United Kingdom | 09 February 2025My work limits me to Cycle Solutions for our Cycle to Work Scheme and I spent nearly a month working my way through their stock of electric bikes. I, eventually, saw I could actually buy my bike from another company but it had to a dealer 'approved' by them and I called their Customer Services and found the sellers of 2 bikes I had seen advertised, were not approved, so could not get those bikes. During the Christmas / New Year holidays, I saw another 3 bikes from other sellers but my voicemail messages to Customer Services to check if these sellers were 'approved' went unanswered. After 2 weeks (and 3 calls), I emailed in and received a reply a day or so later where they explained the section of their website allowed me to check if the seller's approved, myself. You have to log into Cycle Solutions through your employer's Cycle to Work Scheme (in my case it was Edenred) and then scroll down on the home page and click on the banner saying "Order Via Partner Store". Just above the map is a small search bar where you can type in the name of the seller to check if they're approved (just remember to also select "Name of Shop" as the search defaults to "Place/postcode"). Another pointer is to speak to the seller - in my case, I had been told to fill in the form and Cycle Solutions would sort the rest out. To be fair, once I submitted the form, I got a reply and notification I was able to pick up my bike within a few days but when I went to the shop, they didn't know anything about my order and had to check with their Head Office. They, also, told me that my bike was advertised as being on sale so incurred a 10% surcharge! The guy in the shop said that had I come into the shop and spoken to them first, they would've told me all of this but, at any rate, Cycle Solutions should've made me aware as they (apparently) know! Slightly disappointed with Cycle Solutions, if this is the case and my purchase was made more complicated because the bike was £2,999 and the surcharge would've taken me over the £3,000 limit. It took a bit of negotiation and I accepted the same bike but with a slightly smaller battery so it all worked out in the end.
