Recently, I ordered a refrigerator from AJ MADISON after confirming the compatibility details over the phone with a representative. I was assured that the model provided was a suitable replacement for the previous unit. Upon delivery, we discovered that the refrigerator did not fit the intended space, despite following the company's guidance. When I attempted to return the item, I was informed of a 30% restocking fee, amounting to approximately $900. This fee is excessive, especially considering the mistake stemmed from inaccurate information provided by the company’s representative. I requested a review of the recorded call to verify the details of the conversation where I was misinformed. The company claimed they could not locate the call, leaving me with no recourse but to either pay the fee or keep an unusable appliance. Given the nature of my business, I intended to continue purchasing from this company, but due to this experience, I will no longer use or recommend their services. I am filing this complaint to address the unfair restocking fee and the lack of accountability for misinformation provided by their staff.

United States | 22 February 2025This company is the WORST. I bought a microwave from them and paid nearly $200 to have it installed. The team arrives, unpacks the box and the unit is damaged - huge dents. They call in and I am offered a 20% discount to take it "as is." Um, no. So they reschedule for two days later to return with a replacement. The new team comes and I am informed that they cannot install it because it would mean removing screws from my cabinet where the old one was secured. Fine, I will remove the screws. But then the new screws won't line up with the old holes so they can't do anything. HUH? Didn't I pay for installation? Why was this never made clear when I bought it? I cancelled the order and will buy elsewhere. Here's the kicker - AJ office just called to say that since I canceled the order they are charging me a 35% restock fee unless I want the team to return and I pay another $200 for them to drill the holes. I couldn't stop laughing. This company is a joke. Buyer beware - they are not upfront about installation costs and terms, and will fleece you when you run into a problem. NEVER AGAIN.

United States | 04 February 2025Ordered $4200 of high end washer dryer. I discovered there is an installation kit for LG flatter venting. Attempted to contact AJ Madison for this kit. Zero response to request for info on the kit, or request to cancel The machines were delivered. None of the issues with installation kits required or installation services were addressed. This Internet retailer used delayed response and deflection via boilerplate emails to achieve their delivery drop; precisely what I called so many times to avoid; now I have appliances in a garage, uninstalled, no installation kit, and no recourse against AJ Madison

Ordered microwave but it was delivered 10 days later than projected date. We had an event so had to buy another microwave locally but they wanted to charge us $700 fee to return the unopened box. Now stuck with an extra appliance due to their incompetence.

United States | 19 January 2025I purchased appliances with the additional 5 year warranty from AJ Madison in 2021. The over the range microwave handle broke last year and I was told by the warranty company, New Leaf, that the handle is cosmetic and not covered. Last month the handle totally broke off. The microwave won’t open without the handle, rendering the appliance unusable. The warranty company continued to state that the handle is cosmetic and not covered. The microwave door has to be taken apart to fix the handle. I consider that dangerous to do myself. I contacted AJ Madison and they contacted the warranty company, who told them the appliance was not covered. AJ Madison sent me a “wipe our hands of the situation” letter and have ignored my continued correspondence. My advice is to steer clear of AJ Madison. Appliances are an investment, and if the company will not stand behind their products, they cannot be considered trustworthy.

United States | 14 January 2025I would never recommend this company to do anything whatsoever. You are not saving any money by buying their "cheaper" appliances. They will drain you of your time and money trying to get them to do what you originally paid for. It's been 5 months after ordering full set of appliances, The range still hasn't been replaced since it arrived damaged, and the microwave is the same. The dishwasher door doesn't close properly and water accumulates in the basin causing a moldy smell. The refusal of the AJ Madison to promptly fix these thing is unacceptable. Their reliance on AM trucking home installation who does a poor job is also a problem.

