United States | 03 August 2022We rented a boat from RORY biggest Unscrupulous tactics in a business. Tampa. Florida. Never ever do business with this guy. We paid up front for a 22 foot boat. He called us back said he can not be at the dock we booked and he can not get his boat that we rented out because his truck broke down. So he said he had a better boat and we could use that but had to drive 23 minutes out of our way and he said we could have it for the samre time 5-sunset. We originally rented for 4 hours. Then he texts us the bluetooth doesnt work. Text him back he calls says on phone,,,,, He stated that he would discount us for that. Hes a real piece of work. Run from getmyboat.com its filled with cons. Im very upset we waisted our time and familys time dealing with this horrible mess. Do not use RORY. We have requested a refund.. beyond unethical. If we do not recieve a full refund we are taking legality.

United States | 03 August 2022I’ve been rather disappointed with my Get My Boat experience. Working directly with the boat captain is much preferred and I would recommend. They offer financing and don’t have the additional booking fee - the price is much more reasonable. Within 24 hours after booking through Get My Boat I inquired with customer service to discuss my order and financing options. They replied once and never responded to the thread. After initiating conversation through another support request, I was also replied to once and then ignored. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this service.

United States | 29 July 2022I am not in the least bit surprised that there are so many bad reviews on this pitiful outfit. This is my story,,, I had put in a search to rent a motorboat for an afternoon in South Padre Island. This was going to be the pinnacle of my family vacation. Upon renting the boat for 500 dollars I was instructed by GetMyBoat to get in touch with Frank Woeste the owner of the boat. I emailed him informing him that I had rented his boat on Monday July 18 in South Padre Island and asked him to send me the address of the Marina where the boat was docked. He sent me an address without the city or zip code,, just a street number ,,, I assumed since I had communicated to him that I rented his boat IN SOUTH PADRE that the address he answered me with was IN SOUTH PADRE. I was told by GetMyBoat that I would get additional instructions several days before July 18. Come July 17 I had never gotten any additional instructions . Still wanted to plan the big family outing for the next day. When I put the address that Frank Woeste sent me I was shocked to see that it was 7 hours away in Austin, Texas. I immediately called Frank Woeste to explain this dilemma to him and to see if I could get some kind of refund. He said yes but that I would have to call GetMyBoat because they were holding the money. Long story short I spent the next two hours of my vacation day on the phone speaking with various incompetent people from GetMyBoat. Holding on for 20 minutes,, getting disconnected...then finally getting someone else who claimed they had talked to Frank and that he refused the refund and there was nothing I could do . At this point I texted Frank Woeste to communicate my utter disappointment and to ask if he would at least agree to a partial refund or possibly extending a credit for me to use his boat at a future date if I was going to be in the Austin area. He completely ignored me. I believe the last person I spoke with at GetMyBoat was Katherine Varges ( she was at the top of the chain of command ) She said it was my fault because I should have checked the address the second he sent it to me. Like I said I had communicated to Frank that I was looking forward to using his boat In South Padre and he responded with a partial address. In hindsight I wish I had checked it right away and not assumed that Frank and GetMyBoat where being truthful. As a last resort I decided to get in touch with some peeps I know in Austin to see if they wanted to use the boat since it was paid for and I had no chance of even a partial refund. Katherine made it clear that to do so I would have to confirm the change with Frank. When I texted him one last time with this last second solution .. He still ignored me. He had gotten my hard earned 500 dollars and that is all that mattered to him. Both Frank Woeste as well as GetMyBoat should be ashamed of themselves..

