Short review: floors are supposed to be hard wearing and easy to live with: this isn’t either. Laminate is tougher. Long review: Scratches very easily. I’m not really sure what the point of it is: on the one hand it’s described as being ‘bomb proof’ but on the other has a laundry list of what you can’t do - can’t use normal floor cleaner, can’t use furniture without pads on them, can’t put in a high traffic place due to the chance of specks of dust causing it to scratch, and probably the most puzzling: can’t use a vacuum cleaner on it because… it’ll scratch it. We follow all of the guidance and our furniture is on castors and have bought the expensive PH neutral cleaner they recommend. Our floor has been down for about three months and is already picking up scratches despite the above. We don’t wear shoes indoors. It’s their top of the range Art Select too that’s in the living room, so not a hallway or anything. Personally, I don’t think this product is as described at all, hence all the contradictions. Like most other people on here have said, read these reviews first and make your decision. Karndean can solve a problem though. The product is very thin compared to the alternatives, which can solve height issues (or create them) between rooms. It’s also stuck to the floor and will conform to it, which is really handy for floors that aren’t level - this will cause problems with laminate and wood etc. So as long as your floor is smooth, it doesn’t have to be level (just mostly flat within a tolerance). Edit: After reading their reply, I cannot understand how the company can be confident that there aren’t issues with it scratching very easily considering this page is full of comments identical to mine. Test it for yourself - samples are free. A bit of a disappointing response, which looks a lot like PR as it doesn’t address the contradictions I posted above. Oh, and the comment that it’s warmer than laminate that’s on their website - absolute nonsense. I will eat my own words if their repair kit works though.

Awful! Horrible! Etc etc. contacted karndean after spending 4k 6months after purchased - not interested. Scratches like hell, never looks clean. Used all the ‘recommended’ products, useless. Beautiful new kitchen ruined by the look of the floor. 2yrs down the line im still pulling my hair out trying to make it look clean. Cant stress about it any more so Im biting the bullet & emptying my bank again for a new floor & it wont be karndean! Look at the reviews, i wish i had !

I installed Lemon Spotted Gum luxury Plank vinyl on my entire main floor. As long as there is no light on the floor it looks fine. Any light show lots of marks that look like small footprints. They are perfectly evenly spaced so it's a manufacturing problem. I've had no success getting any help from Karndean or my installer. I hate this floor! It always looks dirty. Do not buy this product!

Wish I had read these reviews before buying my kitchen flooring!Only 9 months old full of scratches emailed karndean and they tell you to go back to who you bought it through so I can see this is never going to get resolved quickly and efficiently!Poor quality items and will not last a lifetime even with their guarantee mines not even a year old. Shocking

We have had Van Gogh Birch down down less than 24 hours and are extremely unhappy with the quality and awful ripple effect on the floor. Also every tiny water spillage or Mark shows up on the floor and is impossible to clean! Please do not waste your money on this ridiculous product. We were assured it was harder wearing than wooden floors and a much better hard waring investment. What utter rubbish! So upset as this was the last part of pur building work to be done and its been less than 24hours and we are so upset and disappointed.

I am so disappointed with Karndean, I am struggling to even put in to words by how much! We decided to go for the Korlok product and was sold it as a premium product. This is so far from the truth!! We spent thousands of pounds having our large kitchen/diner floor refitted with this substandard product, this is why: Issue 1 - The first hot summers day the floor all ‘popped’ up in an area near the patio doors, the joints all raised by about 2inches. Karndean advised this was due to poor fitting (it was fitted by one of their approved fitters) and told us to have it refitted, which we did with a huge upheaval to us, low and behold it happened again on the next warm day! Karndean then replaced about 10 panels they believe were at fault (yet more upheaval). It still lifts in warm weather! We gave up and covered the area with a rug in warm whether. Issue 2 - Fast forward 2 years and the colour has completely faded across the entire floor, it has gone from a lovely wood colour to a cheap yellow sun bleached laminate look! Not the look I was going for! Dealing with Karndean customer service is slow, painful and dam right hard work! They have offered to replace the floor but can’t guarantee these issues won’t happen again! Why would I want the same floor again?!? Someone please tell me!

We went top of the range with the Art Select Spanish Cherry in our sitting room & dining room & they were scratched within days. Even a wooden chair leg scratches it. It was eye wateringly expensive & I was assured it would last for years but it is absolutely awful - I may as well have bought some crap from Carpetright. This was supposed to be the finishing touch to our house refurbishment & it has ruined it. Someone came & looked at it & 2 months later I've seen a report (sent to our supplier not me) saying it is basically all our fault (presumably for living in our home) with a super grand gesture to send us a cleaning kit! This product is simply not fit for purpose - I can't imagine how bad it would be if there were kids & animals in the house - DO NOT BUY - I wish I'd looked at the reviews on here before I spent a fortune on this rubbish. The lower range product we used upstairs is OK although very dull after just a few months.

We put this flooring down throughout our downstairs, loved it at first but after awhile we started to notice scuff marks and scratches everywhere!!!! Nothing can hide them. It constantly looks dull and dirty and there are dents in it too. How is this floor hard-wearing!!!! Even our clothes horse scratches it, literally everything that moves on it! It's not even down 2 years yet and already looking at changing it once we can afford to. The floor wasn't cheap, I wish I had researched at the time. I know in future. Would not recommend and will be letting our provider know too how crap it is. Very disappointed.

