United Kingdom | 01 August 2024Closed for a refurb for two months after taking over a property. Billed us for over £5k!!!!! to have some lights on (small shop) Complained and they reviewed and now want £1k. They are useless. Trying to charge £6.19 a day standing charge!!! Never ever ever consider using these sharks. Customer service is pointless.

United Kingdom | 06 July 2024AVOID. Do not use Engie, they make up imaginary figures for your start read even when you submit photographic evidence. When you enter your meter readings online, they ignore them and make up a figure of their own. We inherited a contract with them and even though our contract ended in March we are still waiting on a refund. Out of a bad bunch, Engie must surely be the worst.

United Kingdom | 19 June 2024Finally managed got out of contract with Engie..never been through that bad experience before ..thanks to energy ombusdman helped me out from them..

United Kingdom | 06 June 2024Engie are impossible to deal with as none of the separate departments seem to communicate with each other and having departments that are not contactable by customers means giving 1 start as a review if far too generous as there is zero customer service so they should have a zero rating! We are trying to get a supply reconnected following a previous tenant going into liquidation and have been told by various staff in the debt recovery team that this is sat with the Energy Assets as MOP to arrange a date however the MOP have advised that the metering team at Engie have not put in a request for this and their hands are tied until they receive this! We have now raised a complaint and have been promised on a number of occasions a call back from this metering team, who ignore all emails sent direct to them, but still no call back or reply from them to emails. Will continue to bang my head against a brick wall and will make by 25th call to them tomorrow to see if I can finally get some sort of update!

United Kingdom | 16 April 2024Another advice for all BUSINESSES. DO NOT sign a CONTRACT with them. We had 2 years contract with them and it was a nightmare with an usurious prices and very bad customer services. It took them 6 months to transfer my new tenancy progress so i had to pay over £3000 for 6 months out of contract or stay in contract with a bit better prices. All the inappropriate charges i had to pay off or they cut your power supply. I raised my issues from Nov/23 and before but till April/24 they still investigating and no reply. Even I finished my contract on Feb/24 and cleared all payments with their confirmation but they still do not refund my deposit of £1500 till now. They just ignore all my claims and emails. Very horrible customer services!

United Kingdom | 17 March 2024Engie uk have been commiting fraud by supplying a residential property on commercial basis without verification through an agent. As owner of the property, it has been a nightmare taking Engie to the Energy Ombudsman to rectify the situation. Even with the Ombudsman ruling Engie now will not provide the SMART meter actual readings or complete remidial action as required by the timeframe the Ombudsman stated. Instead they are estimating and chasing me for energy usage at over £1000 a month on a 3 bed house. Complaints to Engie has been dealt with total incompetence and non existing customer service or desire to resolve. 4 months of anxiety and stress and still no resolution. I an retired and vulnerable, Engie informed still payment demands weekly. Would rate them at zero stars, unethical business practices and inconsiderate , do not care for customer well being, just demand fradulant bills.

United Kingdom | 07 February 2024Thiis has to be the worst electric company, I have ever had to deal with, the blend and extend is a complete con. we were promised as soon as electric rates reduced, our invoices would decrease, this did not happen, then they tell you a whole bunch of rules concerning blend and extend, that were never told to you when you take out the contract. Then when you leave and another tenant takes over it takes months to even get the contracts closed. They string it out and then try to charge the new tenant stupid amounts for there electric for the months. they are a complete and utter con firm and do not deserve anyones custom. I advise you all to AVOID THIS COMPANY, every other electric firm i have dealt with in the past after being in business for over 30 years and moved companies on many times, the max time it has taken is 3 weeks. They say is takes 3 months, just soo they can con the incoming company to out of contract prices unless they resign with them. AVOID AVOID AVOID

United Kingdom | 07 February 2024I have been trying to reach a settlement for our Blend & Extend deal for 10 months. There was no small print or details on the contract I signed, just a 2 page leaflet. I first asked to blend & extend my contract on 04.04.2023. I recieved my first offer in September, with no possibility of back dating it to the request date. The offer itself bore no resemblence to the terms in the leaflet. After much wrangling they have improved the offer twice (in December) but still refuse to offer the blended rate until the current contract expires. They are in clear breach of contract.

