United Kingdom | 07 November 2021We have karndean in our kitchen, lounge, 2 bedrooms. 2 en-suites and our main bathroom, it’s fabulous. We have floor to ceiling windows in our lounge which let in loads of light and has a greenhouse effect in summer and there is no noticeable colour change after over 10 years, unlike the sofa which has bleached badly. Our kitchen floor has been down over 15 years and looks as good as new, I’ve never had to do anything to it other than wash it. We’re having two more bedrooms laid in early December, really can’t fault it, though choose a good fitter and ensure they clean all glue residue immediately. We have one scratch in the lounge from a chair leg which was our own fault, it had a defective pin on the leg. It’s so easy to look after I truly wouldn’t have anything else.

United Kingdom | 03 November 2021We picked karndean opus for our new kitchen thinking it'd be hardwearing and low maintenance. While it looks stunning within days of fitting, in September, tiny scratches started to appear then a cup was dropped, less than 30cm, which resulted in a deep scratch. I lavish more care an attention over it than I would an antique; shoes aren't allowed, the dogs' feet are wiped before they come in, I use the soft attachment on the hoover rather than the quick whizz over the rest of the house gets as I'm terrified of more scratches. A home's supposed to be lived in and enjoyed, especially a brand new kitchen, and I've never been precious about anything. If I had my way I'd rip it out now and get some vinyl from a discount carpet supplier but it cost £2.5k so I guess I'm stuck with it for a while. One positive: our next big project is to replace the groundfloor flooring - we won't be fitting karndean

Hong Kong | 26 October 2021Just recently installed Van Gogh in a restaurant located in Liverpool. The wood design is wonderful and match my restaurant perfectly. Positive comments received from customers.

United Kingdom | 30 September 2021I wish I'd read these reviews before buying. I have had my karndean floor for two years now fully aware that there may be 'slight fading' when choosing this product. Foolishly I thought 'slight fading' meant exactly that - no more than a carpet might fade in direct sun over the years. After two summers the flooring nearest my french doors has completely changed colour. I can't believe that's happened after such a short amount of time. I'm so upset as it took me ages to save up for. I really feel like i've wasted my money.

United States | 25 September 2021Terrible company to deal with . I own a flooring store in California. We are a five star company that Karndean is damaging our reputation . We had a client that saw a picture of "Karndean, Van Gogh, Country Oak"- This is not a product we carried but they really liked the look so i bought a display and sold them over 2700 sq ft . The product was acclimated inside the house for 2 weeks. The house was just remodeled with brand new smooth underlayment over plywood subfloor. A moisture barrier installed under the house as well. The house had new insulation , new hvac with temperature control (always between 65-75 degrees). Absolutely no direct sunlight. Basically the most perfect installation set up you would ever get on a jobsite. We had two flooring contractors and a union journeyman flooring installer (combined 70 years experience) glue the floor down with Karndean adhesive. Our clients moved in about about a week after install. Everything was perfect for about three months then the product started shrinking every where and i do mean everywhere. Karndean refused to send out an inspector (every other mill would have had someone look at immediately) so on our own we hired two different licensed inspectors (without either knowing anything about the other inspection ) . Both inspectors came to the exact same conclusion- the product is 100% defective. We also sent Karndean a couple of planks we pulled up from installed floor along with a couple of left over planks that clearly showed the shrinkage . Karndean has refused the claim . I have dealt with a lot of mills over my 35 years in the flooring business but this is the worst. We feel bad as our clients based wall colors and furniture choices off of flooring colors. Absolutely the worst flooring experience ever!

United Kingdom | 17 September 2021Don’t buy Karndean Knight Honed Oyster Slate! It looked great on the sample and the photo in the brochure, but neither shows that some tiles have black splodges on them that look exactly like stains. We really thought that they were stains that the plumbers had left behind. The floor looks awful.

United Kingdom | 07 September 2021We purchased Karndean Opus Niveus back in 2018 to cover our hallway and open plan kitchen/diner. We were two adults, no children or pets at the time. The floor constantly looked dirty and scratched really easily - after just 6 months it was covered in small scratches and looked as if it had been down for nearer to 10 years. We did complain and went through the procedure with Karndean who after much back and forth did end up acknowledging fault and offered to completely replace and refit our flooring. We chose the Van Gogh range after having such a bad experience with Opus and it’s now been refitted for maybe 3 months and already this floor also looks dirty all the time. It’s not scratching as easily but it is still scratching more than I would like for a product which claims to be scratch resistant. We have no pets so at a loss what is causing it. We have spot cleaned and used the Karndean products and we just cannot seem to get the floor looking clean. Looks permanently scuffed and dull like many others have said. So disappointed after seeing and hearing so many good things. And unfortunately this has happened on 2 ranges. I wish we had never purchased as it’s so high maintenance for what was supposed to be a low maintenance floor!!

