I ordered a Smartphone for a trip to Poland. I used it only for the Internet (I could've used it for phone calls, but I didn't need to), and it worked fine. I was able to return it very easily by dropping it off at a UPS office -- the return package was already supplied.

I was not happy at all. I couldn't use the phone. I followed the seemingly simple directions, but all I got was a message in Hebrew that, of course, I couldn't understand. I had someone else try, and they had the same thing happen. I didn't have the time to seek out more help, so I paid for something that was useless to me.

I had a good experience three years ago with this phone and service, so I went with it again, same country. However, this time it was a debacle. The phone/service was not available on arrival in the country for which service was contracted. There appeared to be a report of lost phone, and the calls I made to the posted number for service help would not go through because "The phone is reported lost." It took a lot of effort and ingenuity to get the problem resolved, not what I needed when I had phone calls to make on arrival at my destination. Bummer! And, the service turned out to be more expensive than expected/advertized. There appeared to be a whole bunch of calls already in the phone's memory bank so who knows for what I paid. and there's a $10 fee for forward and $10 fee for return shipment of the device. I would have been better off upgrading my regular cell phone service for use in the foreign country. Amigo, you're no longer my friend.

I had the phone for Israel for a 2 week stay. The first problem was that although I could place a call, I could not receive calls. Then towards the end of my stay it was not possible to recharge the phone, it just went dead. Amigo is NOT what it used to be!!! Gloria Clay,

I was very pleased with the SIM cards. No problem with calling or data.

The email never updated after the first few days in Israel. The website did not explain services provided by the choices. I was flying blind and ended up with a useless product.

Amigo is one of the few companies that offers an old fashioned cell phone. We were extremely satisfied & would recommend Amigo to anyone in the need of cellular service in Israel.

Such an easy and affordable solution for when traveling! Getting the chip was a quick change to total convenience and confidence. I was able to use my phone and access internet ..etc...wherever and whenever I needed while overseas. I would definitely use Amigo again!!

I had a good experience with them. The sim card worked as promised. But they should not charge $10 to ship a sim card to you.

The sim card didn't work and I feel I was mislead by the Amigo reps I talked to previously to ordering one, who told me all I had to do was make sure my phone was unlocked and what size the sim card was, which I did by calling Verizon. I got to Israel and by the time I realized it would never work, I had to drive to a big city, find a hotel as it was getting dark. I got lost. If I had not ordered a sim, I would have paid extra for getting internet in my rental car and THAT would have helped me not get lost. Instead I had no phone with which to call a motel. After trying for several hours to get it running, Amigo offered to send me a phone for more money. By then, I was too angry to want anything to do with your company because my first night in Israel sucked because of having no phone. Sorry, but I would never recommend you. Plus, your people argued and tried to keep my money. I have disputed the charges with the credit card company. I will never use your company or even try a sim card again after that. I will just go with Verizon international charges and get internet in my car. What a nightmare and a headache Amigo caused me. Addendum: I ended up paying for a sim card that never worked. They disputed my claim that I got none of the services I paid lots of $$ for and my credit card company (REI) did not back me. I thus tore up that credit card and never used it again. DO NOT USE AMIGO SERVICES for overseas phone calling.

Always answer the phone and return calls. This is the 3rd time I have used them. Thanks,

Instructions how to install the sim card on to the phone would be helpful. I got an Israel number and a US number in order to allow me to transfer my US number to the phone. It took us 3 days to figure out how to make calls to the US and how to make local calls. It is very frustrating when you are in a foreign country.

I've used Amigo three times now, on overseas trips. They are reliable and the cost is very reasonable.

The phone was good and it made it easy to keep in touch with home. I only had two problems. The first was, I couldn't get home numbers programmed into the memory. It would either not save, or lose them after saving. I finally gave up. And also, I could tell I had voicemail, but it would not let me retrieve the voice mail. For both problems I followed the directions exactly and still had problems. Otherwise, calling home and staying connected was made easier.

I tried to reach the office after receiving my phone before going to Israel and was not able to reach anyone - the msg was mailbox was full. I had questions. I did not receive a package as in the past to return my phone and it was costly to do so. I have used Amigo several times in the past and recommended this to others. I hopefully will receive my $100.00 deposit soon.
