I did not have the best experience with the individual boat owner, but the platform went above and beyond to rectify the situation. They were sympathetic, understanding, and professional start to finish. The way they handled the situation (removing the boat owner from the platform permanently) showed me just how seriously they take their customers having a great experience start to finish. I have the upmost trust in this company and how they were able to turn a situation around and as a result this would be my go to choice for securing a boat going forward.

Had an amazing day with Captain Mark on Lake Austin for a bachelorette party. He had a cooler full of ice and waters for us, and made sure we were safe and had a good time. We went to a party cove, floated on a magic carpet, and enjoyed a private tour of Lake Austin. It was an incredible day for the bachelorette and the whole group.

100% Super Awesome platform

We rented a boat in Rio de Janeiro through the platform. The vendor had over 20 boats, so I figured it was a middle man, but nothing to worry to about. We got the date for a group of 20 people, and I paid the full amount. I was contacted by 3 different people at different times who told me they'd be the one taking the communication with me. This was not true because the other 2 people kept texting me with different information. On the day of the boat ride, one of these 3 concierge people called me at 6am and told me that the ride would start at 10am to 2pm. I said, "no, the rent was scheduled from 9am for 6 hours, so 9am to 3pm. She checked and apologized and she asked me if we could start at 9.30. It didnt seem like an unreasonable ask so I said ok. At 1.30 pm the captain tells me that we'll be disembarking soon, I was shocked, so I said we had paid until 3pm. He was also shocked because the middle man had paid him for 5 hours only. It was over an hour of going back and forth on the phone and then he came and told me that the company would reimburse me for the time we didn't get. At that point, I didnt want my guests to see the tension so I decided what was left of the ride. I contacted GetMyBoat. I was told to send pictures of the time of disembarking, which I did. Silence for over a week, nobody replied. Then I filed a complaint on their website. Almost 2 days later I got a refund for 52 usd, much less than the amount for the time not services. NOt to mention all the discomfort dealing with this. They have ways to go managing relationships and making sure their customers have a pleasant experience. I do not recommend it.

Get My Boat is a good company to work with. As a captain that charters his own boat, all I want is a simple booking system, a system that can handle booking options, and for the system to take in and disperse payments. As a one person operation, I get all I need to run a business from 'Getmyboat'.