United Kingdom | 01 September 2021We had our Karndean laid last November and have been trying to raise our concerns regarding the fact that it constantly looks dirty, has residue from the glue in several places that simply won’t come off and what looks like a bullet hole in one of the planks. Had an inspector who came out 8 weeks ago from Karndean who came up with all the excuses under the sun for everything I raised and basically described it as the most delicate flooring on earth and that you have to be really careful with it! What a joke, this is not how it is pitched before sale! He cleaned a small area with Karndean’s own product Remove which literally made no difference yet he’d tried to convince me this was the answer to my problems. He would not tackle the problem areas with it, only a little area which was in a dark corner of the room so I couldn’t see any difference. He said his report would take a maximum of 6 weeks which I thought was a long time but still not heard anything after 8. Really disappointed. It looks cheap and dirty in well lit areas and looks like it’s covered in scuff marks all the time yet we wear slippers and have no pets or children. And we have spent thousands to get to this!

United States | 28 July 2021I spoke with Hannah from customer service about returning a box of vinyl tile because we had already used all the boxes of the Karndean product. She told me she would help me return the product I purchased and told me Joe an associate at Karndean would call my retailer who I purchased a box from. She called me back and said Joe gave my retailer 2 options in returning it and the retailer said it could not be done. I then gave my retailer a call and he said that their return policy is any outside product can be returned as long as the manufacturer will take it back. When I called back Hannah and left her a voicemail explaining what happened. I did not receive a call back. My problem did not get resolved as a result of poor communication. I was relayed misinformation which Hannah apologized for when I called back a fourth time. While an apology was required for my frustration, it would have been better if they solved my problem with an actual resolution for the stress and misinformation they’ve caused me.

United Kingdom | 21 July 2021Floor installed professionally in dining room, kitchen and hallway; looked great. Only two adults and one labrador live in our house so not a lot of day-to-day wear and tear. A chunk came out of the floor (under the table), then a few more appeared in random places. Scratches appeared all over the place despite having felt pads on the bottom of chair/table legs. Karndean technician visited; report stated that we have dropped/hit the floor resulting in the cracks and scratches are due to grit! Their report also stated "large dog" in the property. Are you not allowed a dog if you buy Karndean? I have had Karndean in other properties and have been happy with the flooring and their customer service. This time, I am appalled. The product is shoddy and not fit for purpose; it certainly does not meet Karndean's boast about wear and tear. Avoid at all costs.

United Kingdom | 07 July 2021We got Karndean after seeing it recommended by a YOUTUBER I follow and I have to say it’s one of the best decisions we made when renovating our downstairs. It’s so durable that I don’t think even my kids would manage to destroy it and it has the feel of a proper wood floor but I don’t have to worry out it getting damaged. Not cheap but worth it!

United Kingdom | 18 June 2021After reading some of these negative reviews I thought I’d do the opposite! We had our Karndean fitted nearly 15 years ago in a kitchen/diner. Heavy duty traffic area out of back door and a wheelchair user too and all I can say is it was fitted perfectly and is still looking as good as new. I also confess to not really looking after it as I should have either. We are having a new kitchen and I’m really disappointed that it has to go! Thankyou Karndean!

United Kingdom | 17 June 2021I have previously put a poor review on for Karndean flooring but I have to give credit where it is due and the way they have dealt with my issues with the flooring deserves credit. It has restored my faith in dealing with a reputable company and my flooring has now been repaired and looks great again. Many thanks to Vanessa who sorted this out for me and kept on top of the process.

United Kingdom | 09 June 2021I have just received my order of looselay Salem and I am gutted. Opened first two boxes and only have six different planks out of 24, not to mention they don’t look anything like the sample or pictures on the website. Hugely disappointed!

United Kingdom | 07 June 2021Supposed to be light grey, but there is massive colour variation between the tiles, which isn't reflected in the sample. It's so bad I thought they had sent the wrong tiles. Also, the colouring effect makes some clean tiles look dirty. I wish we had stuck with the cheaper and better quality Expona flooring we had fitted elsewhere.

United Kingdom | 06 June 2021I am writing this review despite the fact that I rate the product as we have 30msq of karndean loose lay long board in our lounge dining area. I have installed loose lay stone tile effect in our conservatory only about 9msq over a concrete floor that had been laytexed to give a smooth finish. It was fitted up to the skirting board to stop it moving around as per guidelines, was really pleased with the finished effect about a month ago. Then we had a spell of warmish weather a couple of weeks ago about 20° max and the floor started to lift and the joints pooped up so the tiles were obviously expanding considerably in what I consider not to be that hot a day. So I sent karndean a message to check their suitability in a conservatory and was told that I should get in touch with the supplier but they are ment to be ok up to 50°, we'll in this case obviously not. It seemed to me that all they wanted to do was pass the book to the supplier who is an online company who gets them direct from karndean. So if you were thinking of having karndean loose lay in a conservatory I wouldn't bother otherwise you will be like me wasting £300 and then taking it all back up which is what I have had to do and now am going to tile it instead, I am a flooring contractor so both jobs are within my scope of work.

United Kingdom | 03 June 2021Do not buy this flooring . We had the floor fitted in our news kitchen and dinning room. The floor looks absolutely terrible . Already scratched , badly fitted around the door, radiator , kitchen cupboards. The strips , coming out . So disappointing. It was sold to us as a good product, It looks like an inexpensive linoleum . We are told that now we need to find another fitter , the silicon fitter , to seal the gaps around the edges and doors. This is unbelievable. Life time guaranteed, by whom .? We can’t find anyone to help . We have spent a great deal of Money on this flooring that is not fit for the purpose. Please keep well away from Karndean selling misrepresentation.