After paying for it (credit card not good enough, needed to send picture of both sides and photo ID) i was told it couldn’t be sent to my address or the nearest town to me. Had to ship it to a friends house five hours away. Was told it would be in at the end of the month. Got it six weeks later. The worst part is their customer service - terrible on most occasions. Between email, phone calls and texts I had dozens of communications with them. You know it’s bad when you can rattle off the nine digit order number from memory. They placate you with generalities. I will NEVER order anything from them again - worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

United States | 30 October 2024BEWARE of aj Madison !!!! I have been getting the run around from them about a refrigerator I “attempted“ to purchase for over 2 1/2 months. First the LIE. We have it in stock and can be delivered to you by the end of next week. A week goes buy, no frig, no contact from them. I call, did I mention the wait times once you place an order are horrible?, only to find out they have to get the refrigerator from Summit, aj Madison does not stock it! Also no idea when it will be in. Couple weeks go buy with nothing from them, I call back. Not in their possession yet, SHOULD be soon. Tell them I am installing on our boat and we are leaving the location we originally wanted it delivered in 2 weeks, if it is not delivered by then and I have an alternative address. I even tried to give them that address then but was told they would call/email once the frig shows up and get that info. HA, I call a few days later to update with the new address and guess what since we were leaving but guess what, the frig is on the way to the original address but no date for delivery was known. All this is in their notes as each different person reads the notes then immediately starts to apologize. I am told I would have to pay $95 x2 to change the delivery, $95 to ship back to them and $95 to ship to new address! After much complaining they waived that charge. That was 3 weeks ago, the refrigerator was supposed to be back to them last week, didn’t happen. Called last week promised it would be in their hands by Monday, wrong again! Finally today, Tuesday, after couple hours on phone was able to get a straight answer, sorta. The refrigerator is somewhere between the original address in Md and NJ, but have no idea when it will come in??? Had enough of the lies and excessive wait times, canceled the order and ordered from Home Depot, $200 more but have a firm delivery date. (hopefully). I would give no stars if I could!

It was complicated in that when they delivered the dishwasher, a leak in my water line was discovered. A plumber was called to fix the leak before the dishwasher could be installed, a several day process. JM my sales contact was on top of the issues the entire time, fast, professional and assuring me that all would be fine. It was! Second issue when the stove was delivered it could not fit into kitchen. I had to have the kitchen door removed before installation. A two day process, my responsibility. AJMadison's sales contact, same man, was on top of the problem, delivering time, repeat service, etc. .professional, fast, ex feedback. He made what was a "trying experience" the very best it could be, to help me. I cannot recommend enough the products, the SERVICE, follow up...it was superb TO MANAGEMENT: you have a most valued employee!

They keep telling you they will help but then transfer you from one person to the next. They make it impossible to place a simple ecommerce order online. I had a schedule delivery date and they never even came or informed me. Validating to see so many other 1-star reviews here.

This company is basically just a distributor. Do not use them. They know nothing about the products they are selling.

I was told on the phone it was in stock and can be delivered to my home on Monday (i.e. today) morning. And then NOTHING. I have called 7 times since Thursday morning and I have sent 6 emails to them. They do not reply to ANY of my calls or emails!! Order #: 183908275 I am calling my bank to dispute right away. WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER.

AJ Madison then did delivery and installation/debris removal (everything went smoothly, and at that time, I purchased 6 appliances). There was a clear schedule, they stuck to it, and all worked. However, for a family of three, the Electrolux washing machine lasted 2 1/2 years before ball bearing failure. I reluctantly replaced with same unit once more (our laundry room requires a unit with an adjustable washer door, limiting brand options). AJ Madison delivered this time (I paid about $200 for what I was led to believe was white glove service). When I ordered, it said it was in-stock and could be delivered and installed within a week. NOPE. Took 3 weeks and zero communication until a couple days before they told me they were in fact coming with new machine. That was bad, but it only got worse. They confused about which way door should be mounted, left huge box and debris in my driveway, despite my asking repeatedly before installation about white glove service (both with delivery company AND AJ Madison--was told I had white glove service by AJ Madison before delivery, but charged an additional $75 at that time, so $200 for installation, removal, etc.). I paid a lot for delivery, installation, and haul away, so disappointing to have to do this for a washer that may not last. The response after debris was left in driveway was equally disappointing (spent hours on hold and was sent back and forth between AJ Madison and the subcontracting delivery company). After many hours on the phone, the "resolution" offered was reimbursement of $35 and leaving me to deal with a box and debris that I now have to pay to have removed). This will be my last Electrolux and more importantly, my last AJ Madison purchase. I even tried to leave a review on their website, but of course, nothing happens when you click the "submit" button. The box and debris are still sitting in my driveway.

I have been reaching out for several weeks to online sales person Joseph Feltz as well as customer service and no response! The delivery team were extremely rude and unprofessional. I received the refrigerator with a scratch but didn't complain about that because I didn't want to go through anymore aggravation!
