Everything was okay except i couldn't send a text message from Israel to USA. It may have been that I did something wrong. Other than the one text, everything was fine calls went through quickly and clearly.

The cell phone was easy to rent, it was explained very thoroughly by the personnel on the telephone, instructions were clear, it was sent in a timely manner, and returning it was easy. Besides all of that, it worked well in the country that I rented it for.

Simple to get the phone working. I had trouble with the email & Internet, but I called and was walked through it in a few minutes.

I picked up a rental phone from A to Z a few days before my trip to Israel. The memory in the phone I rented had not been erased. During my stay in Israel, I used only the adapter so that I could charge my own smart phone, which allowed me to send and receive email.

First I want to say that I have used Amigo U.S. service to rent phones for my many trips to Israel and had very good service each of the times. But ,sorry to say that this time, on my trip to Bulgaria, Macedonia and Greece, I could only make 1 phone call , while I was in Sofia, Bulgaria, and no phone calls while I was in Macedonia and Greece. I could not get service to even make a phone call. I received my phone along with the standard "blue" instruction sheet that was identical to the instruction sheet that I had previously used on my trips to Israel. This sheet ,for this trip ,was totally unhelpful. Frustrated, I resorted to use another phone to make my necessary phone calls, at my expense. Since I was losing time, each time I tried to use the Amigo supplied phone, I didn't bother to try and call Amigo services to try to get an answer as to why I could not get phone service. I do not wish to pay for a service I did not receive, and will not. As always, when I ordered the phone , I spoke to a courteous, and efficient Amigo representative. However, he gave no intimation that phone service in these 3 countries was in any way, unreliable. All in all, my first bad experience with Amigo's services.

We had a phone for my daughter for a month in Israel and it was great. She was able to be in contact with friends and family. Thanks.

I borrowed a phone at a local store and they were efficient and polite. I used the phone a few times, but needed it more for emergencies, which I had none.

I contracted for a blackberry phone since it gave me unlimited telephone calls to and from the states and internet and text messaging. Unfortunately there were no instructions on how to use the phone. there were instructions on how to connect to email. the email connection via the internet did not work and i was on the phone with amigo in the states for hours trying to get it to work. finally it worked. then i had to find someone to help me figure out how to use the phone. it is very different from the iPhone i am accustomed to. i figured it out enuf to use the phone part, but the rest was difficult. I had to connect my iPhone to international plan while i was in israel to use text messaging. then my phone was disconnected 1 day before i left so i couldn't use it all. so while the phone was working for phone calls it was great. i would not use that phone again. amigo has no offices in israel so there was noone i could turn to for more help.

While we were able to use the Amigo SIM card to make our calls and get data, there were lots of situations where we had no service. Other times we would have weak service. Getting data was an issue. It was generally very slow. We were able use Google maps but again it was slow. In the end, we mostly used the wifi at the hotel. If asked if I would use service again, I would pursue a different service

The phone was delivered as promised but failed to have the US number and the return label. A call to Amigo got me the number but no return label. I had to reboot the phone per the instructions to get it to work in Israel. After that, it worked just fine. Would have given it 5 stars if not for the stated glitches.

Carol Hubner. The first 3 days in Israel, the ringer on my phone to hear the phone calls did not work, The vibrator did but I carried the phone in my purse. I contacted the Israel number and got no answer. Then I contacted the American number and finally someone answered and said that they would take care of it. Nothing happened. At last, I went to a local store in Petach Tikva and the owner tried different things to raise the ringer volume. Until then, I was calling out. I expected to call people in Israel, but I made up with the Americans, that they should call me esp. in the beginning. After that, it was all right.

This is the third time I rented a phone for use in Israel and each time the service, quality and value was definitely there.

i ordered a blackberry so i would be able to check e-mails,etc. in addition to phone calls-when i put the phone on at the airport it had the prior customer's info in there. i had all their e-mails, contact information at my fingertips. i e-mailed amigo saying that they should have cleared out the phone before giving it to another customer and was told i should follow the instructions and do it myself. i basically just used it for calls.

Wanted a cell phone for use in Israel. All was good, but the maps feature didn't work which is a main reason that I rented the phone. Couldn't google map and if I got lost, the phone wouldn't be able to help me. I phoned Amigo in the USA and they said that they are not responsbible for the apps. Also, all internet searches were coming up in the UK and i couldn't figure out how to do a usa search.

the card made my trip so easy - from navigating using maps and emailing photos on the spot back home, to calling and receiving calls from our many contacts in Israel

The price of the phones is definitely reasonable but the phones are very basic. It has been a long time since I had to type text messages using the phone number/letter keys. It's a bit tedious once you've been used to a smartphone. The only choice for a smart phone was a Blackberry and it was much more expensive than the regular phones so I didn't go for that option (and I am an iPhone user anyway). Other than that the phones functioned well enough for basic calling, but we did get one of our phones with the wrong type of charger so that was a bit of an inconvenience.
