I am hoping that through the supplier and Ercol that the problem with the chair will be soon be resolved. Thank you so far Ercol!

United Kingdom | 31 May 2023Bought an Ercol Novara arm chair last year from the retail outlet to accompany the sofa which we already have. 2 weeks ago my daughter sat in the chair and the seating collapsed literally (luckily she was okay - if it had been me I wouldn't have been as I have a torn back muscle already). Sent photos to email address for customer care followed up after a day or two as I didn't hear anything with a phone call. Told rather unhelpfully they couldn't find what I'd sent could I send it again someone would get back to me? They didn't so chased a second time, this time an assistant did send me an email implying that we'd broken the chair - they could offer us a 10% discount to buy more furniture as the chair was unrepairable. I was furious - the chair has barely been used this is evident from the photos, plus the sofa we've had for a few years and its been fine. I then found an email for one of the Directors and emailed him - in fairness he promised someone would come back to me and answered out of work hours which diffused things a little as I thought that meant that someone cared! But again took a few days before I had a response from customer services, same person as before (I chased it). This time they would refund my chair costs and offer 10% discount but the chair would have to be returned. I asked if it could be repaired/replaced - explaining that it accompanied a sofa they said 'No'. I'm still waiting for someone to arrange collection. I'm really upset that the chair broke - I've got a few vintage pieces of Ercol and having the sofa and arm chair was aspirational. I've now realised that the quality is obviously gone for Ercol and as for customer service, disappointing. In response to the email below - no one has been in contact to arrange collection. The last contact was 26 May. Additional I was told my money would be refunded when the chair was collected - the message below seems to suggest that may not be the case? 16/6/2023 Just a further up date - today I finally received a refund. Such a pity this has been such a bad journey. I had to chase again but finally spoke to a customer service lady who seemed to genuinely care and duly things were sorted out.

United Kingdom | 25 May 2023Bought several items for my dining room 2 years ago. Spent thousands £ as I hoped all would last a lifetime. After one year a chair broke and the retail store sent someone to repair. I did want a replacement!! Another year later same thing happened. I’m not happy. Furniture store sent someone to assess so I phoned Ercol and asked could they replace the chairs please. Sold with a 20 year guarantee. Very condescending customer service operator said she had never heard of 20 year guarantees, and she was apparently very experienced having worked there 20+ years. Unhelpful and told me to phone the store as Ercol do not give guarantees on their furniture. So what happens if the store that sold them closes down?? Sent three emails to them and had one response which didn’t answer my question of replacement. Other emails ignored. Asked for CEO or MD name and email, they refused. I wanted to show them the shoddy chair. We are pensioners and not obese so very little useage. Our lifetime dining set is sadly not as expected.

United Kingdom | 11 May 2023Have owned Ercol furniture for more than 30 years. Some pieces starting to look somewhat worn so contacted customer care for suggestions for wax to help reduce marks. Response effectively don’t ask us, go to a furniture restorer.

I did not realise this could happen & it's been a week now with no news of replacement chair. I'm so disillusioned especially with poor service in expecting replacement chair.

The price was excellent and the table offered the extra seating that was occasionally needed. Easy to order online, I was kept up to date with the delivery schedule and it arrived very quickly.

The tv unit was assembled in the box but had the glass shelves just rolling around inside. They guy also went “well, we don’t usually take the packaging but we will this time!” Like yes do because I paid for it!

The sofa moving mechanism was tested by the polite and professional delivery men before they departed. A very pleasant experience from ordering to final delivery.

They never fail to disappoint. The furniture that I purchased is made of solid ash and the graining is beautiful. If anyone wishes to buy solid wood furniture they would not be disappointed when choosing Ercol, I highly recommend them
