Horrible experience , Stay away

We’ve rented through GetMyBoat and Max a couple times and have to say it’s the easiest seamless process. We show up and the boat is gassed and ready to go! We refer everyone who comes to visit

Booked a boat Armand 59foot yacht for my fathers burial at sea in the Gulf of Mexico. I booked the boat of course I paid up front. The day before we flew out (less than 2 days before boarding the boat) I get an email saying (boat broken will refund money) I emailed back and said hey can you suggest another boat since Im not from there and have people flying in. No response. I begged for a response for help. No response. These people are the WORST. I tried to leave a google review and could not find a place on google. I called the 800 number on the website and the rude man on the phone said I would have to give him my phone number and name and complaint and he would call me back. He said it was policy. Well of course it is if you dont want people to see how shady you are. STAY AWAY!!!

This site should be call donotgetmyboat.com. Scammers. Took a trip to Dubai and rented a 2023 luxury boat for 4 hours. Pictures of the boat were sent to and it was specifically said that we wanted the boat in the picture. Were assured 100% that that would be our boat. When we got there, the boat was year 2019 and all worn out. We paid more money just to have the newer boat. When we called and texted the company they said, you wanted a boat and a boat you got. It didnt matter that it was not the boat promised. Other sites offered 2019 boats half the price. so we paid for a brand new boat and got a beat up worn out one. After that, they stopped responding and dont pick up or hang up when we call them. STAY AWAY

When I when to rent a boat, I asked to have the motor raised so I could inspect the prop which the owner did. Got in the boat and took off. 30 seconds later the engine died. I found a broken gas line. Floated in the lake 2 hrs until a friendly boat towed me back. Now owner says it's my fault and getbyboat is charging me for a rental that never happened plus $500 damages. This company allows scammers to operate so your cheap rental can be very expensive. be aware!

On 2/28 I booked a boat for 3/9 with a captain. We were driving from San Antonio to Dallas for Spring Break and wanted to have something fun planned for my kids. The boat we reserved had the option to rent with or without captain. Weather was going to be cold so on 3/7 I reached out to the owner and asked if we could change the reservation to 3/10, which he accepted and changed in the app. Less than 24 hours prior to our planned reservation, the owner cancelled due to "captain unavailable for rescheduled date." I immediately reached out to him and asked if we can still go without a captain. Messaged him again 45 minutes later and still no response. I sent an email to Get My Boat and they responded right away and let me know I would get a full refund, which I am happy with. However, this boat owner will be able to continue renting boats without being held accountable for canceling on me at the last minute. If I could find a way to leave him a review, I would. For anyone renting in the Dallas area, the boat owner is Traylon and the boat we reserved is listed as "Custom Blue 2023 Pontoon Boat 12 seater @ Lake Ray Hubbard"

I booked a reservation and accidentally booked the wrong day asked if I could cancel my reservation and at least get a partial refund since the day I booked was two days out because I know it was my fault but we would not be able to re book with us leaving town and they would do nothing no money back once you book whatever money they have there is no chance you will ever see it again.

Worse site ever!!! Says you can cancel 24 hrs prior to schedule . And when you do even one week ahead they will charge you a fee for using their website. Contact the boat companies direct people and avoid the poor customer service and non-agreed fee! Per you comment below. Your terms states100% refund . 100% refundis is 100% refund , not minutes 7% fee. Very misleading .

