Founded by Celia Hay, the New Zealand School of Food & Wine has been educating the next generation of baristas, chefs, restaurant & café managers, sommeliers and wine professionals, hospitality- tourism entrepreneurs as well as people who just love good food since 1995. Located in Auckland's Viaduct, our NZQA New Zealand Government accredited qualifications offer practical hands-on cooking and hospitality-tourism focused certificates, taught by a team of chefs, restaurant managers and wine professionals who are experts in their field and focused on the success of our students.

had a good vibe all-round with Franck, being from France, knowing what they were talking about. good wines, however the sauvignon blanc didn't have enough body to my liking and for its price it was about below average (not really a review on the course, more so the wine). I think it would have been good to spend an hour or so on how to tell if a wine is dry or sweet because when I had thought the wine was sweet, it was dry

Excellent course to introduce the Wine of NZ. Our teacher, Frank, who is very knowledgeable in wine industry. Especially the last course of food pairings, gives you the brand new idea of food and wine.

My daughter and I really loved the course! would highly recommend to all. Franck was a great tutor, and we loved his humor whilst teaching us great skills in Bar and Cocktail making :)

This was such a great course as an introduction to cocktails. We learned a lot about the different alcohols and how to incorporate them into drinks.

Great well run course. The content is very focused on cafe/restaurant type business scenarios with not a great deal of emphasis on food production side of things. I guess this probably is fair as the majority of people will be running those types of businesses. All in all still well worth the time and cost and I felt I learned a lot more than the last time I did a course like this.

The whole process from start to finish was simple, organised and hassle-free. Booking the course online was quick and easy. Communication through email was also very efficient. The class itself was very informative. Celia was a great teacher and was pleasant to listen to. I also liked that NZSFW gave clear instructions about the assessment and it wasn't complicated to sit. The assessment result and certificate came in very quickly too. Glad I chose to NZSFW to get my Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.

I found the food safety course to be informative, interesting and all relevant. Celia managed to cover everything and I felt the length of the course was just right. I would recommend it to other people wanting to start or operate a food business.

I participated in the LCQ Training course with Celia who was very knowledgeable and had a good understanding of the topic. I did find the online training to be well structured however I would have liked to have a bit more engagement and interactions such as doing activates to gain a deeper understanding than just reading off slides But I did pass the course, so I must have learnt something!