United States | 24 July 2022I am amended this review from 1 to 4 start because their customer service reopen the claim and finaly issued the payment as stated here, will see when I'll get the official notification but all seems finally be working as it should be. Still not 5 start because I believe they should implement a way for customer be required to sign digitaly in an app after the trip and should not be that hard to get paid for damages, I do not understand why I had to open the picture metadata and take a picture with my phone of the picture with the time in the screen when if you have the actual picture you can simply right click in the picture and see the data but as I am not an expert... the original reason for this review was the fallowing: They claim to secure a deposit for owners in case of damage, but it does not matter how well you document your lost they will tell you, they need to be 100% sure customer made the damage, it does not matter if he signed acknowlegment that boat has no previous damage, pictures of damage, pictures of the boat before the damage and the claim made or filed same day of the rental, it is not enough. they also make you pay the sales taxes from your earnings and they add so many charges % that price for the customer almost double the rental price. They have no system where the customer is required to sign with you after the trip, that means customer can sale your boat in parts and just drop it anywhere when they are done and you have no way to make them responsible because unless boatsetter they do not have a sign off requirement and after all they will have to be 100% sure the customer was who actualy sold your staff or ruined your boat in order to give you the deposit, I ended up expendind about $1000 for a trip that customer paid more than $480 and I earned only $284. Not even to convict someone of a crime you need to be 100% sure... it is enough to be sure beyond a reasonable doubt... for a civil case the burden is even lower but getmyboat to decide a simple administrative proceding they need to be 100% sure... it is not enough that the customer signed before the trip my contract that even included a signed pagewith a diagram of the boat especifing proppeller, lpwer unit and hull where customer has to initialize and sign it is ok and can even add notes if any damage is found... and also I presented them with pictures of the damage and sent all documents the same day of the rental, they said the customer did not sign after the trip... in my document there is not even a designated place to sign after the trip because it is me who will have to sign that part, customer has his oportunity to sign what he got before the trip and in any case the customer cane before time and dropped the boat and even when I saw him he went to his car and did not wanted to sign... and even said to me that he did not remember if that damage was there before... when he knew I raise the motor and showed it to him before he signed....

United States | 23 July 20220 stars! Tested covid positive and had to cancel my trip was charged the full amount. Yes there is a cancellation policy but I did not know I would wake up super sick. No one asked about rescheduling. Unfortunate that they took my money when I was super sick.

United States | 23 July 2022Terrible experience! My relatives were visiting from out of state. The local boat rental company was closed on Sundays so we rented from Armando Sanchez with Get My Boat in Colo. Spgs. First of all he was over 40 min late to the lake. He lied and said he had to get gas, but we knew when he pulled up that his run down trailer was falling apart. As soon as we rode one of the jet skis after he left it wouldn’t go over 16 mph, so we called. He said it was just out of the repair shop. Obviously he didn’t test them. So all 6 of us only had 1 jet ski to ride for 3 hours which was not what we planned. The other jet ski lasted 30 min. And it too wouldn’t even run. Armando said he would credit us the entire cost of the first jet ski, but then later changed his mind (needed us to repair his trailer??) and said the 2nd jet ski was our fault and repairs for that happened to be the same amount as the first pos jet ski he rented to us. $250 to pull a rock out he said. We received no compensation for our terrible and embarrassing experience that we had for our our-of-state relatives. We paid $540 for 3 hours of misery. Bad business!! I will never rent from Get My Boat and especially Armando Sanchez again!!

Canada | 19 July 2022Hidden fees and crap customer service, Platform listings claim "captain included" The quotes confirm "captain included" But, a few days before your trip you'll get direct messages from the boat owners asking for $300-$500 per hour for captains. And they make cancellations difficult. The platform also does not list pick up or drop off locations. The captain decides that and when its far that'll eat into your rental time. Not recommended at all!

United States | 13 July 2022We made a reservation for a boat outing for a celebration with family that was traveling from out of town. We were packed up with food, ice, supplies and already at the dock when our reservation was cancelled on us. We contacted GetMyBoat to make alternate arrangements and was provided zero support trying to make new accommodations with no other alternative provided except a refund. This was an embarrassing experience for us as the main activity for visiting family and by extension reflective of this service. I reached out to the provider that cancelled and GetMyBoat, both who did not respond offering any sort of concession to our our reservation that was never honored. I was hopeful this would be a great service, but have zero trust in them to deliver.

