eye same strength as right, when it's always been much weaker, axis measurements wrong way round etc). Stuck with a useless £100 pair of glasses. Worst bit is the attitude and customer service after though, Had to ring back four days in a row after being told someone would call back. Then received a series of blunt refusals to accept any error on their part, despite me showing the obvious inconsistencies with any of my historic eye tests. Awful company, avoid like the plague and use alternatives. They are more accurate, but more over their customer service is always much better.

The most disappointing experience ever. At Norwich I was told I was a perfect candidate for full lens replacement and would have 20 20 vision and it would be a permanent fix and wouldnever needglasses again, so paid £500 deposit. I then had a second appointment at Chelmsford and was then told I was far from an ideal candidate and would only get a small improvement at distance and would still need glasses close up. I am now struggling to get my deposit back.

I had a recent free consultation on laser eye surgery. I originally booked following an online advertisement which advertised "from £595 per eye". I was quickly contacted and booked in for an appointment at a time that suited me. The experience of the appointment was fantastic. I had amazing customer experience from Justine at the Southampton branch and all the tests were well explained and easy to get through. The procedure was explained in detail, including the 15 minute period of the actual surgery, and all the follow up care included in the cost. Which would be nearly £2500 per eye. Making it completely outside my price range. I know that from a legal point of view "From X price" is correct but when your price is 4 times X it feels disingenuous. I knew it would not be at that price but I was expecting maybe up to £1000 per eye. Which I would have winced at but could have justified for the benefits. What I cannot understand is how the price would be so different between surgeries when the vast majority of the cost should be for the equipment, the staffing, the after care and the administration. All of which would have cost the business much the same regardless of my prescription. If I had been given a more accurate range of the median price for the procedure, rather than the lowest, I might have saved myself and the staff the wasted time of the appointment. While I am sure that the following customer service and care would have been excellent had I been able to afford the surgery what ended up happening was a 2 hour appointment of having lights shined in my eyes when I could have told someone on the phone a week earlier I couldn't have afforded it.

I met the Optical Express team at 100% Optical at the ExCel in London earlier this month, and it reminded me that it's now almost 3 years since I had my lens replacement surgery! It really has been one of the best things I've done! I would like to reassure and encourage anyone who is thinking about it; just go for it! The freedom it gives you is amazing. The op itself was really straightforward. Dr Huba Kiss was so calming and completely put me at ease. All the team at the Nottingham practice were extremely helpful. Plus the recovery time was incredibly quick. Couldn’t recommend Optical Express more.

While as yet my correction is healing well, there feels to me a number of small changes that would make a massive difference to customer experience. - on both my consultation apt day (which overran so I was there 3hrs instead of 90 minutes), and my day of surgery (there 2hrs 45), I wasn't offered a single cup of coffee. Perhaps I'm expecting too much but when you're spending thousands, I think surely there should be sufficient funds available for this. - the waiting room before surgery was both cold in temperature and in aesthetic. The other waiting room felt like a place you didn't mind waiting in, but the other was not a nice place to be in at all. - when I said to a member of staff that my apt was at 9:50 and it was now 12, they just said, "that's just the way it is. You never know how long each patient is going to take". A courtesy apology wouldn't have gone amiss, and if typically it's slower, spread out apts so we're not waiting anxiously in a cold room for longer than needed. - Staff were nice, but, aside from on my consultation day where I was notified of a delay (continued updates would have been nice) there were no efforts to keep people informed of delays or a rough time to be seen on the day of surgery or any apologies for the wait. - I also wasn't informed about the need for sunglasses. I found this out from one of the other clients. With all this, I will however say the surgeon seemed knowledgeable and kind and staff were pleasant. I had better than 20/20 vision less than 24hrs later, which is amazing after glasses for 17 years. Just a shame these seemingly small points let down the experience. Positively, I think these could be easily fixed.
