United Kingdom | 24 March 2025I had laser eye surgery almost 6 months ago, and due to my previously high prescription, it has taken until now for my corneal haze and dry eyes to resolve. This has been a very long process with many appointments and different treatment plans, together with poor vision until this cleared. Ultimately, the surgery has worked, and for this I am delighted, but I would encourage anyone with a high prescription to do their research first and understand that it could potentially take many months before they can for example drive again. One of my frustrations during this time has been the lack of appointments when needed, as the Exeter clinic is closed for several days per week. When I for example had a serious eye infection, I was not able to be seen and ended up in the eye hospital. I have also found it frustrating how one clinician would tell me one thing and another would tell me the opposite. For example, I was told in January that I needed further laser eye surgery which was very distressing to come to terms with, only to be told in February that I definitely did not need further laser eye surgery and it was unclear why I had been told that. The Exeter reception and management team have always been very friendly and helpful. I would also like to particularly thank Mitra, the excellent optometrist who I have seen more recently. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and by following her eyecare recommendations, things quickly improved for me.

United Kingdom | 24 March 2025I had both of my natural lenses replaced with verifocal lens implants. They were both replaced at the same time. The procedure was carried out by Pedro Gonzales at the Nottingham Optical Express surgery. The staff explained the procedure and the preparation clearly. They regularly checked on my wellbeing and ensured that I was relaxed. They instilled confidence throughout. The actual procedure was painless and very quick. My recovery was amazing. The very next day I was cleared to drive again and went to the cinema. Other that my eyes feeling a little “gritty’ for a couple of days there was no significant discomfort. I am very happy with the outcome and highly recommend Optical Express to anyone thinking of lens replacement. I have referred a couple of friends to Optical Express who have had the same procedure and are equally happy.

The Optometrist Laura put me at ease when conducting my examination. I would highly recommend the Liverpool clinic and service.

United Kingdom | 23 March 2025Be aware! Stay away! Don’t even bother booking a consultation! Booked a consultation and then a week before the consultation I had to move it. They charged me £50 for it even though I gave them plenty of notice to move the appointment. Ended up cancelling it - stay clear of this company.

United Kingdom | 23 March 2025I cannot recommend the lens replacement surgery highly enough. I was desperate to be glasses free, but also very scared to take the plunge. All of the staff were very patient and understanding throughout my journey, including the girl at reception on the ground floor. Apologies for not knowing names. I had my surgery on 14th Jan 2025 and have not regretted my decision since. Although the improvement is almost immediate, it does take time for everything to settle down, or at least it has for me. I have dry eyes, and have experienced pretty strong halos at night, however I am now 8 weeks post operative and these things are settling down (like they said would happen) and I hardly notice any halos now. The service provided by Optical Express Glasgow was fantastic, they were on hand to answer any questions both pre and post operative and had no hesitation to me popping in to be checked when I was experiencing any discomfort. I have not regretted my decision at all.

My eye assessment was carried out by Bobbi, who was absolutely fantastic. He provided me with so much valuable information that I had never known before, explaining everything in detail with great professionalism. His knowledge and expertise were outstanding. Overall, an excellent experience—highly recommend!

Day of surgery was well organised and plenty of care provided, surgery went well and aftercare provided. Follow up appointment next day is a very nice aspect to check everything is good.

Upon arrival the staff very friendly and extremely helpful and in no time I was having final tests and then the surgery happened; this lasted 20/25 mins for both eyes and the surgeon and nurses where very thorough. Return visit the next day and again the whole thing was extremely professional but homely in the same way. I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about lens replacement, the amount of care and attention is more than I expected 5⭐️

I booked my surgery date 4 weeks after my consultation at the Bridgewater hospital, the day of the procedure went relatively smoothly. I was again spoken to about all risks etc had the surgery, came home and had a nap, recovery was uncomfortable but not painful. Just had my last monthly check up I have better than 20/20 vision and am free from glasses. Although the procedure wasn't pleasant for me, I'm very happy with the outcome. Thanks optical express!