United States | 13 July 2022This is a horrible app. After I had reserved with boat owner Andy and after the webb site took my money and Any approved the rental the next day Andy cancelled and the webb site offered no help. Terrible business model. Would not recommend it.

United States | 13 July 2022After sharing with them what I needed, I booked the boat for about $$400 with Nicolas who is the owner of the boat, you would think that is all you will be paying. Nope!!! This company added fees after your booking and expects you to pay them at the dock when you arrive. This is a complete scam. Everything should have been included when you book, but not the case with GetMyBoat. Here is what they sent to me. Boat $225hr x 2 hours = $450 Here are the additional fees: Captain + First mate $75hr x 2 hours = $150 Cleaning fee = $150 Fuel cost = $50 Total = $800 PAID IN 2 PAYMENTS $450(+ booking fee) paid through this app as Bareboat. $350 paid at dock to crew. Total $800 What kind of business practice is this? When you reserve a hotel room, you don't expect to pay additional fees. GetMyBoat can add on any fees they wish after you book. This is a very poor business practice to get additional money.

United States | 09 June 2022What a complete joke this company is. Dealing with these bobble heads are like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Yes we made a reservation for a boat. I thought as so did my wife that for $800 a captain was also provided. Now in the add is says 100% refund if beyond A 5 day period. Well it was 2 weeks and as soon as we booked it. I get a message from the owner asking if I understood a captain is $300 extra as he said many people get confused. Well I advised him I thought it did and I would decide in the morning. Well I cancelled and was issued a refund minus $56 It’s the fee Get my boat charges. No where did I see that amd I sent them a picture clearly showing 100 % refund. Well now I am blocked So dispute woth Visa

The owner of the boat could not/would not accomodate 7 people instead of 6 and so the rental was cancelled.............this company decided to charge me their service charge even though the captain of the boat cancelled........WARNING....DO NOT EVER USE THIS TOTAL RIP OFF COMPANY!!!!

United States | 30 May 2022I’ve been using GetMyBoat for years now as a boat owner/charter company. I’ve had incredible customer service from Darrell and his team. I can request a phone call or help, and I get it within 24 hours…but usually within an hour. This weekend we had a tough client who booked a charter with us. We explained clearly that we require a bar package and charge for additional guests. They tried to cancel the day of bc they didn’t want to pay for a bar package. Over holiday weekends we have minimums, like most event spaces. Anyways, she agreed to it before she booked and then tried to get out of it. I spoke with GetMyBoat and they supported me as a boat owner, spoke with the client, and also let me know that I could refuse services and still receive my payout since it the terms were clear and agreed to. With their support, the client eventually came to the table and paid for their event, and had a wonderful time. Without the support of GetMyBoat, I think we wouldn’t have been able to walk away whole and would have lost the Memorial Day slot.

United States | 06 May 2022No accountability, no professionalism and no way to leave reviews on website, which are all huge "red flags" when considering this company. Renter/Owners can cancel at the last minute without a legit excuse. Do you really want to put your special occasion with a company that had no accountability. Owner canceled on me, saying "The park no longer allows chartering, sorry!" NO professionalism. Didn't provide proof, did't provide refund information, and on top of that, if his reason was real, why didn't Get My Boat stop all charters from being booked on this particular day. Just a lie by the owner, who either wanted the day off OR received a more lucrative offer from another customer. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT put your trust in this company.

Je n'ai jamais vu un service client aussi incompétent. Vous qui souhaitez louer un bateau boycotez cette plateforme minable. Click and Boat et Samboat sont à la hauteur. Mais fuyez GETMYBOAT. United States | 09 February 2022As a sailboat owner and prospective boat charter, I have reached out to GET MY BOAT for preliminary info and they seemed knowledgeable. I’m not a company. Rather just looking to make use of my vessel, enjoy sailing while covering yearly marine costs. While their commission might seem high, the percentage, to me is reasonable for what they offer. I’ll probably give another review once I get my captain license and have charters thru the app this sailing season on the Chesapeake.
