Having thought that Ercol made quality furniture, we placed an order for a dining chair in July 2019 and were told that it would be a maximum of eight weeks for delivery. The chair finally turned up in October , when we got the chair home and took it out of the box to assemble it we found the chrome frame was very rough and not finished properly, and there was a mark in the oak veneer on the back of the chair. The shop asked us to take pictures of the poor finish to send to Ercol, who agreed to send a replacement, which we had to wait until December for. Then the shop's service department rang us to say the replacement chair had arrived but the chrome frame was rusty and they felt that it was not suitable as a replacement. At this point I wrote a letter of complaint to Ercol saying how let down I felt after waiting over FIVE months and still not having a suitable chair. I made clear in my letter that I was NOT prepared to wait another eight weeks or more for another replacement to me sent. Ercol acknowledged my letter by email and said they would discuss what to do next with the shop. Then I had another email saying that they were going to send me another replacement chair. When I checked with the shop they told me that I would have to wait another eight weeks which I told them I wasn't prepared to wait again for. I email the person I had been dealing with at ercol asking if they had read my letter at all, needless to say they did not reply, useless company avoid at all costs on my experience.

Ercol Bosco Coffee table. Table seems well manufactured. However the wood colour was very different from that displayed in the showroom. The one received is horrible dark greyish oak. Rather unpleasenat. Also a prominent dark knot on the side. Ercol represented refused to change and commented to supplier that furniture would mellow over time to match lighter furniture. This explanation is totally wrong as Ercol wood darkens over time. Clearly quality control over wood purchase is poor. Customer service is incompetent. Best avoided unless you like very grey oak.

I find this hard to write being a proud Brit but beware of this company, they are trading on their past good company name, we have had a number of suites from them in the past but no more. We bought a Cosenza Suite and what a mistake, just after two years we have what appears to be stain marks all over the covers, they sent out an inspector and before he had even inspected the suite he told us it was normal wear! There are only the two of us and the marks are on every seat cushion both bottoms and backs, this suit we have found out is not made in the UK and is imported, you are not even able to get replacement covers. You pay for quality but get no better service than buying from a chain, spend your money wisely we will next time.

I ordered a Windsor Quaker carver chair and 13 weeks later I still have not received my chair. Just be aware of this length of time that you wait for your furniture when you order from Ercol.