United Kingdom | 29 January 2024Our advice to all businesses: DO NOT sign up with this entity. DO NOT believe their offerings. Especially their BLEND & EXTEND. Get legal advice. Their contract terms are NOT IN YOUR FAVOUR. Share your experience energyscammer at gmail.com

United Kingdom | 27 October 2023Do not deal with this company. Out of the blue, Engie informed my company Bastion Glassfibre Limited that they were applying for a disconnection notice to switch off supply to my factory at 2 Harvey Close, Crowther Industrial Estate, Washington. We had never heard of Engie who were claining almost £5,969.55that we owed Engie for the supply of energy to our factory unit. Bastion had rented the factory for 20 years from the landlord and had never used Engie to supply either gas or electricity to our premises. I asked Engie for a copy of their supply contract with Bastion and statement of the alleged debt against their Account No 10160202. Engie did not want to know they just kept threatening disconnection unless we paid the £5,969.55. We found out that Engie were originaly chasing SQR Print and Design for the debt, but as they went bust 20 years ago, Engie then decided to pursue another company on our estate called Northern Hydraulics, Limited. when Engie found out that they went bust, they decided to pursue Bastion for the alleged debt. I rang up Engie several times toi no avail and sent emails, but they were sure that Bastion were in debt to Engie, despite the fact that Engie could not provide proff of contract or invoices for their supply. They justified their claim by stating the MPAN meter number that they owned the supply from that meter was located at our factory unit, therefore, we were liable for a debt which must have been more 20 years old. For the last 20 years we had been paying all energy supplied to our factory unit without any problems. In 50 years of business I have never encountered a company who without grounds to substantiate a claim of debt with the threat of pending legal action unless monies were handed over to prevent imminent litigation. We are awaiting someone to disconnect our energy supply, however, the factory is cuurently kept locked to all visitors with staff having their own factory keys. However, Engie says if we prevent access ordered by the Courts we will be liable for any costs incurred by preventing by such an action. We are currently awaiting Engie trying to disconnect our energy supply Jeff Redmayne

United Kingdom | 27 September 2023Absolutely dreadful company - do not use Was "persuaded" by a broker to sign a contract as they said prices were going to go through the roof - back in October 22 (last year) for a contract to start in December 23. Since then I have been trying to get out of the contract - first asked back in December 22. They refused. I have asked again and again - is there a penalty for exiting the contract. They will not let me out of the contract. It is extortionate compared to today's rates - over £2 daily standing charge and 60p/unit!!! I can get a contract for less than half that but they will not release me from the contract.

United Kingdom | 17 July 2023My wife worked for Engie in Southend on Sea Essex from 2012 to 2015 on the telereal trillium contract as a cleaning supervisor. She was never paid the correct rate. Evelyn had been diagnosed with cadiovascular and renal health issues. This notwithstanding Evelyn went over above and beyond working for this evil people. Doing multiple sites working late into the night. In 2015 owing to Evelyns health condition detiorating we went abroad on holiday for a break unfortunately Evelyn's condition got much more worse. This meant that Evelyn could not travel back to the uk and continue working until she was stablelised. We got in touch with Engie and made them aware of this. They showed zero sympathy. Instead they terminated her contract unlawfully. Unfortunately Evelyn passed away a few days after. I will be filing a historic claim for damages sueing Engie for the mental anguish and distress they caused Evelyn and Death in Service Award.

United Kingdom | 01 February 2023Absolutely ridiculous customer service. They seem to have no idea what they're doing. They never update you directly, you have to constantly chase them, leading to endless delays. We have now been trying to get a final bill so we can close our business for almost 3 months and the end is nowhere in sight. Never had any problems with Engie until we tried to leave and since then it's been a nightmare. They are literally preventing us from closing our business and have left me.no choice but to leave this review. Avoid like the plague.

United Kingdom | 12 January 2023Stay well clear, no communication and very unproffesional, especially when trying to contact to speak with ‘liaison officers’ you contact the liaison officer and they say they will call back but never do, you end up chasing and don’t get a response, they just ignore you completely. Once you have spoken to someone, they say they will get someone to contact you but after this there is no communication, you are COMPLETELY IGNORED. Really unprofessional and untrustworthy. I will name and shame as there is still no response, absolute scam! The so called ‘liaison officer’ Hayley Cox has no communication at all, no matter how many emails I have sent or called she never responds to you or answers your calls. These people need urgent investigation. They choose to ignore you and only get in contact when they feel like it. How are they still operating?! Next step Ombudsman, luckily I have all the emails and calls saved, absolute scammers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

United Kingdom | 10 January 2023What a scammy, vile lot. They give you ridiculous hours to wait, even when you wait all day they never turn up. Had to wait 6 days with my ceiling exposed, while they were here all the man did was moan how hard the job was and how tired he was. Told me would take him 4 hours so he booked 4 hours for the job, took him an hour and he stayed in his van for the rest. They lie and never turn up. But are suddenly available to harass you for money though.. scammers!!!!