I’ve used this company before and didn’t have the best experience the first time, but thought I would try a different owner and boat. I quickly discovered they are all one and the same. Initially the communication was great until it wasn’t. I mostly communicated with Frank and he was very responsive to answering questions. There were several red flags once the deposit was paid. For starters, Frank message me and stated that the listing has been changed on the website for marketing purposes. So I checked and noticed it was a different boat listed. But, he shared a link to the original boat request and assured me that would be the boat we got. And guess what, on the day of it was not the boat we requested. Biggest FRAUD EVER! We were scheduled to go out on December 16th, but had to reschedule due to a tropical storm. Frank was very difficult with this request and refused to reschedule days before when he knew there was going to be a storm. He finally gave in the day before. This was absolutely ridiculous because we had people flying in and could have encouraged them not to due to the storm. To make matters worse, Frank charged an additional $400 to reschedule because it was a holiday weekend (Christmas Eve) though it does not state anywhere that this is the policy. Again, very fraudulent behavior! On the day of the trip, the boat was 30 minutes late and never bothered to tell me until I called to find out where they were. Then the captain was not who I was told the captain would be. A total different person. Of course Frank had an excuse and stated that the name he gave originally was the coordinator (eye roll). Then I was asked to sign contracts once I got on the boat with my guests, which should have been sent prior, very suspect! There were several issues on the boat, first off it wasn’t the boat we requested, the microwave didn’t work, the speakers barely worked. The captain and his mate were very suspect, I caught them filming my friends and I on their personal phones and they hung around my friends and I when they should have separated themselves from our group and tended to the boat. Very weird behavior and invasive, eww. My sister phone fell in the ocean and the captain and his mate offered no assistance. They did not have the proper gear to fetch the phone when it was only 11 feet deep. This was the most horrific experience I’ve ever had on a yacht rental. I will never, use this company again! Steer clear! Don’t waste your money. I know the prices are more affordable, but you don’t even get what you pay for. A total waste of time. Frank is a Fraud! I sent this review to Get My Boat and they have offered no assistance. Basically has taken the boat owner side and offered no resolution. A very shady company. I will never rent from them again and encourage you to do the same.

This company was crap. I never got the boat I reserved I got another one. They never took me where I wanted to go. They forgot my jet skis, gave me broken snorkel equipment. I informed get my boat about it and showed more than enough evidence and they refuse to do anything about it. I'll never use this company again nor would I reccomend anyone else does

Don’t use GetMyBoat! they help boat business delete negative reviews, leaving only the positive ones. So the public will never know if a boat business is bad. I have a very negative review for this boat business, but GetMyBoat has prevented my review from appearing in the review section, making it impossible for the public to make informed choices based on reviews.

GetMyBoat is a phenomenal organization to do business with. I have rented my boats out with them the past 3 years and all I can say is great things about them. They are always ready and able to assist and make the rental process seamless. I can brag about them all day however give them a shot and you’ll be in the same boat (no pun intended) as me!!! Thank you to GetMyBoat and the phenomenal employees I work/worked with. 😀😀😃

Great app and service. Very easy to find a boat in the water that we are staying near. The boat owners have always been quick to answer questions and get custom requests accomplished.

Rented boat for 2 hours in Chicago through getmyboat. Everything went well until the boat’s engine wouldn’t start and we couldn’t cruise at all. Getmyboat didn’t issue refund. “We’re not responsible”. I’ll never rent through them again.

I have to concur with other reviews on Trustpilot, Getmyboat.com is not a reputable company who protects the customer in addition to their boat renters. You as a customer have no recourse against maltreatment and unethical business practices from their renters. You even have to agree to hold Getmyboat.com entirely harmless for any and all improprieties perpetrated by their renters. I tried renting a 19 foot power boat in San Diego for my girlfriend's birthday, from an owner by the name of "Max A". I was told if I canceled less than 3 days in advance, I would receive no refund of the nearly $400.00 I placed on my credit card. On the day we were supposed to leave, Max abruptly canceled, less than 2 hours before our agreed upon meeting! He gave a very poor, dubious excuse for canceling, and I was given no other recourse than having to try to rent another boat from a local shop at the last minute, which cost $!00 more than what I was paying him. Contacting customer support was of no help, nor was I even able to leave a review of my experience. Thus the boat owner was fully protected by the company, not even his full name or contact details were provided if I wanted to pursue legal options on my own, and I was given no other consideration besides offering me a refund of my payment. When a reputable company, such as an airline cancels at the last minute, they offer something in return, such as travel vouchers for discounts on future travel. Cancellation agreements should be wtitten to protect both parties, especially if one party is going to be charged for almost any reason they have to cancel their reservation. Getmyboat.com makes customers sign an agreement where their company accepts zero responsibility for any negative conduct or negative rental experience a customer has... Terefore I highly recommend using a reputable company for something as expensive as a boat rental, which are often booked by customers for a special occasion.

I had an unfavorable experience with this company. The boat I rented was in poor condition — old, dirty, and it even broke down during our trip. Boat lost steering due to leaking hydraulic fluid almost coming and accident. When I approached them about a refund, it was denied due to the owner's disapproval. If you're considering renting, I'd advise looking elsewhere for a more reliable and customer-centric service.
