Initially we were dealing with the mortgage broker but all paperwork from Pepper was sent through in a timely manner and easy to understand. As the mortgage has now progressed we have begun to discuss with Pepper direct and at every stage we have been met with a warm and friendly service. All our questions have been answered without being made to feel silly or stupid. Recently I had a call from Pepper by a gentleman called Gavin. Gavin just wanted to check in, make sure we understood the current status and next steps right through to completion. It was honestly such a welcomed phone call and brilliant Customer Service. Gavin was polite, professional but offered empathy and understanding as if talking to a friend which just made us feel even more at ease and knowing we had picked the right lender!

The fact that I got a phone call on day 1 of the application from the underwriter to introduce themselves really sets Pepper apart from many of the other lenders out there. Call from underwriter 1 day after submission - advising what was needed to progress the case. He also listened to the back story and made note of the circumstances, making it easier and simplifying the application process. Post offer, still a great service - customer very happy. Communication on this complex case better than most with a simple case.

United Kingdom | 16 May 2024They will get you onboard but if you want to borrow money as a second charge mortgage lender they will stop you from doing anything. We wanted to borrow with our main lender to put a new kitchen in and they wouldn’t allow it. They only allow you to borrow for repairs. They also decided to leave this decision until the last minute meaning that my remortgage with the main lender wouldn’t go through. Also to add, as I’ve now missed the deadline for the remortgage and now on a new rate Pepper lost me £700 in interest with my current lender, double what the payment used to be.