We were sold Karndean floor as being hardwearing, durable etc. the best thing out there basically. It’s awful. Not even had it 4 months and it’s scratched to death like we’ve dragged knives across it. Cost a fortune too! Thousands! I complained to karndean who sent me a floor cleaning kit and said if I’m still not happy I have to go back to the fitter, who then has to contact his supplier who then has to contact Karndean! What a joke. Do not recommend at all. We will most likely be changing floor within a year.

Spent several thousands of pounds on the top of the range black oak tiles. They mark and scratch very, very easily. Our 10-month old floor is basically ruined from normal residential use. Would advise buying only the cheapest products from Karndean, as the most expensive don’t offer any additional protection against normal wear and tear.

This is an update on a previous post where my flooring became badly stained where dye had transferred from a damp cardboard box. Nothing would remove it. I was contacted by Chloe from Karndean who was arranging to have the affected planks replaced. However, whilst waiting for this the stain faded considerably and is now not noticeable. I was very pleased with how Karndean responded to the problem. Very good aftercare service.

Like many others, I’m so disappointed by how easily our new Karndean Opus flooring has scratched. I chose it as I was told it would be hardwearing which was a must with two young kids. We’ve only had it for a few months and there are so many scratches which is such a shame as the colour / effect is good.

70% of the reviews are poor or bad. If anyone is thinking of having this brand, think again. We were sold this by the Bovis sales guy for our brand new dream home. Was told it would last 15 years plus. Wont scratch. Wont dent. We upgraded, paid the extra money as we have children and wanted it to be perfect and last us a long time without worrying. The exact opposite has happened, This flooring scratches so easily and will not last any longer than 2 years at this rate. In fact after only 12 months in our house we are thinking about replacing it. Would never have this brand again. Avoid.

The flooring should come with a warning - Do Not Purchase. My advice would be to steer clear of this brand. So very disappointed, we paid such an awful lot of money to have the whole of our downstairs laid with this flooring and wish that I had done more research. The quality is shocking. I'm constantly on pins if anybody happens to enter the house with their shoes on as it scratches so easily, I dread to think how it will look in a few years time. Definitely not worth the money.

For now 3 stars, this may decrease after time. We spent a lot of money on Art Select Prairie Oak. Kitchen, dining room & sun room, looks amazing, however already a few scratches, only 2 of us in the house, not heavy footed / handed with items (my partner is a joiner, a perfectionist so we are always careful), it is slippery for the dog, he can slip just walking, already there are some scratches, which I know are from the bin, however it’s a plastic round bin not exactly sharp, 15yrs on a quick step floor, not one scratch, 2mths on Karndean, it’s scratched, for the money I do not recommend it, you've to treat it with kid gloves!

Hi All. Sorry I have had to score 3 star. Reading good and not so good reviews. Mixed opinions. We have decided to have KARNDEAN flooring fitted. Stick down, tile effect. We have a open plan new kitchen into the dinner. Before quotations can we have a TRUE reflection of the quality of the flooring from customers and also KARDEAN customer services please. DO we have to have a certain type, Heavy traffic use, grandchild with toys, labrador dog, French doors. Do we need a KARNDEAN AUTHORISED INSTALLER, for guarantee? Or a flooring installer? Does it have to be self level and glue from KARNDEAN for the guarantee? Replies will be great fully appreciated.

I’m writing this review so I can advise people not to buy Karndean vinyl flooring! It costs a fortune yet it’s quality is rubbish just like the after care. My complaint has been ongoing for a long time so when they agreed to send out a surveyor I was hoping something would be done. The surveyor agreed with me that there is loads of fine scratches all over the flooring when I asked what’s the likely outcome here he responded he’s just the middle man. 2 months after the inspection I receive an email stating that will offer me In the interest of good business relations, as a gesture of goodwill we are happy to supply a complimentary Karndean a floor Care Kit direct to the customer as well as twelve replacement RP92 planks to assist swapping out of any of the more severely scratched and scraped planks. I have declined this offer as they should be offering me my £2,600 that I paid. I would like to hear other peoples cases with Karndean and is there any other Options I have here.

Well, it seems I'm not the only one to seek out an opportunity to review this product. We recently spent around £1400 on having this flooring fitted. We had it in our old bathroom and I loved it. Its been highly recommended by a couple of our tradesmen as well so we pushed the boat out and got it in our hall, kitchen, upstairs loo and conservatory in our new house. I thought it was worth pushing the boat out on flooring due to the amount of wear and tear it would receive. Anyway. Despite it advertising how hard wearing it is. We've already got a number of scratches and its only been down for 12 weeks. It scratches REALLY EASILY. We had regular laminate in our old house in the hall and there wasn't a scratch on it 12 years later. Some scratches I have no idea where they've come from. Others are like underneath a door where a little stone has got stuck underneath the door and been dragged across the floor when opening before you could do anything about it. I look after it. It cost cost us lot. But I absolutely wouldn't recommend it for any room other than the bathroom if you don't wear shoes in it. We take our shoes off before we go upstairs so there's little chance of an issue arising. Can't tell you how disappointed I am. Looks really nice. But I dread to think how's its going to look in a couple of years.
