United States | 30 April 2015First the good...ordering the phone from Amigo is easy online, reasonably priced and the phone comes quickly with a return UPS label...very convenient. As for the blackberry...I know blackberry well. This one was great for calls and worked right away...but the keypad and rollerball were very clumsy to use and the keys hard to use also making e-mailing and browsing a real chore...again, this coming from a blackberry user. I do not know if the phone was just old and over used or an earlier and limited model.

United States | 25 April 2015Once I found the agent in Manhattan it worked well. I found him very helpful. The whole process was straightforward and hassle-free. It particularly suited my current needs to have a cheap pair of phones that my wife and I could use in case of getting separated, without the need for fancy plans. However, now I know that Israeli rental car companies hand out mini iPads with the Waze application to act as a GPS system, I shall probably take the sim card option in my smart phone next time, and do it myself. Apparently Verizon is opening all of its phones in future, so using a sim card should be straightforward..

United States | 22 April 2015when i arrived in israel i was unable to get my sim card to work. the problem was that customer service was unavailable as they run on NY time zone. once the office opened in NY customer service was able to help me right away and problem resolved. the rest of my stay Amigo was great, no problems!!

United States | 17 April 2015We were not able to access the internet AT ALL!!! We had to pay our car company an extra $200 to rent an IPad and use the internet. Honestly, I would like our money back since we couldn't use the net at all.

United States | 15 April 2015I had a very pleasant experience with my Amigo phone during a recent trip to Israel. I picked it up and returned it to their Teaneck location which was very convenient for me. The phone worked great and did not disappoint me. The only negative was that the phone didn't work outside Israel (during my stopover); I was prepared to pay extra roaming charges but the phone calls didn't go through at all.

United States | 14 April 2015I rented a phone through Amigo and had to go 45 minutes to their retail location. I did not think to turn it on in the store, got home and realized it would not turn on or take a charge. The hassle of going back and wasting those hours were exhausting. And they would not let me exchange it but had to go through the rental process all over again. Nightmare.

United States | 02 April 2015I have rented from Amigo several times and generally have been satisfied. This last time however, I was sent the wrong recharger with the phone, and I was leaving the following day so there was no time to get another. I was abroad and no one from home was able to get a call through. The phone did work for me locally, and when I called the States. I sent the phone back immediately upon my return. For two weeks they said they did not receive it, and then I got an email saying they had received it 3 days after I sent it. Even when I called to find out what had happened, they told me the phone had not been returned. I got no refund for the wrong recharger or inability of receiving calls from the States.

United States | 31 March 2015We rented a basic phone and the simple plan for two weeks in Israel. Total final cost was $40. It was delivered on time and return was no biggie...follow the direction. The times we needed it really came in handy calling cabs, checking reservations, etc. I never did figure out the 'US number'option. That could use more explanation. Phone was 'Blu' branded phone. Older model but worked fine. Nice and small and kept charged the whole time. Knocked down one star because provide manual was poor. This is really an issue with the phone manufacturer. I think if you just need a basic phone and do not want the unneeded expense of a 'Geo-Phone' or the hassle of swapping SIM cards in another country for your unlocked smart phone than this is a good option

United States | 26 March 2015There were places where I was unable to get service which was frustrating but for the most part it worked well.

United States | 25 March 2015Pickup was easy, no fees. There are some hidden taxes and fees that I probably should've known about before, but pretty reasonable.

Canada | 20 March 2015I picked up my Amigo phone in Toronto at the designated pick-up and drop off location. I bought a 350 minute basic phone plan. When I reached my destination, the phone worked as written on the enclosed instructions. It was easy to call my family in Canada while I was away. This trip convinced me and I will always use Amigo when I travel overseas.

United States | 20 March 2015I used an Amigo phone in Israel. It was easy to operate and all connections worked fine, within Israel and from Israel to the U.S. I pre-programmed all numbers that I expected to use and that saved me a lot of time. Using this phone worked well for me.

United States | 12 March 2015Amigo had exactly what I needed at a great price. They were able to accommodate my needs and worked with me on getting the phone to and from me without causing me a headache. Their instructions and reminders were clear and concise and I was able to begin using the phone as soon as I landed overseas - thank you

United States | 12 March 2015Deciphering the invoice is always a complex task. The invoice never corresponds directly to the sales receipt.
